  1. My fiance and I are completely ready for our interview in 10 days- we thought! I got an email from the consulate yesterday noting everything we need to bring including a COMPUTERIZED version of his birth certificate!? Everything we have read has said he needs the original.... which in south africa in the 80s is hand written. We have heard it is possible to get a second copy that is computerized but that it takes 8-12 weeks. Does anyone have any information on this? we are in a full on panic over here!

  2. HI All,

Hoping someone may have an answer for us. I have a letter from my office confirming my salary, which is higher than needed to support my fiance (by uscis official terms). But I also gave him 2 years of my tax filings to bring to the interview as well. I unfortunately forgot to sign my taxes, does anyone know if this invalidates their legality? Do I have a problem here? It took 6 weeks for my package to arrive to my fiance (it was held up in customs for a month) and I am worried I can get "fresh ink" signature copies of my taxes to him in time for his interview on the 22nd.

  3. Hi all!

What paperwork if any is able to be prepped ahead of receiving your noa2?

I am so worried about how much time it may take to get everything ready once it arrives and want to be sure my fiancée and I get jump on anything with a long lead time.

Some things I know I can organize now are...

    - updated proof of ongoing relationship (new pictures, call logs and photocopies of snail mail)

    - my tax papers for this coming year for proof of sponsorship ( planning to file my taxes ASAP!)

    - updated signed letter of intent to marry

    - filling out I134

Should I be waiting to get proof of employment letters until closer to that date?

what about my fiancées security affidavits from prior countries of residence? We’re afraid to ask for those too soon in case they expire (he needs one from the uk (England), South Africa and Switzerland )

any advice would help! We’re eager to be prepared and keep this moving as fast as possible
