  1. if you are concerned by how fast their answer is, it happened to me as well. i was really surprised to see be scheduled for an interview in december after having biometrics in the early october. it means all ur paperwork is well done and no need for additional evidence.

Me too, I had my biomettrics in nov 30th and my interview was scheduled for january as well.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi. our creme de leite is Whipping cream here in US.. :D

    Gracie

    Wrong.

Whipping cream is our "chantilly" (obs: "chantilly" is made of heavy cream = creme de leite fresco)

    Carol ;)

Actually, Gracie isn't exactly wrong. (This is her husband to the rescue!)

    Whipped cream is chantilly.

Whipping cream is heavy cream, that is, it hasn't been whipped yet.

Perhaps there's a regional difference and NE Brazil calls heavy cream "creme de leite?" without the fresco part?

  3. ninamyers,

Of course, you're the one who went it there if you followed the directions correctly. The Chicago Lockbox is the receiveing station for cases submitted to the NBC (formerly MSC).

    Yodrak

Mine was sent to MSC as well, ....

    G,

Strange that you don't know - you (or your agent) are the one who sent it there.

Hi, my case is in MSC , is it still possible for them to transfer me to CSC??

    Thanks,

    G

If you are a K-1 petitioner then how did your case get to MSC?

    I have no idea !

  6. Greetings VJers,

Does the birth certificate I need to send for the AOS (form I-485) need to be a particular "version" of this document, for example a copy of the folio? My wife has a certified copy of her birth certificate, but it is the "short" version, only basic info without her parent's names.

I want to make sure I have the right one translated.

If I need to have the longer version (folio), we can have it sent from Colombia, but that will take about a week and I'm ready to send off the AOS application asap.

As far as delays are concerned (possible RFEs, etc.), would it make more sense to go ahead and send the copy we have (which is, as far as I can tell, an certified copy of her birth certificate), or take the extra time to have the copy of the folio sent?

I apologize in advance if this is question that's been answered a lot on VJ, but I tried doing searches here and looked carefully at the instructions for form I-485 and also on the USCIS website, and all it says is "copy of birth certificate" without any further details.

    Thanks a lot Guys,

    Roland[/font]

Hi, I think is better for you to send the full version of the birth certificate, translated if necessary..

    :o)

    Gracie

  7. About translating documents you can have a friend or your fiance do it they just have to sign the translation at the bottom with a statement like:

I certify that I am competent to translate from [Language] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

    Signed:_______________

    Address:______________

    Telephone:____________
