Yeah she's legally residing in Argentina with a full time job and school so good to know that she wouldn't have to jump through the hoops in Venezuela since she doesn't live there. Do you know where I can find any information stating this? I've looked around on https://my.uscis.gov/ but can't find anything specific

At least that's the case with refugees legally residing in a country other than the one in which they have citizenship. I've heard of it holding true for students and workers too, though. Provided she is living in Argentina legally and has paperwork proving as such, your fiancée should be able to go through the embassy in Argentina without a problem. Just make sure she won't have to return to live in Venezuela during the process, otherwise you may have to change embassies.

Thanks for the info! She's been living in Argentina for the past 20 months going to school and working a full time job so she's there legally and won't be going back to Venezuela. That's why I wanted to make sure that she would be able to use the embassy in Argentina

My girlfriend (soon to be fiance hopefully) is from Venezuela but has been living in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the past 20 months. In about 4 months she will have permanent residency in Argentina. My question is, which Embassy would handle the paperwork on her end with a K1 VISA? Would she have to go back to Venezuela and use that embassy since she is from there or would the embassy in Buenos Aires be used? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
