    Hi File is with NVC waiting for police report and ds260 etc. How much time do they give before they close the case? There is some issue that came up. Elderly parent with serious health issues. Cant leave them for atleast 6 months or more. What happens to the case? Can i continue after 6 months and send police report and get interview date? Is there an expiry date to the application? Will they abandon the case?

    Applied Dec 2 2023 Approved March 10 2025 What is the next step now? Do we just wait for NVC to receive file? Anything else.

    I am applying for CR1 visa. I applied in Dec 2023 and just received approval. So the next step is they pass the file to NVC? How long does it take for them to receive the file? I dont need to do anything for now right? I wait for them to send letter and instructions?

    How did you all file your tax return as married or single? From immigration point of view would it be an issue to file as single? Since hes never been to usa and doesnt have ssn etc not sure if it will accept as married.
