It depends on the embassy - as it’s the embassy that schedule. However i think NVC are behind with even contacting the embassy. I was case complete 30th April and i’ve only just got an interview last week and that was because i applied for expedite 

Hello -  have a q. my expedite for interview was approved today YAY!! and i booked my medical for 16tj July - i’m wondering what the implications are of having my interview before my medical? Has anyone done this?

I know you need a valid police certificate to travel, so yes i’d apply for another so you have it for your interview. They will seal all the documents and provide you with a folder you present on arrival at the US and this will need to have a valid police cert included.

for uk police cert should be less then 6 months old

NVC schedules your appointment, so the status will stay at NVC until your case has been scheduled an appointment. I wouldn’t worry about your PD date - your PD is current. Also; you need to take the originals and copies of all documents you uploaded to NVC along with evidence of relationship etc. They like to see all the original docs - but this varies from embassy to embassy so you should be able to find out online what your embassy wants. Congrats!

You don’t need any cover sheets. Ceac processing is completely different to the mailing. They just want the documents. Make sure they are the right way up! you don’t really get checklists with CEAC. They didn’t like the quality of my birth certificate and i got a message that day on the online portal. I uploaded a new one nd that day it was accepted. I was case complete in one day only. waiting for inteview now.

For the cover sheet for the AOS package I scanned it on top of the I864EZ and scanned it. But for the IV there is no such option. Should I proceed to submit everything without the IV document cover sheet?

I scanned the whole document in, page by page, which created 8-9 images on my ipad, i then combined them all into a pdf file and uploaded that one pdf file

 I advised before i used a programme that took multiple images and created them into a PDF. You can search Photo to PDF on the app store and there’s plenty to choose from.

I scanned the document in, and then used an app on my ipad which changes images to pdf. and then uploaded to Ceac but i believe you can use PDF or JPEG

Since then havent heard back from NVC. Anyone in a similar timeline?

We got petition approved february 14, reached NVC in April and we got case complete after ONE DAY! We submitted online at CEAC. We are case complete 30/04/2018 and waiting for an interview date in london embassy.

When you say electronic do you mean email it or submit it electronically on their website?

 

It’s confirmation you submitted the DS260, so it’s the confirmation page you get when you complete it. I don’t know why they want it, but they do. It has a barcode on they use to find your application. When i say electronic i mean on there website.

Where is this barcoded cover sheet? I never received any. Is this outdated information or what? 

 

Follow up question: 

1. Once you have submitted the DS-260 forms for you and your accompanying family members, you must then submit your required civil documents, photographs and embassy-specific documents to the NVC.
   
   If your case is NOT processing electronically, please submit your documents to:

   National Visa Center Attn: CMR/DR 31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100 Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

   
   If your case IS processing electronically, please scan and email your documents to: NVCElectronic@state.gov

 

This is what the website states. So do I email the civil documents in or do I scan and upload? 

The barcoded sheet is the confirmation page of the DS260 you have to print. t had a unique barcode on it. 

Regarding sending documents mail or electronically, you can know this by the first three letters in your case ref. Mine was LND which means electronic. Google the first three letters and electronic or mail visa application? it’ll link you! it’s all on the website though

The police certificate needs to be less then 6 months old for the UK, i don’t know about other countries. I obtained mine in february. None of my documents were notarised but they have all been approved. 

In the Uk, when we get passport photos they provide 5 on one small sheet from the machine. I scanned all 5 photos.

You’re welcome! You NEED to upload scanned documents of 1. Birth Certificate 2. Police Certificate 3. Marriage Certificate 4. Photo page of passport 5. A sheet of passport style photographs. The AOS documents are the US persons passport or birth certificate, evidence of payroll or letter from employer, tax evidence from IRS which you can get online in a matter of minutes, and the affadavit of support  

I paid mine together also. Are you CEAC processing? (online?) I just submitted my online documents and they were case completed in TWO DAYS! Congrats it’s allowed you to pay the fees at the same time. If it’s CEAC you don’t need to complete a DS-261 and the 260 is called IV APPLICATION in plainer terms if you see that! 

Had to wait 2 weeks for my passport to arrive as i had it changed into my married name - but Sunday we completed everything online CEAC. Just waiting for Case Complete and London Embassy Interview Scheduling. I really hope i’m not still looking at 3 months before i travel...

This link is good but doesn’t apply to CEAC embassy’s. For people who can complete the whole application online - is there a help guide? 

Me and My husband got our approval email today and i logged into ceac  Approval feb 14th! We haven’t been given the option to choose an agent - even though we don’t have a lawyer. Both fees are available. Should i call? or pay the fees and continue  SO EXCITED THAT WE ARE NEARLY THERE NOW!!!

Our case was sent to the state department 34 days ago now. I called today from the UK (i hope it doesn’t cost me a fortune...) and the lady advised me to keep calling once a week. She wouldn’t let me provide an email address as of yet. Does this sound correct? she said the wait time is currently 8 weeks which pardon my french is absolutely shite 

I GOT APPROVED TODAY!! PD Nebraska 20th June, Approval 15th Feb! Happy Valentines!! I will update timeline and continue to do so!
