The immigration process is done per country. One week they process applications from one country, next week the next country in line. I was told this by a person that worked for a processing center a few years back. So, if you miss that week, your waiting time will be longer. Also, if you get an RFE that adds at least 30 days to it too.

Are you at NVC now? maybe you go smoothly there and make up the lost time.

Not yet, still waiting! The USCIS has 90 days to send the case over to the NVC. Most cases on VJ shows from two to four weeks. The NVC’s representative said that files being received no later than four to six weeks. We are into our fifth week waiting now, so hopefully soon!!

I asked a Tier II representative recently. There is no reason why. I did get an RFE that required extra time, but beyond that no. A friend of mine that used to work for the immigration years ago, mentioned that applications were processed by country. If you miss your country’s turn, you would  have to wait until the next time it came around. This might explain why, if they still follow the same procedure.

I am Oct 3rd CR1 and 2 people from February 2018 have been approved.

    The USCIS emailed me:

"We ask that you allow additional time for this process to take place since we process these cases in the order received. " In the order received??? My question:

is it possible that the Officers who are Humans with Political views, feelings, gender, nationality affiliations etc....could approve some applications before others???

Honestly, I am trying my hardest to come up with an explanation. True every case is different, but 3 and 5 months difference between Application A and Application B s approvals is a bit extensive.

It took us 475 days to get NOA2 approved. It’s been more than a month now and the case is not yet sent to NVC. We have been waiting a long time. It’s very difficult.

  5. When your case is approved with the USCIS it’s done so far. The US consulate is not making a second judgement on what’s already been approved. What they are looking for is evidense of an ongoing relationship. That’s why you like to present all available pictures, airline tickets, hotel receipts, phone records, chats, etc. from the time of your I-130 application to the final interview.

  6. I filed the I-130 December 2016 for my wife in Nigeria. I went through the naturalization process and became a US citizen last October. The following month in November 2017, I received an RFE. Today is 90 days since the CSC received my response to the RFE. I contacted USCIS customer service and spoke to a Tier 2 representative. He told me it could take between three months to a year to get NOA2. I hope this information can help some of you.
