  1. I have found the prices for PAL is higher buying it here in the states. The easiest way is to send her the money. But you can purchase Cebu Pacific online, but you have to use Mastercard. She will have to pay 200 pesos tax each way for domestic terminal fee. When she flies international she will pay 750 pesos terminal fee when flying out of manila to USA.

  2. Hi everyone,

YES!! My baby panda had her interview yesterday and was approved! Thank you God! She was able to get a visa pickup at the Embassy as well. Thanks to VisaJourney and all the members here who have helped with their insightful information, advice, and well wishes. Without this site and other site's like this, our journey would probably have been more challenging.

The prescreeners asked her more questions than the actual Consulates. The prescreener was a filipina.

These were most of the questions the prescreener asked her:

    • What is your finace's age, How did we meet, What is his job, How long she has been working abroad
    • NBI Clearance, CENOMAR, Police Clearance
    • Photos, Letters & Cards, and E-mails

I say Consulates because when she interviewed with the COs, there were two of them conducting her interview. I asked her why there were two and she said it seemed like one was training the other. She also told me that the lady next to her also had two COs conducting interviews.

    They asked her:

    • What is your name?
    • What is you fiance's name?
    • How did you meet?
Then, that was it! The consular told her to have a seat and wait for her number. She then gave the letter by me requesting for Visa pickup at the Embassy. The CO said he couldn't guarantee it but she was given the pink slip anyways. The CO also stamped "DONE" on all the paperwork. She told me that the other ladies she went with also had the word "DONE" stamped on their paperwork as well--She meet up with four other ladies. Hope this is just the same as approved. I think so because she still walked away with the pink slip! She asked the guard about the pink slip. And, the guard replied that she was very lucky to schedule a pickup. There were very few who got to arrange a pickup. Horray!

My last bit of advice to all those with upcoming interviews is to stay positive, remain calm, be confident, and you will do well. Being overly prepared makes the interview experience A LOT easier than not. Best wishes and good luck to all upcoming interviewees!

Congrats to you Both!!!:dance::dance: I am very happy to hear the good news!!!! Well Now you have to go plan a wedding!!!!:thumbs:

  3. I am worried it is a little dark. It was taken from a digital camera but it appears a little dark. Is it OK to send with the I-129F?

It is better to spend a few bucks and get it done as someone suggested (walgreens). To save a couple of bucks may cost you time in processing your K1. Your going to wait as it is, no need to put yourself behind the eight ball.

    Welcome to VJ!!!

  4. I talked to that guy once. He asked me if I was crazy! He said with so many women in the Philippines, why would I choose one that had a child? He suggested I dump Mary and go out to one of the provinces and get me one without kids. That was the first time and the last time I talked to him.If he treated my Mary like a commodity, imagine what he would have done with the paperwork?

I am just glad that I did not use him. He takes advantage of people and that is not right. I agree, and this is one person you do not want to use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ranting::ranting::protest::protest:

 hopefully anybody considering using him will see this thread and avoid him like the plague...

I really hope you are correct. All I can do is my part in helping others from losing their money and time.

  7. Called CSC today, with my lawyer, spoke to the lady with the indian sounding accent others have reported talking to, she said "Your case is already with the officer and you should have a decision today" She was very pleasant to us, I suspect having an attorney on the line makes for better conversation.

Here's hoping she's accurate, this wait is killing us.

    :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Hang in there!! You will get your approval soon!! Wish you luck on your journey!

  9. In our eticket, we paid these...

    U.S. Customs User Fee: 5.50

    U.S. Immigration User Fee:7.00

    U.S. APHIS User Fee: 5.00

    U.S. Federal Transportation Tax: 15.10

    U.S. Security Service Fee: 5.00

    U.S. Passenger Facility Charge: 4.50

Does this mean, no more taxes for us except for the MNL taxes?

You are correct! You will only have to pay Philippine taxes. Other taxes incurred in the US are already added to the price of the ticket. Have a nice trip!!

  10. Anything other than bt-store.com out there? Anyone know any discount agents? I wish i could fly to Cebu for the same price as some of the Manila fairs... Best I had so far was my 1st trip. $1300 round trip... I wish i could fly for around $900!!!

I do not exactly know the prices right now for trips to Cebu, but I use a travel agent you can call. His name is Luis with festival of asia, (415) 564-3672. He has always, gotten me the lowest fare out there. Hope it helps.

  11. Congrats to you Charlie and MJ!!! I know it was a hard journey, and the important thing is that you passed and went through it together. One day, you will be able to tell your children about this journey. Not many people are willing to go through all of this in the name of love. I guess like the U.S.Marines commercial, we are the few and the proud!!!So continued success on the rest of your journey!!!

  12. Aloha kakou,

The I-94 - is that given to Joan during the flight or at the POE (either Guam or Honolulu)?

    Mahalo,

    Bill and Joan

    JoanBill,

Typically custumcustomss/immigration forms are given to passengers on the flight to the POE...

She would explicitly request one from a flight attendant?

The flight attendants will have the forms she needs. They will help her decide which one she will need. She will have to fill out at least 2, the I-94 and the customs declaration form.

  13. Aloha kakou,

The I-94 - is that given to Joan during the flight or at the POE (either Guam or Honolulu)?

    Mahalo,

    Bill and Joan

Joan will be given her forms she needs to fill out on the plane. She needs to have it filled out when she presents her paperwork to immigration at the POE.

  14. I mailed in my I-129f packet on July 28. I have proof from the UPS that someone had signed it off. I was wondering why I still have not receive my NOA1 and why they haven't cash the check. It's been 2 weeks. You would think they would cash the check by now. I emailed CSC.Nonotice@dhs.gov

and they said maybe my packet got lost in the mail and that to cancel my check and to send in another packet. Why would they say that? I asked them to check if my name is in their system. All they said is maybe it got lost in the mail. Do you think that person that responded to my email even checked their system to see if my name is in the system? Maybe they were just to lazy to check that's why they said it got lost in the mail. What do you guys think? I know I should be patient.. But I'm just worried because they haven't cash my check. Anyway have this problems. Please share. Thank you

Just be patient, they are probably overloaded with petitions. Many people filed to beat the increase. Good Luck to you on the rest of your journey!

  15. I just mailed it today.hope everything will be ok. im second guessing my self if i did everything correct. i was looking at the copies that i sent in.i notice that i made some mistakes like little things, for instance the date. i just wrote 09/22/83 instead of writing the full year.1983.or i didnt make photo copies of everything i sent because i printed extra copies of the forms and save it in the computer. i might sound stupid or paranoid. but i just want everything to be perfect or the best that i can so that there is no delay or mistakes in the process....

It is natural to second guess yourself, but be rest assured you are stressing over nothing. just get ready to play the waiting game. It will be frustrating, but just keep yourself busy! Good Luck to you on your journey!
