Nice surprise this morning...
"On November 7, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS."
I'm hoping we can see some action on all the others that got the 10/19 touch.
-
We've been in a holding pattern since getting transferred to CSC, other than a touch back on 10/19 that many others got as well.
Last night I got an email saying:
"On November 3, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
Took a bit longer than if we had been processed locally with the interview, etc, but in the end worth saving the hassle of that.
I expect that it will take the entire 60 days to get that card here! LoL
-
We were also among the CSC transferred cases and the 10/19 touches, and I was wondering if someone just kicked the box back into the corner, but last night I got an email saying:
"On November 3, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."
So, get ready, they actually opened the boxes!

1. Send another one. Get a certified copy, why risk it?
2. Don't know what happened to the first one
3. Doesn't matter what happened to the first one
4. Send another one. Get a certified copy, why risk it?
5. When you order the certificate...order 6.
This pretty much sums up what you need to do dealing with USCIS. Someone ought to add this to one of the guides hehe

Got a touch today just after noon. First since 8/10. Cell phone alert worked nice actually, which was a little surprising.

Not totally on topic, but an FYI to anyone preparing for biometrics appt soon...
My wife had all the docs they requested on the appt letter, but they also asked for our marriage certificate in order to substantiate her name change. As we were K-1, this seemed to be an odd request, as we had her K1 petition in her maiden name, and filed I-485 in her new name, with the copy of the cert filed along with the I-485.
While odd, this was not a big deal, as I always bring along my binder of all docs of this type anyway when dealing with these matters, so I could present a copy of the cert and the original certified copy that they could examine--and it was no problem at all.
I don't know what would have happened if I'd not had that with me, but I suspect there would be a 50-50 chance of getting the fingerprinting done that day. I'd have hated to make that drive again just for that...
Anyway...anyone with K-1 that involves a name change due to marriage--you may need your marriage cert, even though it is obvious from the K1 process why the name changed. You might be able to argue it, but just having it there with you will save all that and get you out of there as quickly as possible.

Another filer checking in...
Filed - 7/3, NOA - 7/10
Good luck to us all!!

Well Packet 3 says 4-6 months for an interview, but the average for others going through Montreal is 2-3 months wait. There are many people who send back their packet 3 at the end of September still waiting for an interview right now. Montreal is pretty slow.
Well...boooooo!! LoLoL
Ahh well, like I said, I'm getting used to having to wait 2-3 months for just about everything now.
-
I send back my Packet 3 checklist last night... and now we wait... should be another 2-3 months until we get an interview. I'm hoping for a late February interview but it could even be March or April... we shall see!
Keep posting your progress.
We are going through Montreal also, though it will be a little bit--she's got a few police clearances to get from Hong Kong, etc.--but it will be helpful to see how long it takes for you to get interview after they get your packet 3. I was thinking more like a month, not 2-3, but...whatever LoL Getting numb to the waiting at this point.
-
Sounds like NVC is getting wise to the fact that they are becoming the front desk for CIS...
-
...Counting sec to sec .. minute to minute. ...& Waiting for mail man to Bring my NOA2 Hard Copy I haven't start even my I-134 n all other things...Don't know what to do. so just waiting for mail man now.....
Thanks all for being with me..
I really hope you get that hard copy in the next couple of days. Use that escalation method Mike posted about to talk to a supervisor if it does not come by Friday. Hopefully they will see that their systems problems are not justification for charging you for another copy and making you wait for it.
And you need NOA2 letter, not another NVC letter!!! LoL I got 3 of those NVC letters myself.
Probably your packet 3 will come in a week or so, depending on how quickly they can put it together and get it to you.
Hang in there & Good luck!
Maybe some mad smileys will help the letter come

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratzzzzzzzzzz!!!
Sheesh!! Approved nearly a week and no way to know it with all their system problems!
Ahh well, at least that part is over with good result, and on to the rest of it!! Good luck!!!!

Hey everyone. I decided to try and sleep in late this morning and no luck. I tried not to think about this waiting game. I decided to call my significant other. He is way more patient than I am and always says don't worry we will get the approval soon. I decided to take a quick road trip after checking USCIS website this morning and found nothing has changed. I didn't even wait for the mail to come.
But then.........................................I just got home @ 11:00 pm and checked my mail. Whooooooooooooooohooooooooooo!
WE GOT OUR APPROVAL! NO touches online. Website still reflects a last touch of 07/10/08. I keep trying to call that lazy boy but he won't wake up. I kept him on the phone so late whoops.
I'm off to update my timeline! Thank VJ for this wonderful site. I was beginning to think I screwed up the paperwork!
Congratzzzz!!!
CIS has a way of knowing you are just about at the point of giving up, and then they come through hehe
Maybe they track how many times you've hit the site to check status, and then when you finally hit 15,000, you get your approval.
I know I checked status at least that many times
Good luck with the rest of it!!

