  1. Hi,

Is anyone here know if there is a website or a number we can call for status updates? My wife is currently petitioning her parents in the Philippines. We already paid the Visa for her parents as instructed by the travelstate.gov, this was done in July. We still have not gotten any notices from the embassy in Manila.

Does anyone know if there is any delay in processing right now?

My wife is a Us citizen who petitioned her mom and dad.

    Thanks

  2. Hello

I am trying to fill out this affidavit of support form. I am not sure which one to fill out. I-864ez or I-864. The EZ does not give me an option to add me as a joint sponsor. My wife's income does not meet the poverty guidelines. (she is petitioning her parents).

The I-864 gives me the option to add an I-864A(joint sponsor) form. But the travelstate.gov site instructions are to fill up I-864EZ if you meet the guidelines:

    # You filed a Form I-130 petition, for your relative

    # There is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition.

Then it tells to fill up I-864 if none of the above apply. Which one am i suppose to fill out?

Can anyone help me on this?

  3. yes sorry. I am just doing the paperwork. Its her petition. I suppose separate checks as well for each petition. Am i right?

are you just filling out the paperwork for your wife? because she is the one filing for her parents, so really she should be filing them. maybe you just worded it wrong, because you can't petition for them, your wife has to.

yes, separate birth certificates, parents marriage licenses, if there are any divorce decrees. and if they are in any other language than English she has to attach a translation into English. two separate packages and payments sent in one big envelope.

  4. hi folks

    just have a quick question.

I am filing a petition for my wifes parents mother and father. I understand i need to make separate applications for each parent. Do I need to make separate copies of my wifes citizenship birth certificate etc for each application as well? They will go on the same envelope anyways.

    Thanks for any info

  5. Hello folks

My wife( us citizen) is trying to petition her mother to come here. We found out that her mother has a different name on her birth certificate. Different first and middle name, I really dont know how to fix this problem. My wifes birth certificate has her mothers current name which is different than her name on the birth certificate. My wife is from the Philippines.

    Any help is appreciated

  6. Has to be continuous (well, more or less- but after as long as she was abroad, the clock re-sets).

Did she come and visit the US during her time abroad?

Yes she visited after 2 yrs for 2 weeks to get a permit to be away for another 2 yrs. So not to lose her status as a resident

  7. Hello folks

My question is i have a cousin who wants to apply for citizenship. Resident for 5 yrs.. however She arrived here in 2001 but left the country in 2004 to go back to the Philippines to study. She went back here after 4 yrs in 2008 and has lived here since then. Can she use that as a basis to be eligible for citizenship? the 3 yrs between 2001 to 2004 and 2008 to 2011 are 6 yrs together. Is that enough proof, or she has to be here continuously for 5 yrs?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. I think it would be from 1/28 as your resident status was since 1/28 and not 11/28.

I am not even sure why u would have 2 different dates since the person was resident.

ya i am not sure either why they have diffrent dates. Thats why i was a bit confused.

That is incorrect... the 2 year and 10 year GCs should have the same date!!! When did your AOS get approved... that's when.

I have to check my papers let me get back to you on that one

  9. hi folks

My wifes removal of condition is in process, Her temp card expires 1/25/10 . Her current work

is asking for further proof of legal residency, I have seen other people here about their

processing time that it could take up to 6 months.

The employer wants to terminate her if she cannot show the new 10 yr card when the temp card

expires, does the INS offer some type of extension as proof of her legal residency, while

    the paperwork is being processed?

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks

  10. hi folks just a question,

My wife just recently received the notice from INS regarding the need for filing for removal of condition during the first week of Oct 09. I am in the process of filing but wont be able to send it until at least the first or 2nd week of Nov. Her Temp Green card expires in 1/25/2010. I understand that i have to file this within 90 days of the expiration. Is this ample enough time for me to process, or should i rush this and send it before the end of Oct?

Thanks any info would be appreciated

  11. hi all.

Me and the wifey will have our aos interview this friday. I am scared and anxious at the same time i followed the list that is on 1-797c notice for AOs for green card. I am thinking of bringing our new born (6 mo)son to the interview. Is this a good thing? I mean will it help me better in giving out the impression that this is a bonafide relationship? Any info would be appreciated.

  13. hi to all

Im a little confused with the ead form number 16

Go to Part 2 of the Instructions, Eligibility Categories. In the space below, place

the letter and number of the category you selected from the instructions (For

    example, (a)(8), ©(17)(iii), etc.).

do i just put (a)(6)? and do i mail it to the chicago address ( with my I-485 forms) or the local ins address where i live? The instructions says to mail it to the local ins address. I just want to make sure on this. it is also asking for 2 passport pictures. Is that different from the i-485 passport pictures that i will send?

    thanks to all
