Hi everyone!
I have a question! Im currently in the process of getting all the paper work I need for my AOS, I got married last September and I already have 90% of my paper work ready. I just need to ask about this matter. My husband was staying in the Philippines for 7 years prior to him moving here to the US to work again. he only has taxes from 2017 since he only started to work November 2016 and the requirements to show proof of financial support needs at least 3-4 years of his taxes to be shown. My sister in law told me that my parents in law or her and her husband can help to sponsor us and that we can show/submit their taxes instead of my husbands.she also told me to hire a lawyer because she is worried that the USCIS might reject my application due to the texes only being a year old Because her friend is now in that current stuation. what do you guys think. I'm pretty certain the sponsor taxes will be enough for them. do I really need to hire a lawyer? im only asking because I know some of you got through it without asking help from one. please let me know.
thanks in advance

Hi, i am a J1 visa holder im currently in the US doing my internship. last June my boyfriend asked me to marry him. we never planned to get married and it was a complete surprise for me, he is a US citizen. we got married last September. i was waiting for my marriage certificate for a few weeks, and now I have my marriage certificate already and im starting to put all the paper work that i need to file my AOS, my question is how do i do it?
1.should my husband file for my petition I-130 first before i send all the paper work for my AOS like my I-485 and my Alien employment authorization?
2.or should i just submit it all together in one packet?
3.and how do i get the forms? can i just print them out thru the USCIS website? or does it come thru the mail?
please help me i am a bit confused from all the forums i have read.
i don't have a two year residency rule so i don't need a waiver.
please help me i need answers i think a lot of people here are very knowledgeable!
thank you in advance!

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to ask your opinions about changing my name.
I was a J1 visa holder and I got married. last September 1 2017 .
My visa expired February 5 2018.
I sent my papers in May 16 2018 .
Got my form i-797C for all (I-485,I-130 and I-765) .
I also got my biometrics appointment date for this Wednesday June 20,2018 .
it says on the paper my PD is May 21,2018
my question is how do I change my name? what documents do I need? how early can I start changing my name by going to the Social security office? should I wait for my work permit? or can I already ask to have my name changed with just my marriage certificate as my evidence of legal name change?
also after that Can I change my name in my passport already? (Philippine Passport) since I will be using my married name now I would like to match all my future Id’s to my passport name.
Please let me know what you guys think? thank you all in advance!
