Do you guys think I need a lawyer? $5000 seems like a lot of money just to advise me on how to tell them about this.

Based on your description and from the stories I've read here for 4 years, I'd say you have a pretty good shot at being approved assuming you and your partner have no other immigration red flags. I don't believe robbery is necessarily a Crime of Moral Turpitude, which I believe is the standard. You'll want to disclose everything about the arrest and charge in your application. Good luck.
Other red flags? Well my fiancee only got her divorce finalised Oct 2017 so not sure there. The only other thing I can think off is I claimed welfare a few years ago but since those days I've been to college and now I'm working full time.

Hi everybody,
I'm hoping to find some kind of answer here. I'm the beneficiary living in the UK. I was arrested and charged with robbery 4 years ago but the charges dropped. The charges were dropped because this happened whilst I was going through some heavy withdrawal of prescription drugs used to treat a disease I have (not mental illness). After a long year of going to court (Never went to trial) and after being examined by numerous expert witnesses (Doctors, Neurologists & Psychiatrists) they deemed it "Non-Insane autonomism". This happened 4 years ago. I haven't had a brush with the law before or after this and I don't suffer from any form of any mental illness. Also might be worth mentioning I was never held in jail or any kind of institution.
