  1. My baby............ The Baby departed this life in July 2007. Cancer was the cause.

We dated for about 5 years and had only been married since December 06.

I got my Conditional Green Card in 03/ 07.

I filed the I- 751 with the request that joint filing be waived. I had my biometrics done in October 07.

I decided to file this early that way I wouldn't have to relive this over & over again. I'm currently waiting for a decision from the USCIS.

I miss my baby & I hurt so bad. I thought I was starting to feel better until a few days ago. I was driving on the Florida Turnpike when a wave of emotions just hit me like a freight train. I have never experienced such emotional or physical pain for that matter. I don't know whether it had to do with our recent wedding anniversary and the upcoming holidays.

I just had this major melt down....it hurt & I never felt so lonely. My baby bravely endured 2 surgeries, several rounds of radiation & endless doses of chemo... just for it to end this way. Guys it hurts.

I remember the Baby with her short blond & spiky hair, those greenish/ blue eyes & ofcourse her trademark gorgeous, sometimes naughty smile.

  2. Our 10-year Greencard arrived 12/15/07 and all I can say is … thank God this is over!

I want to thank all those who seriously helped with our questions, overall, it wasn’t really all that bad, it’s just the waiting that is so frustrating.

Our application got moved from Texas to California, which to us moved very quickly. I tried to update my signature here, but it wouldn’t let me, so I just updated our timeline.

I wish everyone the best in your journey and relationships…see you all again in 9 years (start research early, unless he wants to apply for citizenship.)

Take care everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    JT

 congratulations.................when did you do your biometrics?

  3. Sprailenes, I am sorry about your present predicament.

Unfortnately, this 23yr old is too stupid to realize that his utterances may have a lasting impression on the little boy. That said, his threats are not to be taken lightly. Hopefully, you will be able to remove your son from this potentially harmful environment.

Child rearing styles are an extremely sensitive matter. Parents raise their kids the best way they know. I agree that we have to allow kids to be kids. However, we also have to be willing to make concessions, especially if those kids have to share space with others.....be it at home, daycare, school or the grocery store.

  4. It was not hard to come up with evidence of a bona fide, I just followed what the instructions said to do. I did send in a few things like joint bank account statements and letters from witness to our wedding. Your right, we have not live together yet only when on vacation to PI.

Guess what, I GOT APPROVED LAST NIGHT!! I guess my case worker was working on my petition last night but I got my approved notice via E-mail hehe. I thank VJ so much for all the HELP giving to me! Thankz Captain even if you never answer my Mail!. Gud luck to all are is waiting for an Approved notice too! Hey am going to Disney LAND!!!

    congrats!

How difficult was it to come with evidence of a bona fide relationship? Am I wrong to assume that you guys don't live together at this time?

I'm sorry to be such a pain......please give a list of the evidence you sent in

  6. lol...thanks for trying

I've actually found some stuff, I went through the Trinidad and Tobago - Canadian Embassy and found some more info there.

It doesn't look good though. What I'm seeing is that after deportation reentry is barred permanently without ministerial permission. I'm not sure how hard/expensive that will be, but I'll keep looking.

    sue

go to any canada consulate general website. Download info & forms on application for permission to return. I think it's $360. Probably best to do after you have your status in the u.s.

  7. I was just filling out my DS-156K and I seen where it says "The following documents must be attached in order to apply for a Fiance(e) nonimmigrant visa"

BUT the letter I received says to only send in the checklist. Do I send in the documents with Packet three or just the checklist??????

I'm thinking I'm going to be in trouble if they want my Birth Certificate now, I applied online, 15 day gaurantee, on November 7, 2006 and I'm still waiting. The Registrar General's offices seem to have every excuse in the world for why I haven't gotten it yet.:angry::angry:

Hopefully I won't have anymore questions :crying:

You send back the DS230 and the signed portion of the checklist.

You will take the rest of the paperwork to the Consulate. i.e BC copy & original, new USC fiance(e) letter of intent, police certificate(s), divorce decree, I-134, etc

I went thru Montreal.....everyone there was nice.

