Hello all, is the BCG vaccination required if you have had it as a kid for the medical? I don't see it on the list but my wife was asked about it. Or is it just the X-ray they do

The BCG shouldn't be required either way. In the United Sates we don't get the BCG, the cxr is going to be required, or a quantiferum gold blood test; what ever the embassy mandates. Either way it's surprising the nurse at the designated embassy health center doesn't know. Also, keep in mind if she ever gets a Mendel-Mantoux skin test it will be most likely positive.

@stricky So sorry to hear but many times it's a case of the left hand not talking to the right hand or for that matter, fingers on the same hand not talking to each other. Keep us posted on what they say. I am also curious to know how they expect you to send a copy when it's sealed!

So my wife just contacted the Aichi prefecture police department in Japan, and asked for two copies of her background police report. They informed her they are only authorized to give one report per case and it is, in fact, voided if opened by anyone other than the embassy. This kind of thing always happens to me haha. I'll call first thing in the morning, before my exam and try and get to the bottom of this.

  3. Thank you for your response. I still don't know how I am supposed to infer that from their wording. To me it clearly says that nothing needs to be sent? Oh well I'm not a lawyer. I did find it extremely strange that when I was getting my IV packet around that I didn't need the police report. Also, I maybe should have my wife get two copies? As it says if its opened it is invalid, and ill have to open one to make copies.

  4. Man I am fuming right now over the NVC's joke of an organization. Pardon me because I'm Irate (am many of the rest of are as our patience wares thin.) I got a check list last night asking for the police certificate for my wife from Japan, before they can process my case. It instructed me to go to the nvc document finder on the NVC web sight for Japan to find the appropriate document to send5a884b9c7a446_ncv.ststesrequirements.thumb.PNG.365bdf1701534d52c1220e31515ddd95.PNG. (which i did when I first gathered my documents) and the website clearly states not to send police reports from japan to the nvc, but to bring them to the interview . What should I do call them on Tues, and try to tell them that their website is why I didn't send anything in the first place? Ill attach pics 5a884b7769133_checklist.PNG.141a9171ffa5a489804f2541c0e59b96.PNG

Congratulations!! That is great news. I called twice this week to try to speak with a tier 2 again.(I've  called twice for a TIer 2 since September) The first time the recording said the wait time was 6 mins. I never received a call back. The next day I called again and the wait was 62 mins. I never got a call back. I was able to do a case inquiry again on the USCIS website. I already did one case inquiry on Nov 6 with a response that our case was in line to be reviewed. Our PD date is April 19 at Potomac. So frustrating to not know why our case was skipped. Most April  cases  were  approved back in September.  I'm going to try again first thing Monday morning.

    Congratulations dear

Thank you all for your kind words and wishes. The community on this site is super supportive and friendly. I feel we can all empathize with each other, and it brings us together to help one another. I really hope you all hear something back very soon. good luck on Monday CK=MH

  6. "I feel the same way. We are  PD 4-19. I have done a case inquiry and spoke to Tier 2 officer and the response was the same. We are in line to be reviewed. That's it. Happy for all the approvals but sad feeling like we  should  have been approved 2 months ago<_<"

When did you file your service request? and have you heard anything back yet? They told me I would receive a letter in 2 weeks or so. Do you know what we're supposed to do if they get to July and our cases haven't even been adjudicated yet?

  7. Finally called and got a tier 2 officer that was some what helpful. I have a May 23 priority date at Potomac center. I called and she informed me that my case had not yet been assigned to an officer from what she could tell, and that she was going to file a service request for my case. She said that right now Potomac is filing for June 1st! I don't know how I got left behind. I understand that I'm lucky to be at Potomac when others have longer waits at the dreaded Nebraska and Texas. Still, it is so frustrating to feel so close and then watch the train pass you by.

  8. Man, Im happy for all the approvals, congratz!

I just called USCIS yesterday to check on my case and the man looked up my number and saw that in his service request system the processing dates were for Indianapolis, which didn't make senses for either of us, so this morning I was able to talk to a tier 2 officer, and all he told me is that my case is processing at Potomac, and they are processing from March, what do you ask a tier two to get more information? Honestly they have been less helpful than the tier 1 officers I have talked to.

Priority for NAO1 May 23 Potomic Center

What about the information on this website. Is it worth it is it reliable?  When I check my timeline I made here it says my case should be adjudicated between November and December of 2017. This wait is making upset with each passing of the months.

The information on the USCIS website is hardly reliable, it is best to keep checking the self reported data on THIS website, and to reliably update your own information for others. There was a period of 3 months the Potomac information wasn't updated for at all, and when I called to question it they told me that the information was updated and that January was just a heavy month, then I stated that I knew people were being processed from March, and that they were lucky they were a government agency because if they were a private company  and they ran their updates like this they would be out of business in no time. So that agent probably black listed me and my wife is probably never coming now haha. Moral of the story never trust USCIS website information.

  10. Hello all, I got married in January, and Filed in May got my priority date, May 25th. I called a tier two officer today, and tried to inquire where patomic really was in their processing (its been January 1st as of May 31st for 2 months on the uscis website) and was received rather rudely. Anyway it was completely unproductive. So I'm hoping we all hear something in October, it would be a good birthday present for me! Any way Does anyone know how long the rest of the process will take after we receive the NOA2 for US citizens filing for immediate relatives? Just a couple more months correct?
