  1. Hi,

    My wife (k-1 fiancee visa recipient, now married) recv'd an I-797C, NOA saying her (and her 5 yr old child) I-485 was rejected for the following reason:

    "The check amount is incorrect or has not been provided. The correct filing fee is $930.00. Each applicant between the ages of 14 and 79 must also include an additional $80.00 fingerprint fee. Please resubmit the aplication with the appropriate fees to the address listed on the bottom of this notice"

    I believe I sent the correct amount... a personal check in the amount of $1,610.00.

    $930(filing fee) + $80(fingerprint fee) + $600(for the child) = $1,600

    Does anyone have an idea of what I may have done wrong?

    Fernando

    Happened to us too and caused over a month of delay in the process what we did was made separate checks for $930, $80, and $600 (if that's the fee they indicated, i don't know about child) total of 3 checks and not the sum in all one check.

  2. hi guys,

    does anyone here know among the married couples (foreign and USC) and now living in the US, can my husband claim me as his tax dependent, he cant remember but the last time he checked the instruction on dependents that I, being a foreign spouse, holding a Conditional Resident Status (pls see my timeline below for ref) and not an American Citizen can't be his dependent, how true is this. Can somebody shed some light or give any links on the instructions on the IRS site regarding this. We can't seem to find the part about foreign spouse dependents thus causing confusion here. Should we file joint tax declaration or i should file mine separately since I've been working since i got my EAD.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.

  3. UPDATE! UPDATE!

    I finally received my EAD Card on the mail yesterday!

    Horayyyyy! :dance::dance::dance:

    Congratulations! Happy job hunting hope you get a job that you'd like a lot just like I did. I'm always excited going to work everyday even though it's been quite a while now since i started. Good luck!

  4. Question Re:AOS

    where do you attach your 2X2 passport type photos? Form I-485 or G- 325A? and how many? :help:

    salamat po! (F)

    as far as i could remember you attach your photos on neither of them. you can just leave it in that small plastic where they put it at the photo lab, thats how i did mine. and don't forget to write your A# and print your full name at the back as well,

    and also don't forget that the photos shouldn't be edited.

    hope that helps.

    you asked how many you need 2 identical photos 2"X 2" passport size for I-485 application, and if you're applying for EAD as well then you need another 2. you may want to refer on this link about I-485 Instructions (#4)

  6. Hi all! I'm getting ready for my trip to the PI! I'm so excited :D

    I'm still kind of nervous because 1) this will be my first time traveling on a greencard - although word is that it's no pain, I'm still my paranoid little self; 2) this will be my first time flying, with connecting flights! Do I have to pick up my luggage at the Chicago Airport? Do I have to run? Do I need to pay for anything? Gosh... So many questions, so few answers from those I've asked! 3) My luggage is heavy. VERY heavy. American Airlines is kuripot when it comes to baggage allowances, apparently. Just 50lbs a bag, when in Korean Air, I got 70lbs a bag. So afraid I'll go over the limit (all pasalubong - chocolates and stuff. I'm not even bringing clothes with me!).. In case I do, can I give my chocolates away at the airport so I don't have to pay? :P

    Still! So excited! I'll miss my hubby, but the winter-ish conditions are killing me, and he understands. My mom so loves him for letting me go visit on christmas

    iya, although i don't have any answers to offer in any questions you have, i just wanna say inggit ako (i'm jealous) coz you would be able to see your family this Christmas. and it wasn't too long since you last seen each other. That is so cool! I wish I could visit Philippines soon too, right now, I'm not sure when yet. hu-hu-hu! i miss my folks.

    I hope you have a nice trip and everything would go smoothly and have a great spending holiday in the Philippines. I don't miss the hot and humid weather and the pollution in Manila though. But i miss the foods badly that I ache for them sometimes. :crying:

  7. Ok... Ok... Let's just mark me down as being an admirer of Asian booty... :wub: Oppsss, I really meant beauty... :blush: Please forgive my Freudian slip... :P

    Hi i think we are Aug filer too... our timeline is on my signature.

    I just wanna ask, im having biometrics appointment this friday, why I can't check my status online when i enter my Receipt number both AOS and EAD it says;

    Validation Error(s)

    You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

    * Case Status Retrieval Failed

    * This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

    i don't understand why it comes up like this. and what is wrong.

    thanks for any input

  12. hi fellow pinay filers!

    just wanna ask this boggling question in my mind.. during the interview with consular officer, are you going to give all your folders to him? or for example, he asks when was the last time you saw each other, are you going to give him the evidences of your meeting?

    or the documents that pre-interviewer got from you will forward them to the CO and the CO will browse them during your interview?

    hope to get a reply soon.

    CONGRATULATIONS to those who already got their visa and enjoying their journey...

    you're just going to answer whatever the question and hand what is asked, i remember this thing from PW that she said do not offer what is not asked, whether it's evidence or answer.

    if he asks you when was the last time you saw each other, the answer is not your folder, but date when you last saw each other, if he said, and they would ask: do you have pictures together? that's when you show pictures, you have receipt of the engagement ring? you're just going to give what is asked.

  13. :jest: Next time try using a damp clothe instead of the washing machine. Or is that what women do when they don't like the photo... Hehehe!!! :jest:

    it was an unlucky day i even left my right flip-flop left outside the car when i got in after a swimming in the lake, and so when we stopped at pricechopper i found out it was missing ang recalled i left it outside the car door, the lake is 1 1/2 hours away from where live :crying:
