  1. Hello Visa Journey Members:

How hard it is to get a visa for my 60 years old mom from Morocco? Anyone else ran into the same process? I heard it is not tough to get a visitor's visa when you hit certain age. My wife and I, both are citizens, own a house and have jobs. My mom is a widowe and is a homemaker. Love my mom and can't wait for her to visit us to meet my children.

Please reply if you had to go through the same process as well,

    Thanks,

  2. I have been thinking about brining my 60-year-old mother to visit us here in the U.S for sometime now, and I didn't know if anyone else on here has gone through the same process. My mom went to visit my sister in Switzerland last year for a month with no problems. I didn’t know how it works from Morocco to the U.S though. I am a U.S citizen and so is my wife and children!

Any advices here would be much appreciate, Thank you!

  3. Dear VJ members,

I have been reading about this topic for a while now and couldn't help notice many of the comments and responses in this forum about getting married within the Islamic religion and Laws, even though some of the people here also have asked on what to do when you are or getting married to a US citizen. What's next and what to do in an Islamic country or in a Mosque within a foreigner country..is your husband or wife Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Buddhist etc...

For the last couple of years I've been hearing some crazy stuff around here about religion and Citizenship from different people, I finally realize that the same law will apply to every case within the US and varies from a foreigner Country to another.

I've perhaps read most Holly Books from the " Koran (Arabic, al-Qur'an) " to the " Old & New Testament " and " Talmud " and it seems to me that they all fall within the same Law with some minor changes due to cultural backgrounds, Lands and people.

I always believed and still do, that I shall respect everyone Else's religion and understand the purpose behind their believes and practices and give them space to do so, as along as there is no harm to it. People should practice their religion FREELY no matter what is their races and backgrounds.

I read a book and watch a show once about some random person who use to hate "Muslims" for no reason, and Realizes after he grow older that people resented him for his behavior and got lonely. He finally admitted to himself and the world that " It was wrong ".

Let's get back to our issue here which is " What can we do to make our Marriage Legal according to the Islamic Laws " question.

Well, If you are in a Muslim Country than most likely you need to register within the " Court House " and the " Township " That you are married. and the way to do that is by Following those steps:

    1) You need to provide a Location within that specific Country and prove that you lived and or your family did live there. The only person that can provide you with that is a person that the state hires to gather " Intel " for them and make sure that everything goes legally and " Truly " You were living there.

    2) After you Prove that you were living within that location than you need to get your Birth Certificate from the Township " I'm assuming if you were born there than it should be there right? " Get 2 Copies just in case. Usually you have to pay stamp FEES.

3)Before you left your Home Country, You had to have an Identity Card which is required by every country once you hit certain Age " Usually 18 or 17 " in some cases 16.

    4) Make Copy of everything and head to your Township so they can issue a " CERTIFICATE OF RESIDENCY "

    5) Once You get that Look for a " Court House ". In any Court house there is a section for " Marriages "..Go there and ask them for the required documentations to register a marriage, They usually will give you a form filled with what you need to gather and submit to them.

    6) The Paperwork will include a paper that states if you are single or married. If you are single than you fill in Single, If you are married than you provide them with the " marriage certification " translated to whatever language your country speaks and writes.

    7) Now, every Muslim Country has its own Laws and regulations but they are perhaps " ALL " Fall into the same thing. You take your Wife, Fiance with you to the court house and they will refer you to a person that is certified by the Court house and is allowed to perform the Ceremony. Most of the time, they'll ask for witnesses from both parties unless they can't be present from one side or the female is old enough to sign her own paperwork.." They Just want to make sure it's not a scam and that both families are aware of the marriage " I'm guessing that's not a hard thing to prove if you are really in love..A Letter from a father or a mother, friend etc...

    8) The Person who will perform the ceremony will ask some basic questions for the records and wrap up everything and sign the paperwork for you.

Now, As far as the " PRIEST " " IMAM " " MOSQUE " ..etc I will not put much thoughts into that, and the reason I'm saying that is because most of those religious people will have their own version of who marries what and what's needed to make " THE CHURCH " bless your marriage.

Most people get into the trap of " AM I DOING THE RIGHT THING " " WILL MY FAMILY AGREES " " WILL PEOPLE BE HAPPY " " WILL I GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL " " SHOULD I GET MARRIED IN A CHURCH OR A MOSQUE " " SHOULD I INVITE MUSLIM, JEWISH, CHRISTIANS OR BUDDHISTS " " SHOULD I..SHOULD I "

The answer is no, you don't need to make anyone happy but follow your heart and do the right thing..The Holly Books and the prophets came to this word with positive things..make people's lives much clearer and happier..Helping people through their issue and facing their fears..But SOME humans took those thoughts and twist it around for their own benefits and also to control people.

A Priest didn't get power from anyone so is the Imam or any kind of holly man. Get your story together and believe in your faith and go marry the person you love..We are in 2012 and you need to enter every document in the records within the township so you have access to it and not in the church.

Good Luck to you all and excuse my English

  7. I was wondering if I won’t have any trouble removing my condition next couple of months especially I don’t have a job right now.

I’ve been trying over a year and half now with no luck, I tried for anything but it seems that the job market right now is really bad, I also have thousands of emails from people and companies answering with Sorry we can’t help.

Please answer my question and I will appreciate it.

    Thank you.

