Im a Canadian Citizen but went through the k1 visa now got a CF1 category. I just want some help regarding the process on how to move back in Canada.. So here's the rundown:
- I receive my CF1 card last May 2017 and already 1 year here in the US.
-Got my SSN also May 2017
But because of some issues I need to go back to canada and look for a work in there again coz I cant seem to get any work here in the US on where I am located and I want to help my husband to pay some bills so we need to sacrifice a little bit and that's why we came up with this decision. And we decided that my husband would move to Canada permanently with me after paying all of the bills.
- Question is, when I move back to Canada, where should I hand over my GC? Or Can I just go to the US embassy in Toronto to abandon my status as a temporary resident later on? ( I saw on some of the.comments here that they should hand it on the border but should it be when I go back to the US again as a visitor? Or we can just tell it to the port of entry in canada?)
- How bout the SSN that they gave me? Should I call the social security office that I am moving back in canada? And abandoning my status as a temporary permanent resident?
Any information regarding these would be a very big help.
