  1. Hi All,

My wife entered the states on the 18 july on a K-3 and she told me that the man at the embassy in bangkok gave her a DS-156K form and told her to send it back to the embassy when she got to the states. My question is this normal or do I need to worry about it because we are applying for her AOS?

    Thanks for all the help,

    Nick

  2. Hi all, this is my first post so i hope i do it right, anyways to get to the point, I have a girl friend that is from the philippines and is now working and living in Dubai UAE, we met online and have chatted and talked on the phone now for awhile long story short, we would like to meet in person and take this relationship to the next level, and possibly pursue the K1 visa, but first we need to meet in person as part of one of the requirements of the K1 visa right, so can she come here to the USA on a visitors visa for us to meet, instead of me going there or what can i expect with her applying for a visitors visa. Just wondering what the best course of action is here any input would be greatly appreciated.

Sense it is easier for you to travel to other coutries than it is for her due to the fact that it takes so long to get a visa for countries that do not have the visa wavier program. I would say go see her and have a good time.

  3. I called today to CSC because I had an address change. I was already approved on May 23rd. She took down the information. I asked her if I had to call NVC and she suggested I call them with the change of address. I asked her if my paperwork was sent out yet, and she told me it would take about 3 months to go from CSC to NVC. I told her that I will call NVC in a month with the change. She told me" I strongly suggest you call today to update your information" I called NVC and talked to the woman and told her my information, and she muttered"You called in the nick of time" This led me to ask if NVC had already received my info, she said it arrived on the 29th, which was yesterday. I also asked her if they had a reference number for my case, and she gave me my MNL#. I ( Like a fool) went and checked the embassy website for an appointment date, no such luck.

If she gave me a MNL#, does that mean my case is OK to be forwarded to Manila? If it does mean the case is OK to be forwarded, what should I be doing to be prepared for the next steps? :help:

Now you wait. The NVC sends the application to the embassy. Then the embassy will do their thing and send a packet 3 to your wife outlining everything she has to have forms, medical, and police report. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3217.html Go to the manila embassy websit and it tells you everything that you need. Start now but don't send anything until asked by the embassy. you are almost there. :dancing:

  4. We are almost finished with the NVC using the I-130 that was approved back in March. I just sent my I-864 package and now waiting on the DS-230 to be generated. One more form then it gets shipped to the Embassy in Manila.

Now I receive this letter today (like a few other VJ'ers) from the NVC stating that in one week they will forward my approved I-129F petition to Manila for processing. Should I stop this from happening? We just want our I-130 to finish its course.

I don't want the I-129F to arrive at the Embassy before the I-130 gets completed. What happens if it does? Should I email them to stop the I-129F? Do I still need the I-129F for some reason or another?

What would Visa Journey do? (WWVJD) :D

I would continue the K-3 as well as the I-130. My buddy went through the same thing as you but then his I-130 just stopped going so smooth. I was about 1 month behind him then my wifes k-3 went through. He then picked up with the k-3 and now both of our wifes sent in their packet 3 today. he still hasn't heard anything else from the nvc. What I'm trying to say is that is that the k-3 will get her here sooner.

  5. This sucks. As ya'll can see I married on 10 Aug 06. Me and the wife had the police report done then and only took 5 days. Now being so long in the process we thought we would get another one because now we need it for her packet 3 and the other one was old. now this is week 5 and still no report. What is going on in the bangkok police department.

  6. As you can see we have a K3 on the 16th and CR1 on the 30th. We obviously want the CR1. Do we just simply ignore the K3 visa interview and go on teh 30th? Or can we \ should we go on the 16th and TRY to get a CR1 instead? Would there be any implications? We don't want any troubles.

Is it still good that we pay that 100 dollar fee for K3 anyway? Just to cover bases?

    Orimai

go to both. if she gets the k3 but not the cr1 for some reason she can come to the states. if she passes on both then travelon the cr1 and not the k3. if she travels on the k3 you will have to do a aos for the cr1. what is 2 more weeks. you have gone this far already.

  7. why is it so complicated to US's citizan to bring there wives to the US.

I filed for my wife I 130 last october 2006, I get the receip number and that's it. how come some of the people get approved in couple month and I when I call Vermont they say they still processing march12.

I didn't file for 129f because I guess it will take the same time. what should I do? help.

file for your 129 quick. good to have two things for the same goal because the most inportant thing is not with you right now.

  8. I am ready to send my N-400. I got 2 passport style photos and tried to write my name and A number on the back with pencil. It was not easy. I had to press a little. Now, you can see both my name and my name embedded on the picture from the front side. I saw instructions and it says "write light in pencil". I got another set of photos and it was the same. Has anyone had the same problem? Can they return my application because it is not really "written light"?

    Thanks for your comments.

dude don't sweat it. It happens. it is just there if some retard drops all the paperwork on the ground with 15 other applications or they can't tell who is the man and who is the chick in the photo. did it on mine and not a problem yet.

  9. What do I do to get the wife here the quickest? My I-130 got approved and forwarded to the NVC but have not heard anything back. Got notice on the I-129F stating that they need the G-325A and passport photos. What do I do for the quickest way to get her here?