  8. We sent our medical RFE on June 27, but they didn't send an email that they got it ("case resumed") until July 13. We were worried when it took so long (especially since the "return receipt" never came from the postal service).

The good news is that we got our "card production ordered" email on July 18!

I know every case is different, but I wish you best of luck that yours ends up being similar to ours!

    Mirlana

  9. Hi,

I'm in the same situation, i just got RFE for I-693 form, i don't know what to do.

I'm not sure what your RFE says, but ours specifically states that the medical papers (DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025, and DS-3026) are missing from his file at USCIS, so we need an I-693 (even though it's been less than a year since his medical exam in Morocco, we have no proof on paper). Some people have gotten a form letter that is actually asking just for the I-693A (vaccine supplement). I'm not sure of the wording on those - some people make it sound like it's kind of confusing the way it's written.

My suggestion is to first make sure exactly what they want - the I-693 medical exam, the I-693A vaccine supplement, or both.

If they want the I-693A, that's easy - just get whatever forms you have that prove the vaccines were given, and then get a civil surgeon to transfer the information to the I-693A form. I think the DS-3025 is the form that has the vaccination information. We didn't get one of those, but we did get a note from the doctor stating that he got the vaccines, and the civil surgeon accepted it. If you don't have/can't get the DS-3025, can't get anything from the doctor, or the civil surgeon won't accept a handwritten note, then I guess you'll have to get blood work done (titers) to prove immunity, or get the vaccines redone (unless someone else has another idea).

If they want the I-693 (our current concern), the only choices are to track down the medical papers (if you don't have them), or pay for another medical exam. After reading what others have had to say, and thinking about it for a few days, I've come up with a few ideas that you could try:

1 - if you have the medical exam papers, get a civil surgeon to transfer the information to an I-693 form (not an option for us - we don't have the papers)

2 - call the doctor who did the exam, and ask for a copy (mailed and/or faxed), then have the CS transfer the info (the one Mirlan went to said he was instructed not to give copies to the applicants, and is not permitted to keep records - I know, sounds like BS to me, but there's nothing we can do, except to complain)

3 - contact the embassy/consulate to ask if they still have the papers (we emailed them - no response yet)

4 - call USCIS and ask if they can check both files (I think someone called them the 'permanent' and 'temporary' files) to see if maybe the medical papers are just in the other file (hey, it's worth a try)

5 - make an InfoPass appointment, point out that there's no way a visa would be issued without a medical exam, mention that it's been less than a year since the exam was performed and you really hope to avoid having to pay again for what should be an unnecessary exam, and ask them to please please PLEASE look through the files to try to locate the original one (you never know.....)

6 - contact your congressman for assistance - maybe he/she can persuade them (better than we can) to look through the files to find the missing papers (just got a letter from mine today)

7 - if all else fails, but definitely before the RFE deadline, cry and complain about the cost but still schedule another medical exam (we scheduled one in advance, just in case)

I don't know how helpful this will be to you, or anyone else in this situation. What we're trying to remember (since this whole process is so irritating) is that this RFE is no problem. Our only concern is how to avoid paying even MORE money, especially since we really shouldn't have to. As much as we don't want to empty our pockets AGAIN, this is not a situation that will result in a denial. (yeah, it still sucks, though)

Best of luck, and keep us updated!

  10. Hi everyone!

We Receive a request for evidence I-485 saying that the office USCIS is unable to complete the processing of my application because they need the Medical examination (Form I-693) , and they Say that i enter the United state With a valid K-1 Visa and All records relating to me have been reviewed .

The US departement Says Also That medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025, and the DS-3026 are not in any of my Records.

And apparently the USCIS lost my Medical Exam that i had in Morocco and we know that there is no way that i enter the US without a medical exam by one of the Doctors that The Consulate Listed for you.

I contact the Doctor By Phone and he told me that he don’t keep any records of medical exams , and that he have instructions from the consulate to not give any information’s to anyone because the Result must sent in a soled envelop to the consulate .

We have the I-693A that I made in the US, and it coast more than 300 $ for a complete medical exam (meaning the Form I-693) or One of those the US lost DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025, and the DS-3026 and I live in Area where things are really expensive, plus it is to far to find a cheaper CS.

I really don’t know what to do?

Is anyone of you has the same Situation like me?

If so ….any Help or Suggestions or Help

    Thanks in advance for everyone.

    Mirlan

  11. yes Please!

i want to know if i Will Travel to my mother Country With an advance paroles What are my chances to get back to Us from Morocco

    Thanks for Advance

PS:/ Some people Say that they are not Sur how it's Work and Give advices to take my marriage licence With me but iam Worried that they Will not Allow me to Come back to the US in the Aireport

Hope this is Clear thanks again

  12. We tried XOOM, Western Union, and Moneygram. Then we got smart and I opened a new account at my bank (USAA) and sent him the ATM card for it. Not only was he able to instantly get money from the account any time he wanted, but it was only a dollar or two per transaction, and he could just get small amounts frequently instead of carrying around a bunch of cash. I also did paperwork (it took a little time) to get him added to the account while he was still in Morocco. That joint account was one more thing to show at his visa interview as proof of our relationship. Plus, it was one less thing to do once he got here. USAA is used to dealing with situations like this - they cater to people in the military, who are often in other parts of the world AND many times meet their future spouses in those other countries. I'm sure other banks would work, too, but you might have to check around a little.