WHATTT????? Couldn't you argue that you DON'T have an atty????
Yea, you'd think that, and I have. The problem here is that my case is now with the consulate, so I have to deal with them. I have emailed them about the problem, and hopefully they will fix it. In the meantime, I hope that attorney will cooperate with me in getting me those materials, so that I don't lose a lot of time.
I don't want to get to pushy with the staff at the consulate. It wasn't their mistake...must have been CIS or NVC...and I have to interview there hehe , so I don't want to cause too much of a stink. Just want to kindly request that the error be corrected so that materials go to us, and not some attorney.
Just would be so much easier if I could talk to someone on the phone. Email is OK, but you never know when someone is going to handle it, and when they are going to get around to telling you about it.
Ahh well...always something, but it will get handled.

WE INDEED HAVE GOTTEN APPROVED!!!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!
You two have paid your dues the past few weeks...you deserve to roll right on through now!
Best wishes for smooth sailing through the rest of it!!

Hello Every One,,,
We got our NOA2 last night,, I receive a email around 11:00 PM that Petition for fiancee have been approved.
Congratzzzz!!!!
Good luck on the rest of it!! Christmas together would be nice!
-
Mike & Gracey will appreciate this LoL
I found out a few days back that there was an attorney noted on my case!!! I've never hired an attorney at any point of this. So NVC tells me they are done with the case, and I have to deal with Montreal. OK, so I go to call them to get the name taken off my case.
Montreal accepts no phone calls!! Lovely...
So I email them that the attorney needs to be removed from my case, since I never had one, and I wanted to check that the Packet 3 was still coming to my fiancee... So I wait a couple of days, and finally get an email back from them. They say nothing about correcting the error, but they do send a nice little message...
Good afternoon
A package of documents was sent out to your attorney on November 6th
IV Montreal
O...M...G....
So now I'm calling the attorney and emailing him to see if his office has received these things, and see if he'll send them to me. Also trying to get Montreal to do its thing and send a new packet out to her. Also wondering if either of these things can be done before the end of the year...
Just when you think you're over the hump... LoLoLoL

were going to have to pick up on or posts lol, july is already on page 90 something, we havent even got to 70 pages yet.
Our month was a pretty quiet group, up until VSC started working near us, and we were getting close to our estimated dates. We seemed to be more patient and resigned to the process.
That all changed when VSC got a few and then took a few weeks off. We made up some time with the screaming and ranting, but, yea, we are still a little light in the post count.
I'll take the opportunity to lay a few more of these down:
-
I just called USCIS and they said the approval was mailed on 11-10-08. This is after I just called yesterday to check so apparently it takes a couple of days for it to update. We are so very happy, can't wait to get the hard copy in our hands. Thank you all so much for your kind loving support and we hope you all get your approvals very soon!!!
Mike&Gracey
Congratzzzzzzzzzz!!!
So glad to hear this! Good luck with the rest of it!

Hey guys! I'm in korea right now and wait for next flight to fly to US. Yeah!!!!I'm gonna be with my love soon. Hope you guys get earlier interview.
Good Luck
Pook
Great!!! This is what all the waiting and worrying was for! Good luck!!
-
Wow!! It appears some of you were approved maybe sometime early last week! The notifications are nonsensical at the moment. The old mailbox seems to be the frontline of notification technology now. LoL
Congratzzzz to the new approvals!!
To those still waiting =>
-
yep i was hoping so also. maybe some more arrived and they just havent posted yet.
This was always aggravating...when it seemed that CIS was just taking a week off K's to work on other things. Hopefully, some will get notices Mon or Tues, having been approved, but just bad notifications.
To make up for CIS system problems, NVC goes overboard. Today I got my third letter in the mail from NVC saying they forwarded my case to the embassy. LoL
-
Well i sure hope that some others got good news in the mail today. Your right coaster, seems that always some part of the notification always fails some times 2 parts. But waiting on the postman to bring notifications is the absolute slowest method, I would say most unrealiable but it appears the post office is better than email and web updates. Good luck everyone still waiting.
Yea, and then sometimes it works too well--today I got my second NVC letter in the mail. Oh well, whatever hehe

Ok...
So this morning I get an email saying that a notice of approval has been mailed.
This afternoon, the green card is in the mail...
I'm happy, but I'll never understand how this works LoL
