I can’t say it’s normal or not, but usually when your case is updated means they opened your file to look at it. Did they respond to your inquiry?

Yes, they did with the infamous generic response:

"that most cases are resolved within 60 days but can take significatnly longer in some instances ..... we regret that our response cannot be more detailed at this point, but we hope this information is helpful."

  2. Guys, I understood from forum reads that whenever you submit information or make an inquiry with the consulate/embassy your CEAC tracker gets updated. In my case this has not been happening:

    Interview: 11th August

    DS-5535 submission: 16th August

    Consulate inquiry-reply: 16th October

My last update was on the 11th of August on CEAC, is it normal for submission/ inquiries not to trigger an update?

I have good news to share with you guys,

My wife's interview was on 27th of July and she was handed the DS-5535 form at the end of interview.

Today they called her to bring her passport in to stamp the visa :)

Good luck to all of you

Conratulations, definitely a relief after such a long wait!

How did your updates on CEAC go? I am 56 days in, with no single update, is that normal?

Congratulations on your visa! I am also under AP and filled out the DS-5535 and my Interview date was Aug. 11th. I have not got gotten any status update on CEAC since then, how about yourself how many updates did you get prior the issue?

  5. Hello, I had my interview on August 11 and was advised that further investigation is required (AP), so I was handed a Pink slip and my Passport was kept at the Consulate in Frankfurt. Later on the same day, I received the DS-5535 as an email which in return I submitted on August 16th in the body of the email. I then received a reply stating that it will be "forward for appropriate action".

It is now 51 days since my interview and I have not received a single update, since August 11. I studied in the US from 2008-2014 on an F1 and have been visiting the US for the past 3 years for multiple vacations through the visa waiver program.

For everyone, here I hope we all get good news soon as I know how depressing it can be!
