  1. Does anyone here still have a pending case? My PD is June 30, 2017. Last update on I485 is 'Response to USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received' and I-130 is just 'Case Was Received.' I submitted SR that case is outside processing time on August 2018. USCIS told me that my case is scheduled for an interview and Field Office will contact me in 90 days. I called USCIS again after 91 days and told me to wait for another 30 days. Also I just submitted an SR again. This time is for I-765 (PD June 1, 2018). Although I have 180 days EAD extension, I can’t renew my driving license. My work requires me to operate a vehicle and do work outside my office. Is this a good reason to expedite EAD?

    Hi Fellow Indonesian,

Q15:I believe the second one, because that's the latest /most recent.

Q18: DA on I-94 means “Advance Parole granted by District Office under Section 212(d)(5) of the I&N Act.”

    https://www.quora.com/What-does-a-class-of-admission-DA-on-the-I94-mean-while-filing-for-F1-OPT-STEM-extension

    Q19:

    Hope it helps!

Thank you very much! It helps a lot:)

  3. Hi everyone,

I know this is an old post but I have same situation as OP. So I'll just post my questions here.

My EAD will expire on 9/28/2018 while AOS is still pending. So I will go ahead and renew my EAD.

I have couple questions regarding the I-765 application:

Q15. Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS? –Yes. But do I enter Potomac Center (my very first EAD application during OPT) or National Benefit Center (where I filed AOS & EAD/AP package)

Q18. Status at Last Entry: DA (Got it from I-94). What's DA by the way?

Q19. Current Immigration Status: Adjustment of Status? Advance Parole? Parolee?

    Thank you!

  4. Hello everyone,

I've been waiting for 196 days for I-485 (Last update: Response to USCIS' Request for evidence was received) and 235 days for I-130 (Last update: case was received).

My PD is June 30, 2017 (NBC). I noticed most June or even July filers had their NOA2 already. I got my EAD/AP in September 2017 (Requested expedite service). Is it a normal time frame for an approval? Which one to get approve first? I-485 or I-130?

What will happen if I apply for graduate school while AOS is in progress? Will I get student visa during this period? Would I be qualified for in-state tuition?

Is it better to wait for the green card?

Any thoughts comments, suggestions would be appreciated ! Thanks

It means your EAD/AP card is approved and you should get it roughly within two weeks or less.  Your I-485 was NOT approved but was paused because of the RFE. Most I-130 filed concurrently with I-485 will be approved on the day of interview(provided your case was approved by the IO). The processing time for your I-485 depends on the field office handling your case. Right now I would suggest you concentrate on just working and waiting patiently.

    Good luck

I received my approval notice on October 5th for the EAD and Travel Document. Then the next day, I got the combo card! YAY!

  6. Hello everyone,

I am currently on F-1 OPT. OPT expires October 13, 2017. On March 2017, I married a U.S. citizen. We filed AOS package and Travel documents on June 30, 2017 at NBC.

    Here’s my timeline:

    30-Jun-2017

Filed AOS package and Travel Document

    5-Jul-2017

USCIS received fingerprint fee for I-485

    6-Jul-2017

    Received I-797 Receipt Notices

    15-Jul-2017

    Received Appointment for Biometrics Notice

    26-Jul-2017

Received RFE Notice (I-130A. Somehow lawyer forgot to send it together with AOS package). Sent the I-130A on Sept 28.

    3-Aug-2017

    Did Biometrics

    8-Aug-2017

RFE (I-130A) was received by USCIS

    11-Sep-2017

    Called USICS to expedite EAD

    12-Sep-2017

USCIS: Expedite request was assigned to an officer. Referral ID: T1*****.

We sent a response to your request to have your case expedited.

Another update: your request to have your case expedited was completed

    18-Sep-2017

Called USCIS regarding the expedited case status. Told me they sent an email requesting proof of severe financial loss on September 13. But I did not get the email. So turned out there was a misunderstanding in communication. Officer whom I spoke with on Sept 11 misspelled my email address.

    20-Sep-2017

Sent a fax asking for congressman’s help regarding EAD case.

29-Sept-2017              Checked my EAD’s status. Got a new update: New Card is Being Produced. “On                                                    September 29, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSC***, and will                                          mail it to the address you gave us.

    I have couple of questions:

    1.      How long does it take to get my EAD card after this update? Does it mean my Travel document is approved as well? I plan to travel at the end of December so I am a little bit worried if it’s not approved.

    2.      Do you think my I-485 process reset to August 8th? And does it mean my AOS is approved? I have not received any updates for I-130 and I-131 (Last update: Case was Received) and the last update for I-485 is Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received.

  7. GUYS!!!! I just received a notification from the USICS for my EAD that...."New Card Is Being Produced"

OMG I am soooo happy! I called the USCIS yesterday and spoke to an officer asking if they have received the proof of severe financial loss that I sent via fax. But the lady said I have to wait up to a month to get a notification and there is nothing she can do right now since she can't check on that. And literally an hour ago I just checked the USCIS website, but no updates.

Then, ta da... my new card is arriving soon :jest: USCIS is unpredictable lol

  8. Thank you everyone for the advice and information.

I will patiently wait for a response from the Congressman and USCIS. I hope I will get further information regarding my case, whether they resume my case or put in back on the queue.

I was so naïve thinking that everything will go smoothly. I thought I will get my new EAD card on time (my first EAD’s process was rather fast). I guess not :<

I thought USCIS processes EAD and GC differently. After I read some other threads, I realize they need to accept I-130 and I-485 first before issuing EAD card lol

Oh, I just realized I had a typo! The RFE is about I-130A (Supplemental Information for Spouse and Beneficiary). How did my lawyer forget to submit it..  it's his job though tsk tsk tsk...

How to know if I speak to T1 or T2 officer? Do I need to ask to transfer my call to T2 officer?

  9. Hello...

    I am new here....

Currently on F-1 OPT. OPT expires October 13, 2017. On March, I married my U.S. citizen boyfriend.

We filed AOS and Travel documents on June 30, 2017.

A month ago, I have been notified by my HR to present a new unexpired work permit to keep my employment.

I am anxiously waiting for news from USCIS regarding my EAD…..In 20 days I need to get my EAD card in hand. Otherwise, I might be jobless :((

Also, I have made flight reservation and plan to go back to my county to have a wedding at the end of December!!

I am super worried if I do not get my combo card soon. My job…my wedding… ARGHH

Does anyone here have the same job situation as mine? What should I do/ my employer does in this situation?

Can I still be working WITHOUT PAY (more like a volunteer job) after my OPT expires if my employer let me does that until I get my EAD? What’s y’all recommendation? I just feel bad to my employer because I have not worked for a year yet, and will be taking leave for wedding..  and plus I might need to take unpaid leaves for indefinite time until I get my EAD
