  1. Hello all,

I asked this question in the general thread and was advised to come to the 'straya sub-forum, so here I am

My question is that I am petitioning my Fiance to come to California from Melbourne.

Due to finishing up school last year and only working part time during it, I didn't make the minimum financial requirements during the 2017 tax year.

With my current job, however, I do make enough money. Will it be necessary to have someone cosign for us, even though I make enough money now?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

  2. Hello, I'm back with more questions.

I just got my W2's and due to me having finished up college last year, I didn't work full time for much of the year and only made about $13k. I now have a somewhat better job that would put me over the minimum threshold to not need a person to cosign on my fiance coming from Australia.

My question is, do you show proof of financial responsibility using previous W2's? Because if so, I did not make enough money. I am unclear how that process works in the visa journey.

    Thank you all!

Edit: I am in California petitioning for my Australian fiance to come here to the States.

  3. Hello all,

You've been a great help to me in this confusing journey to get this i-129f form together, but I have one last question.

What should I put the packet in before I ship it?

Should I keep in all loose paper, or 3 hole punch everything and put it in a binder?

    Separate with manila folders?

These seems like a minor detail but I don't want to screw it up!

    Thank you in advanced!

The Texas lockbox where you mail the form is fine.

It will be sent to California (CSC) anyway. Petitions that don't need an interview (like an I-129F) will be handled by a Service Center, and the only Service Center handling new I-129Fs for a K-1 is CSC (barring transfers, which are uncommon).

    Awesome, Thank you!

    Where To File ->

File Form I-129F at the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility:
    For U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

    USCIS
    P.O. Box 660151
    Dallas, TX 75266

For FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:
    USCIS
    Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
    Suite 400
    Lewisville, TX 75067

    What exactly is unclear?

I have a question. I'm using the guides on here, and on the template Letter of Intent (http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Fiance_Letter_of_Intent.doc) It says I should put the filing address. This is the Texas address you listed right? Not my closest immigration office which would be in Los Angeles. Thank you:)

The answer to that will depend on who you ask and the circumstances of thee individuals. IMO, there's no good generic answer.

I'm one that believes less is more, so you make a bigger impact with just giving them what they want, when they want it. With the embassy my then-fiancee went through, front-loading wasn't needed so we didn't do so. If somebody was going through a high fraud embassy, frontloading is highly suggested (or worse) as it is believed the COs review and form an initial opinion before the actual interview.

That said, if in doubt then there's little risk in sending anything. Just know anything you send can also be used against you...so just be prudent with sending things that are solely helpful (i.e. sending 500 pages of chat logs will never fully be read but could be cherry-picked and asked about).

She's coming to the US from Australia, so I don't think that would be considered a High-fraud country, but I'll keep that in mind. Thank you!
