    my letter said the same, I think they misplaced the document and my letter didn't actually say to take it to the interview, but I'm all set now for my interview and bringing the documents with me, my case says now "Ready " for interview. They should really work on their format it's confusing.

    Nice! I am glad they didn't ask to sent it back to NVC. That 11 weeks wait time is ridiculous. Good luck with your interview!

    Hello guys

    We get approved almost one mounth ago and we still didn't hear anything saying to us what to do we are really worried

    Is that normal ?

    When you say approved, I assume you are talking about approved petition from uscis. It usually takes 3 weeks for you to get welcome letter from nvc.  You should call nvc to find out if they have gotten your approved Petition USCIS. If they haven't, then call daily to find out what's going on.

    It may be that the scanned copy was not readable or the e-file was corrupted.... or they lost it!!!  Make sure your original meets all the criteria.. when you get your email instructions from Sydney , they will list all the documents they have on hand and what you have to bring.... original, copy etc... so that will be another opportuntiy to ensure you have everything in hand.  It is required to bring the original of ll scanned documents already submitted, so the original AFP certificate would be on that list.. you did get the AFP check and not just your state check?

    Yes. I did get the AFP National Police Certificate. My wife has the original with her and we were planning on taking it to the interview.

    My PCC looks similar to this

    ASSESSMENT LETTER
    Regarding Evidence of Income for Financial Sponsor or Household Member:
    ____________NAME___________________
    =====================================================================
    ========
    These instructions refer only to the financial sponsor or household member named above. The
    National Visa Center (NVC) reviewed the Affidavit of Support form and evidence that you
    submitted. You are missing one or more documents that are required to demonstrate your
    income level. Please review the instructions below and collect the missing documents.
    Do NOT send these documents to NVC. We will schedule your visa interview without
    having reviewed these documents. Instead, give all requested documents to the visa
    applicant, who should give them to the consular officer during the visa interview. Failure
    to submit the requested documents at the time of the visa interview can delay this case.
    Additional information on evidence of income can be found online at nvc.state.gov/aos
    (English) or nvc.state.gov/aos/espanol (Spanish). You do not need to contact NVC at this time.
    After we schedule the immigrant interview, we will send the applicant an appointment letter.
    =====================================================================
    ========
    Please gather the below requested financial evidence:
    [x] A copy of every W-2 form that relates to your __________2016_______________ tax returns.

    Mine specifically says to bring it to the interview. If yours is unclear, i suggest you call to make sure.

    Yeah.. I see what you are saying. I will definitely call and confirm. it would've been cleared only if today NCV were open today. Since I already submitted the Australian PCC, I think they just want it to be present at the time of the interview. At least that's what I am hoping for. lol.. will find out when I call.

    Yes we had one telling us that our IR 5 applications were completed at NVC and being forwarded to the Sydney Consulate but that we should get a joint sponsor and bring the I864 paperwork to the interview.

    What you are seeing is a generic letter which is used to cover a multitude of situations so read carefully and note exactly what the instructions to YOU are saying and ignore those that do not apply to you. Good luck !

    Thanks! I will confirm by calling them on Monday. Since I already submitted a copy of Australian police clearance, I am hoping that they just want me to bring that to the interview.

    I do think it means you need to bring it to the interview. It says, "Applicants who are required to provide an Australian police certificate should present it at the time of interview or request that it be sent directly to the Consulate where they will apply."

    That's what I am getting from it as well. It's just that they are not so clear since on the first page they said the instructions will ask you to do either option 1 and 2. But the instruction doesn't specifically mention anything. lol

    Thanks for your input!

    Yes, SAJourney is right. They need you to either bring your Australian police certificate to the interview or have it sent by the issuing authority directly to the consulate where you'll have your interview. I believe you have a case complete and nothing to worry about other than getting the PCC available before your interview.

    ok, thanks. I wish they would be more specific about these kind of things. in the instruction page they literally copy and paste things from their website (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AS.html) rather that telling me what steps I should be taking.

    I appreciate your input.

    NVC is asking for the beneficiary to bring a current and original copy of the his/her police certificate to the interview.  You may have sent it with the IV package but the beneficiary should bring originals of all the IV documents to the interview.

    You can double confirm by calling NVC and make sure that you have a case complete.  If you do then you just have to wait for the interview to be scheduled.

    thanks for reply. I will confirm by calling on Monday. (since they are closed today for holiday). I did confirm twice yesterday and they did confirm case closed. This email just threw me off guard.

    You need to go through the checklist carefully to determine if this was a false checklist or otherwise. Sometimes your case is complete and you're required to bring items to the interview. Please read through the checklist and determine which it is. Good luck.

    So I went through the letter few times. What I am not sure is that they are saying that

    The instructions will ask you to either:

    •   Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview;

      or

    •   Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

      Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet. Clearly write your case number BMB1234567890 on the upper right-hand corner of every document you send. After we receive and review the requested information, we will let you know the status of your case. For current processing times, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish).

      If you have any questions about this letter, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/ask (English) or nvc.state.gov/ask/espanol (Spanish).

      If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and documents to continue the immigration process.

    But in the instruction, I don't see anywhere saying which option they want me to do.

    I posted the complete letter in the link to the main thread. Can you see if you can make out what they are really saying please? I already submitted the PCC with my packet.

    Thank you

  10. Hi all,

    Yesterday my status changed to "AT NVC" and AOS disappeared from the CEAC website. I called NVC to confirm about case complete. They confirmed that my case is complete the review and will be forwarded to consulate in India and I will be getting an email once the interview has been scheduled.

    However, today I woke up and saw an email from NVC with Checklist cover letter saying this:

    Police certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

    ######################################################################################

    I am confused about exactly what they are asking me. I already sent them Australian Police Clearance for my with along with Indian Police Clearance certificate with my IV packet. I am confused since they already verbally confirmed case complete, are they asking my wife to bring the Australian Police Clearance to the interview?

    Has anyone ever gotten similar email? or does anyone know what this really means. I am really hoping that they just want my wife to bring the PCC to the interview (she was already gonna do that anyway).

    I tried calling NVC today, but they are closed for a Federal Holiday (Veterans Day). I will try to contact them on Monday now, but in the mean time just thought to ask fellow applicants.

    Thank you in advance!
