Really? So does that mean it's "ready"? The online status still says "At NVC" so that's why I'm confused...
the nvc research makes it sound like the status should be ready , maybe they have not updated it yet , it seems people are skipping in transit and going directly to ready keep the faith

Wow we have same date nvc dec 20 and same country of benificiary which is Ph but our status still "at nvc" Do you received already an instruction letter from nvc? Do I need to submit my DS 160 to make this process quick from nvc to USEM?
we did not receive instruction letter yet ... my lady says to fill it out DS 160 when you get the packet from the embassy .. Hope that helps and you get the ready message very soon

according to the visa journey historical timeline it is taking 5 days to process at the NVC so maybe 2.5 days to 7.5 business days is normal now. I guess it depends on how many they received on Dec 20th how that average is going to move

I called today, also NVC number from Dec 20 - it is still in the NVC and they do not give any time frame how long it can stay there....
with the way things are going I would say longer than a month ago, but I could be wrong ..I figure with holiday, the fact they receive in batches and every other stage has slowed I was hoping it would be in transit by the end of the 1st week in January but will be happy if its this week

I got my case number last week on Dec. 20, and I just called NVC to ask for an update, and they said my case is under AP... When I look at the online tracker, it just says "at NVC". Does anyone know if everyone undergoes AP at NVC? Not sure if i'm in for another hellishly long wait or not...
I heard they do one last background check on the beneficiary, then send it on to the embassy.
So I think yes everyone goes thru it

Looks like 2 more people with NOA2 from Oct 30 got a case number Monday and yesterday:

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=270898
So what I want to know is, were they in the same shipment with people with NOA2s from Oct 30 who got their case number a week ago? Was NVC slow to process them? Or did USCIS not sent all Oct 30 petitions at the same time?
good question ....I was born on the North Shore in Lynn

what's the approval date for NOA2?
the letter is dated October 28th , the online approval says October 30th ....

Received an email from NVC research says they recently received my petition and expect instructions within 4 to 5 weeks and to email in 5 weeks if nothing received.
is that the normal response from them or is 4 - 5 weeks the new normal to get a case number ?

Approved October 30th. No number yet from NVC. Called NVC and the man told me that he had a similar scenario where someone had been waiting this long and finally got a USCIS officer to admit that their case had only been sent over a week prior. I then called USCIS and they were "unable to tell me if it had been sent to NVC yet". I find it odd how some officers have access to this information and some dont....or are they not willing to disclose it? OR do they really have no idea what they are looking for!?
I feel your pain I spent 20 minutes on the phone asked 3 times if they had mailed my case to NVC and I was told 3 times they mailed me the approval , when I asked to speak to a supervisor the agent refused , asked for a tier 2 and they again refused and told me due to call volume I should try again tomorrow .

I ‘think’ they ask what the first paragraph states in the letter because some NOA2s state that their approval has been sent directly to the consulate for interview, and not the NVC? Although I’ve not heard of anyone actually bypassing the NVC yet, but it may indicate something to them.
Did the call handler say anything else to you?
She was trying to be helpful, but simply had no information. She suggested I email NVC research again.

That's so shitty I'm so sorry. Especially since I saw someone else with your NOA2 date who got their case number already...
I think it's the luck of the draw, it really would not surprise me if everyone who seems to be delayed had the same case worker approve the I 29F.

Did anyone else try calling NVC today?
Yes ,
now they like to ask me , " can you please tell me what the first paragraph of your letter says "
we might mail your approval, we may not , please be advised we will say normal time is 4-6 weeks and if we exceed 6 weeks we will just add more weeks at our discretion oh and there is nothing you can do about it.
do they not log your inquiry ?
Happy Holidays good luck everyone

At this point I don't expect anything to have changed but I call NVC daily just for fun.
The NVC agent told me she had heard my same approval date several times just today and to fill out NVC search so they can find out where the files are at an the reason NVC doesn't have them.
Status changed to "Application Received" from "Ready"
