  1. The only adverse affect will be that they will have to re-request the passport again when they are ready to issue the visa, which will slow things down a little. What country are you dealing with?

You should be able to request a status update and tell them that you need the passport back for travel. . .depending on where he's traveling is could have a small impact.

    It is in Dhaka Consulate

  2. Just wait a few days. They kept the passport is a good thing. My mother applied for a visa and got a 10 yr one but they gave my dad a 221(g) for further processing and asked for his resume because he is a retired colonel and a mechanical engineer. Took them 2 weeks of processing and he got the visa too.

Did they ask for any document from your mother?

No emabssy did not ask for any docs either from mother or father.

DanielParul- thanks for your quick response. Is your parents case from Dhaka consulate? Thanks.

  3. My wife had interview for i-130 on 27th July. Visa officer said visa is approved, but needed IRS filing for co-sponsor. We send the docs on last Monday (Aug 3rd).

    - Does anybody has any idea, what's the regular time to get the passport back in this situation?

    - Does it help calling them? If so, what's the effective tel#

We are in stress, please help us.

  4. yes he can be your co sponsor, and he will have to give his own i186 and you will still have to give your too. if he lives in teh same house then he will be household member but you you live seperate then its not houshold member ...hope that helps....

    Alright.

    My co-sponsor filling-up I-864.

    On part-3 question-8:

Yes- No- (Applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)

    Does he click on "NO"?

    Thanks for your help.

  5. Yes any citizen or permanent resident can and he must include a photocopy of his green card. Keep in mind he must make enough to cover his entire household (anyone included on his tax return- children, spouse, etc.) plus the immigrant.

He cannot fill out the I-864A, the contract between the sponsor and a household member, as he is not your spouse, parent, child or sibling. He'll have to fill out his own I-864.

Can anyone please send me the address for interview and also anything we should know that we missed from the letter.

    Thanks,
