  2. Hello guys I really need some help I have an important question and I would like some feedback do you think if I were to apply for disability benefits or receive/get approved for disability benefits could that affect my husband’s visa case??! We were thinking if we go to the interview and it comes up that I’m disabled it could hurt his case opinions please or should that even come up I know we could always tell them I work part time because I believe you are allowed to work part time on disability and also would they even know with the interview about my disability benefits please help I have no clue and I do not want to put his visa in jeopardy thanks a lot

Since your embassy is Islamabad, you're a pivot case which means you will submit the entire application online.

Sadly, it has been taking anywhere from 8-10 weeks for NVC to assign case numbers to pivot cases.

My case was received on Feb 1st and I just received my case number via email today - 10 weeks + 1 day after the receive date.

Having said that, it does not hurt at all to call. I have been calling pretty much every day for the past 3 weeks.

What do you mean I will do everything online? I still have to mail affidavit of support and application to them right?

NVC is very backed up right now, if your case is a pivot case it may take longer to get the case #, generally you can call NVC and check and see if the case # is ready.

It took 3.5 weeks to get my case number once NVC received the papers.

here is an example of the NVC check list. once you have a case you can go in and chose an agent, once you get the welcome letter you can go pay the AOS fee, after you chose the agent the next day you can call NVC and have them review the agent choice, about 3-4 days after that depending on if a weekend or a weekday, you can go and pay the IV bill. Once that has processed you will be able to fill out the IV application and then submit the documents. Making sure that you print off the welcome letter, and the cover sheet for the AOS papers.

DO NOT go get the medical exam until you have gotten the paper from NVC, I only say that as many have asked that question that is something that can't be done yet.

  6. I just checked the status of my husbands case. It said that our case was sent to the department of state 14 days ago my question is after they have received your case how many days does it take for them to send you a letter? And my next question is what paperwork do they require you to Send in?  I know you choose an agent and pay your fees and submit your application but what paperwork will they need from us?? Thank U guys so much in advance we are doing this process by her self without an attorney in this website has helped me so much!!

  7. Good morning everyone I went to check my husband's case status last night and to my surprise I found we were approved! After 8 months we are finally finished with the Nebraska part I can't even begin to explain how happy I am but I know this is just the beginning of a long road we made mistakes in our petition but we were still approved. Our translation of our marriage certificate did not have the translator statement or signature and we did not send in our marriage certificate in Urdu. I can't believe we are approved but I am happy I'm thinking we should get these documents ready for National visa center that we missed on the petition Nebraska is saving us Time by approving us and not giving us a request for evidence so I'm thankful for that but I'm nervous about the next steps any advice on the next step or feedback as to why we got approved so easily would be helpful thanks everyone and stay positive approvals are coming

  8. Hello I just wanted to ask and see everyone's feedback about it because I'm worried to death but we are waiting to hear back about or petition and we did not send in our Nikha in both languages so I know that will be one thing we did wrong and our translation we had done does not have the translators signature and also my husband's passport photos are not the correct size I believe if we do have all these things wrong what are the odds of us just getting the request for evidence or because we have too many things wrong is it possible for them just to deny us please help it would be much appreciated thanks 😊

Did your change your name on your passport after marriage ? Because if you did then its obvious that you will have your husband's surname on your new passport and you will have to submit a photocopy of your passport, visa & I-94 at the SSN office

No I did not change my name on my passport how do I do that?
