    Its been 9 weeks...

    cc 12/22/17

    for Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

    and still no appointment.

I am so tired of waiting! Anyone with a cc around my time?

Case complete 01/09/18 (also processing in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico)

I think once they start scheduling for April, in the next couple of days, it'll be for those remaining with a CC in December 2017 as well as those with CC in January 2018 (I hope!)

Yesss that is why I questioned it. Since he already had biometrics done, I didn't see the need for it. We were going to start with the request for the clearance in Mexico but stopped when we heard that the letter for the clear from our local police station was going to take 6-8 weeks to arrive. I'm just disappointed because we could have gotten this done a long time ago if would have known. I guess it's I'm fault because we should have researched a bit more. Thank goodness I found this  page. thank you all for answering back to me.

We didn't submit a police clearance letter from the U.S. We just submitted a police clearance letter from my husband's home state in Mexico. Thankfully, his mother was able to get the letter without a power of attorney (maybe she was just lucky) and we submitted that to the NVC.  Our case was completed on January 9, 2018. Just waiting for an interview now.

We are planning on getting a new police clearance letter while in Ciudad Juarez for our interview just in case the one we submitted to the NVC is expired/not the correct one.

They havent sent anything 😦 they told me they are waiting for NVC to ask for the ds 260 and the i864. They just sent notice to NVC that we got the waiver approved and that we have to wait 11 weeks for them to ask for the ds260

Our lawyer gave us the option to submit the DS-260 and civil documents around the same as the waiver OR wait until the waiver was approved. We chose to have them done around the same time as the waiver because that would probably mean that we would have an interview faster, and in our case it worked out perfectly.

Our waiver was received on September 29, 2017 and about a month later (middle of October) we submitted our DS-260 and civil documents.

Our waiver was approved on January 3, 2018 and on January 9, 2018 our case was deemed completed by the NVC. We are now waiting for our interview in CDJ.

I have a question after your I-601A is approved do you receive a employment authorization card? thank you.

I don't think so.  After the I-601a is approved you have to attend an immigrant visa interview in your home country. If you are approved at the interview you will receive an immigrant visa and shortly after you re-enter the U.S. you will receive a social security number and green card.

I believe you get an employment authorization document only if you are adjusting your status inside the U.S. (meaning you entered the U.S. legally or are covered by 245i)

  5. According to the NVC reciprocity page for Mexico:

"Available. Military identity cards (cartilla militar) may be accepted in lieu of a record from the Ministry of Defense. However, in the case of individuals who have served, or are serving in a career status, military records may be obtained from the Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional (Ministry of National Defense) in Mexico City."
