    Father passed away before IR5 visa Interview

    Hope you all are safe.

    I am in very tensed situation as my father passed away last month. Whats going to be next process for my mother?

    my parents visa interview was on March23th at Mumbai consulate. Visa Interview was canceled due to Covid Lockdown in Mumbai and I received below email,

     

    Dear Applicant,
     
    Information for visa applicants regarding novel coronavirus: As of March 16, 2020 the United States Embassy and Consulates in India are cancelling routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments. At this time your appointment is cancelled. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at www.ustraveldocs.com/in to request an emergency appointment.

    My parents actual Interview was on November 26th 2019 but we extended as my father was not well and we got 2nd interview on March 23 but that was canceled due to COVID. 
    NOW MY MOTHER IS ALONE IN INDIA AND I WANT HER TO BE WITH ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. 
    Please help me with any useful information if you may have.

    What is the DQ date?   As of yesterday, any one waiting for Mumbai IR/CR visas with a documentary qualification date thru May 6 have gotten the interviews.   There has been significant delays with MUMBAI over the summer and perhaps they will be resolved with the fiscal year completion and the lessening of demand for non-immigrant visas.    If you had a June DQ date, it is perhaps unlikely for you to get an interview notification till October which means the interview will be in November.   A number of folks had waited 4 months for an interview date over the summer.   Your mileage may vary but be prepared for delays.

    My DQ for parents is June 26. One of member for IR5 did receive interview yesterday for his mother but not for dad.

    Have you received Interview for your parents yet?? if not then call NVC and they will mearge father and mother case together in order to get interview on same day. 

    I had same question regarding interview date as father and mother case was approved on different date. After taking both case number they put my phone on hold for 10 min and said "now your parents will get interview on same day" 

    Over the phone he mentioned that typically parents receive interview together.

    Friend of mine received Interview date email exactly after 1 month of case completion. It took about 3 weeks for his case to get complete after documents submission. 

    How long did it take for your case to complete after you finish all steps on the website?? I submitted all documents last week and would like to know the time frame to case completion.

    Hello All,

    I have submitted all necessary civil documents along with Affidavit of Support forms and documents for my Parents. Can you please share your experience and let me know how long will it take for them to review documents and to receive Interview date??

    Also, see the Photo section in documents list, I do not know what photos do i need to submit for my parents?? Does it passport size scanned photos??

    I received BMB case number and IV invoice number via Email 2 weeks back. I have paid IV fees and now DS260 form got active as well but i am waiting for my father BMB number. I called NVC and they informed me that wait till 15march if you do not receive it by that time then email us.  They said they were waiting for some documents from USCIS before they send me email. According to them it was on last stage so I guess I should receive it any time soon.

    My parents application was received by NVC on Jan 17 and I received BMB case number for my mother but I have not for my father. I called them yesterday and after 1 hour of wait they said the same thing wait for at list 8 weeks. If you do not receive any thing by that time call us again. I paid both fees for my mothers case yesterday and now waiting game for my fathers case. Hopefully will receive soon.