  8. I had my K-1 interview in Nov 06 in Montreal. My wife, then fiancee is 12 yrs older than me. I had taken lots of evidence, including pics to the interview....the CO didn't even ask to see any of it.

I had my AOS D.O.R.A interview in Jan 07. Again nobody asked to see any pix.

So, I don't necessarily think that u did anything wrong..hopefully true love will prevail

  9. Congrats on the crossing Leafgal! Does anyone know if Niagra is better/worse than Peace Bridge in Buffalo? Niagra would save us a couple of miles/time and we might be able to see the Falls on the way back.

I went through the Buffalo Peace Bridge on Nov 23 at 1800. The whole process lasted about 40 minutes from my 1st encounter with a CPB officer through secondary inspection. The only reason it took this long was about a 15 minute wait when I entered secondary inspection, then the camera would not work and the officer had not done K1's b4, so he had to ask around otherwise the process was painless and the officers were nice. However, they did not seem to be aware of the single entry stipulation on the K1. One of them said I could go back & forth until I got married...of course this is not true. They did in the end impart more accurate information.

When i stepped out to leave there was a CPB officer playing with his K-9. Even though it would appear that they hadn't molested me about my vehicle & possessions, I bet the K-9 gave my truck a sniff test.

  10. What is D/S?

I do not know how CO will react to your case knowing it's evidently violated immigration laws. Overstayed Visa and worked illegally seem to be the issues here. Have you considered retaining an immigrant attorney?

D/S means that you are admitted for duration of status. According to the Foreign Affairs Manual and USCIS Adjudicators manual ppl admitted for D/S only become unlawfully present after formal finding of status violation by the USCIS (during adjudication of an immigration benefit) or by an Immigration Judge during proceedings. Unlawful presence starts on the day of formal finding.

Thanx for your input chuckandkim. However, I was hoping to hear from someone who is familiar with these circumstances.

  11. Just about all the forums/ fora I have visited with regards to unlawful presence/ overstays feature EWIs, VWP, B1/2. I was hoping to hear from K1 beneficiaries who were previously in the U.S on F1 or any visa class for which they were admitted for D/S.

Is it really true that if you were admitted for D/S, you do not accrue unlawful presence unless there is a formal finding of status violation?

How does the Conoff react to applicant answering "No"(based on the formal finding technicality) to the question of whether applicant violated the terms of visa when it's evident from DS230, G325, etc that the applicant stopped going to school and worked illegally?

Is there anyone out there who has been down this road or know someone who has?

My K1 visa interview is in <2weeks :help:

  12. HI, I read that they changed the requirements and that only electronically filled out forms would be accepted at the consulate, no more hand written forms will be accepted so that requires using the forms on line. I did that rather than using the fomrs that we got from Montreal. Which, by the way were the outdated versions. I hope this won't cause a problem...

We got our packet 3 on Friday, from Montreal.....NOOOOOO mention was made in the letter or instructions of their recent policy change regarding the DS-156. The thing that PEEVES ME OFF ROYALLY is the additional note on the website of "Hand-written forms will no longer be accepted. If you appear for your interview with a hand-written DS-156 application form you will be turned away and assigned another date for your interview." So it's ok for these idiots to not give proper instructions and then TURN YOU AWAY for not having completed the form properly. This, after you've already waited longer than necessary because they can't seem to do their jobs properly.

So , without the benefit of this particular website and the invaluable source of information it provides, how would a person just fumbling through this process know to check the consualte website for additional instruction?

Add this to the list of Montreal gripes!!!

The note on electronic DS156 is included in P4

  13. If they find out that you worked with out authorization, that it can cause you some big problems.

A quick internet search resulted in this one:

    http://discuss.ilw.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/...1/m/49610421631

    Good luck.

thanks for your input, however, I was hoping to hear from someone who is familiar a with a situation such as mine. Unauthorized employment is normally forgiven upon marriage to USC for aliens already in the U.S
