  1. Hi All. I have what I hope is an easy question. My husband and I are in the process of Green Card, we go for out interview in a few weeks. Is airline travel possible before the EAD or AOS goes through? It would be Cali to Ohio and back again. Always better to check here than USCIS first.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi all. Quick question for anyone that may have an answer. My husband and I are in the process of the AOS and are waiting the green card to arrive. I am wondering if anyone knows if he can attend school without the green card. We also applied for the EAD but have not received that either. If anyone can help us, that would be greatly appreciated. I was lost in the USCIS phone system forever today and still came out with no answer.

    Thank you-

  3. Hi All. I feel like I havent been here in ages. Hassan and I have been trying to rent Borat this whole weekend. No luck. I am teaching him to drive now, so I had him driving all over out city to different video stores. It was fun even if we didnt get the movie. We will try again tonight. Who else wants to rent a movie on a Monday??

The weather here is So Cal is awesome right now. Hot Hot Hot. Perfect. Even though it is a monday and there are 5 whole days until the weekend, I am loving life. We get to start the next steps now, AOS EAD, we are getting lazy and just trying to enjoy life together and the paperwork keeps falling down on our list. Bad Us.

Hope everyone is in good health.

  4. I enjoy this forum and I am sorry that things are not the way they used to be. This forum is like family and it has helped me out so much. I only hope that I will be able to help at least one person out that comes here to look for an answer to "Pay It Forward."

All families have good times and bad ones, that is why it is called unconditional love.

  5. Goood Morninggg- ummm, afternoon to everyone. I feel like such a stranger. Since Hassan has been here, I have avoided the computer at all costs. I never knew life could be so wonderful and complete. Sorry sorry. I hope everyone is doing well and I only wish that everyone could experience a happiness like the one I am living now. Patience and persistence.

I hope everyone is happy and healthy.

  6. What an impressive team we have here. I certainly do not have a high profile job like some of you, but I have the best job in the world. I work for a group of hematolgy/oncology physicians. I am responsible for off site testing and authorizations. Basically, I schedule procedures for our patients that we do not do in the office. As we administer chemotherapy, I get to know all of the patients so very well. Some are with us every single day of the week. We become family. We laugh with them, cry with them, watch them go from sick to well, and some we can only offer hopes of comfort as they leave this world. I have been in the oncology field for 5 years. I love it. If I could stand the site of blood, I swear I would be an oncology nurse. But, as the site of blood and the thought of sticking a person with a needle makes me pass out, I would suck at nursing. So, I am happiest at my job. I get all of the benefits, with none of the blood.

  7. Oh My God. I can't believe it. Hassan just called me from in front of the embassy and he has the visa in hand. I cant believe it. I cant stop the tears and I think my heart is about to jump out of my chest. This is too good to be true. Can someone pinch me to make sure I am not dreaming??????

Thanks to everyone here with words of encouragement, advice, and prayers.

  8. Lillie-

My fiance received this form in French in his packet also. He never mentioned an expiration date. What I would have your fiance do is to fill it out just in case. I know mine did. Questions like this, you are best to go to the Middle East/North Africa forum. Everyone there has a ton of knowledge, there are so many of us there who went through Casa. My fiance just had his interview this past tuesday. Good luck, see you in ME/NA. You may not get many replies to this here, so re-post it there. Just a hint. :star:

Tonight my fiancee and I were going through his packet for his interview (now scheduled on the 22nd of February). He scanned the entire package and emailed it to me. We noticed that there is a DS-157 in it, in French. It has an expiration date in the top right hand corner of 06/30/2002. His instruction sheet is just like everyone else has posted here; it asks for the DS-156, 156-k, part 1 of the DS-230. Has anyone ever gotten a form in the package by mistake? Should I call or email them about this, or just write it off as human error? Thanks again in advance for any and all help!
  9. Ok Ok guys and gals. So the interview was yesterday. It seems we did not have as good luck as last weeks crew. The interviewer was as American woman, and Hassan said she was really so nice. At the end, Hassan asked her how it went really, and she smiled and said "Your interview was good with me." BUT, then he got the dreaded, "we just have some more investigating to do in Washington- be ready we could call you at any time the end of this week or next." He was given his passport back with no stamp in the back. Another person we know that was approved, he received a stamp on the back before he got it back. Can anyone read between the lines here??? Should we be afraid we are going to get lost in the investigative circle and be stuck here for months more????

  10. Good morning all. Looks like we have some pretty cold weather all around the states. Here in Southern Cali, we actually had snow in the most unusual places and since noone here knows how to drive in it, they closed some of our freeways for like a half inch of snow. The funniest part is, we dont have any salt trucks so we have to wait for it to melt. Hmmm. Come on sunnnn.

    TGI Almost Friday.

  11. I was wondering if anyone has talked to their SO about moving back to their home country in the future. My husband and I have talked about this quite a lot. Now that we went through the whole process of gaining his permanent residence, I am starting to wonder why we went though it when we might be going to live in Morocco. I know that it's good since we can now start saving money and he can get job expeirence. I would just hate to start a family and then when we decide to go to Morocco we have to pick up everything and start all over.

So my questions: Have you and your SO talked about moving to their home country? If so, what was the decision? When would you move? If you chose not to move, what is/are the reason(s)?

Honestly, I would love to move to Morocco. I had the best time of my life there. So much is different than here, true. I dont speak a bit of the language and I am probably the worlds pickiest eater, but that aside, I would love it. We have talked about in the future, WAYYY future, if we are stable enough, it would be perfect to have residence in both countries. If we were ever to have children, he would rather they be brought up there with strong Islamic and family values. As for right now, I would just love to be together- anywhere!
