That is where the next issue comes in. We did not know about the need to file for change of address for my father in law since they moved (about a year ago). The requirement stated that the change of address must be filed within 30 days. What should we do?? Do you know of the consequences?
I am so freaked out right now.....

Hi everyone,
I filed my AR-11 for Non US Citizen online, and I saw somewhere that the sponsors (US Citizen) needs to file their change of address too. In my case, we had 2 sponsors (my husband and my father in law). Is that true that they both need to file change of address even though I have already received my PR?
When I called the 1-800 customer service number, the agent told me that the US citizen does not need to file I-865 because I am already at the removal of my conditional permanent resident status. I am worried because per the language in the I-865 form, it indicated that unless I become a US citizen, all sponsors who are US Citizen must file for a change of address.
The paragraph on form I-865 stated:
WHEN SHOULD I USE FORM I-865?
If at any time in the past you completed a form I-864, Affidavit of Support, to sponsor an immigrant, you are required to report the change of address within 30 days of the change, if the sponsorship agreement is stil in force.
The sponsorship agreement remains in force until the sponsored immigrant:
1. Becomes a US Citizen;
2. Can be credited with 40 quarters of work;
3. Departs the United States permanently and either permanently abandon lawful permanent resident status (by filing form I-407) or is formally held in a removal proceeding to have abandoned that status;
4. In removal proceeding, loses the lawful permanent resident status that the sponsored immigrant obtains based on your form I-864;
5. Dies.
What do you think? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks so much! I will cross my fingers that it is in the box. Otherwise, I will follow your instruction to get an InfoPass Appointment.
Wish me luck...

It is your A# that goes on the AR-11 not the receipt #.... you can get your A# off your Greencard or original AOS papers...
Hope you find it on Friday...

Thanks Niagaenola! However, if I cannot find the letter stating my extension, what should I do? Don't I need that for AOS interview, etc?
Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,
I have recently moved from Oregon to North Carolina and have since been unable to locate my latest document from USCIS stating that my status has been extended. I have completed my biometrics a few months ago. I found out that my document is missing when I tried to fill out AR11 for change of address.
My question is:
1. Will USCIS give me my receipt number over the phone?
2. Will they re-send another document stating that my status has been extended?
3. Any other alternative for getting my receipt number for AOS?
The document may be in the boxes I had shipped to the new address. The boxes should arrive this Friday. I am going to tear it down to find what I need, but in the mean time I need to file my change of address and without the receipt number, I do not have one.
Thanks for any input y'all can provide.

We had 3 weddings!!! My husband's running joke is that he has been married 3 times to the same woman
First we had a court house wedding to get the paperwork going. Six months later we had a summer wedding in town with mostly his family from all over the States and our mutual friends. It was a lovely day and we had a small wedding (60 guests max). I was glad that we were able to keep the costs down, and yet enjoy the company of people we are closest with.
Our third and last wedding was at my hometown in Indonesia where we had 500 guests!! The whole ordeal was very formal. It was also such a tiring event, but full of meaning for both my husband, his family and my family. He was finally able to see where I grew up, met all my family and friends and enjoy the tasty food.....All I can say is that I am glad the weddings are all over!!!

in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

Thank you....
I will have him file it immediately. I feel bad because he probably did not know he needs to file this change of address. I cross my fingers that there won't be any repercussion.......
