  1. I've been trying to track my passport and I'm getting these different replies from these different sources recently:

USTRAVELDOCS Profile: "Document Delivery Information" instead of "Your passport is still with consulate/embassy"

passportstatus email: "There's no status update available for the passport number submitted"

Is that a good sign? My CEAC visa status still says admin processing though.

    Thank you.

I feel you. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I make a mistake before, resigned my job before the interview. Since I need to serve 2 months notice and I really wanted to fly back with him (he came to attend the interview with me). So, end up, I jobless for a month and started getting bored even before the interview. After the interview, it make me curious when I will get my Visa because I really wanted to fly with him. Oh wow, I still can remember how crazy I am that time. Checking the site every day (once every hour or two hours). Let us know the updates. Really hope you will get it soon.

I know it's so frustrating. I'm barely having enough sleep.

I will let you guys know if there are any updates. Thank you for your concern.

if they didnt give you the passport back it will take matters of days .... possibly the time of regular visa time.. witch is 15 days from the day of interview

I really hope this is the case. Because when I asked the CO after the interview he told me it will take 2 weeks to get my passport back. Still he didn't want to tell if it's approved or not.

It’s not gonna be forever. It’s just as long as it takes to process. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone applying for any visa as it is standard procedure. How else will they attach the visa to your passport?

It's not a surprise. I'm just trying to say how frustrating it gets through this process since you have absolutely nothing to do and all your other plans have to go on hold.

There is nothing you can do now, except waiting. I know it is suck. My status change to issued after few days (maybe 5 days). Finger crossed, hopefully you will get your passport with your Visa soon.

Okay so there's a probability that it might be issued sooner than I think. I really hope it does.

    Thank you so much.

The worst thing that could happen is:

    1.  Denied entry when arriving at the US border and a quick trip back to Egypt....possible

    2.  Added delay to your K-1...definiately

Hopefully, the AP will end and you can travel to the US via your approved K-1.......good luck...

I really hope so. I've read that sometimes they just change the status to AP for a couple of days till they finally do to "Issued". Hope this is the case with me.

    Thank you for your reply.

You need to wait it out. I’m pretty sure you’re not able to get your passport back. AP takes as long as it takes. Some take days, weeks, months, or years. No one knows. Your tourist visa will be canceled if your immigrant visa is approved. Even if you had your passport back and wanted to travel to the US on your tourist visa, you would experience some difficulty at POE due to a pending immigrant visa petition. You’re better off waiting it out. Even if you were able to get your passport back and allowed to travel, you’d just be adding more time to your processing.

It's weird that I can't get my passport back. What if I want to travel anywhere else in the world? I can't have my passport away forever.

Anyway, thank you so much for your reply. I'll wait more and see what will happen.

  7. So I had my interview last Tuesday. I was missing my family register. The CO gave me my passport back and a white form with a check on the missing document.

I immediately got the family register and sent it on the same day along with my passport via Aramex.

Now my status on CEAC changed to Administrative Processing.

I need to know if anyone had a similar experience before. How long will it take? Is it going to take the same as the regular AP? I was only missing one document which I wasn't even informed of.

Also, my fiance is doing a surgery next month and I need to be with him. I have a valid B2 visa. Am I able to retrieve my passport and visit him using it? Or Will the whole procedure be called off?

    Thank you.

  8. I received an email telling me to send all the documents via Aramex to be able to schedule my interview. I did and now I scheduled my appointment which will take place in 2 weeks.

Now, what documents should I bring to the interview since I already sent everything via Aramex to the embassy? The only thing they didn't require me to send was the medical exam result.

Is this the normal case with everyone who has been there in Egypt's US embassy?

    Thank you.

You should use the case number here to track your case (visa type should always be set to immigrant ): https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV

It should change to "In Transit" when it's on the way to your embassy and then to "Ready" when your consulate has received it and you're allowed to schedule your interview. your profile isn't set up so I'm unsure of what country you're from but you will probably need to email your consulate and request packet 3 when your case status is set to "Ready". You can FILL OUT the DS-160 but do not electronically sign or submit the application until your case status is at least set to "Ready" just to be safe.

    Thank you for the info.

Well I'm from Egypt. I don't know much about the packet 3 steps.

  10. It's been 28 days since we got our NOA2. We called the NVC yesterday and they gave us the case number. They also told us that the petition didn't go to the consulate in my country yet.

My question is what can I do with the case number now while waiting for the arrival of the petition ? Can I proceed with the DS-160 application or Should I wait till I get contacted by the consulate in my country.

    Thank you.
