  1. Okay, thank you so much. Another question, when you registered for your interview, did you have a problem with it saying "No appointments available"? My fiance called to schedule (like the email said) but then was told he HAD to schedule online and the guy wouldn't answer his questions... Do they just have like blocks of time available randomly? Okay, thanks!
  2. Hello, This has probably been asked but I can't seem to find it anywhere. My fiance (from Canada) and I (USA) are wondering about how long after the visa interview (& approval), will his visa and passport be available to pick up? What is the estimated timing & how long did it take for you, if you've received it already. We are going to set up our interview but we don't know if we want to pick it up or have it sent to his house. Our interview will be in Montreal (about 7 hours away from his house) so I'm visiting for two weeks to drive there with him and then there is an option to pick up in Mississauga. Do you think I will still be there by the time it is ready? Just looking for general answers. Thank you in advance.
  3. Okay, thank you. There has only been one time he was interviewed while trying to cross the border and that was when we drove back to my state and he didn't have a job. He will be flying here so I think we will be okay. I may just have him bring evidence just in case!
  4. Okay, besides a letter from work stating that he still works there and the purchased tickets, i'm not sure what else he could use as evidence. He currently lives with his dad and doesn't pay rent as he is allowing him to save money to move here. Do you think those two things would suffice?
  5. Hello again, My fiance and I filed and got our NOA1 on August 6, 2018. We want to spend Christmas and New Years together. However, I don't have enough vacation time at work to visit him this year so I have to wait till Jan 1 to get my new vacation time. He is from Canada and our plan is that he would be here for a week, we would go back to Canada together and I would stay for a week... We were wondering if he would be able to visit for a week in December since we have already filed? He does have a job and we would have all tickets purchased to also present as evidence that he would not be staying but i'm not sure if that is enough evidence or not.
  6. Hi, I was just reading the what information it asks for and i'm actually the petitioner and it seems it is asking for information based on my beneficiary... Would it matter if I put his information there, as in the country immigrating from, his closest office, etc.?
  7. Thank you everyone who has commented! I did start my timeline and it says it may be adjudicated between February 11 - 15, 2019!!!!! Still far away but I'm so excited to see!!! Thanks again everyone!
  8. Hello, My fiance and I mailed our paperwork in August. I got a paper receipt saying that have received our payment and paperwork, all my information on the receipt was correct and it mentioned that our case was "in process". When I search our case number online it only says "received" and to follow the instructions given on our receipt. I've triple checked the receipt and all it says is to call them and update my information if anything changes... I'm wondering if "received" online also means it is "in process" OR does it change to "in process" when it actually is in process?

    Employment Question

Okay, thank you so much for clarifying for me.
  10. Hello all, I'm sorry if this has been asked already. I am the petitioner and I want to get a different job. The only reason I am staying with my current employer is because i'm worried switching will basically restart our process. We haven't filed yet but we will be within the next 2 months. I've been with this company for over 2 years now and I thought I read somewhere that you need to show proof of a stable income when you petition. If I were to take a different job, would that work against us since I would just be starting with that company?
  11. Okay, thank you. Does the DS-160 have a filing fee?
  12. I am the petitioner. I'm concerned to put my current address and then it changing during the process before he gets approved.
  13. Hello, Not sure if this has been asked before but I wasn't finding anything on it. My question isn't how you change your address after moving... On the form, there is a section about where your beneficiary is planning to live and I'm wondering how it will work if I put my current address but move during processing. For instance, I live with my sister and her family. I currently am paying down debt and then plan to apply for a mortgage. If I use her address when we apply and then I end up getting approved on the mortgage loan, will that affect his approval odds of getting a K1-Visa? Would we just have to notify them that he will be living at my new house even though we initially put my current address? Thank you for taking the time to read and answer this in advance! -April
