    AOS Approval Without Interview?

    Yesterday I received an I-797 Notice Of Action, which starts with "Welcome To The United States Of America".

    It goes on to state that the application to adjust permanent status has been approved. Further down it states that they will soon mail out a new Permanent Resident Card which we should recieve in 3 weeks.

    However, we never went through an interview, just the biometrics. I did a search and haven't seen any new threads on this subject for almost two years (perhaps I didn't look hard enough?) Do we really not have to go through the interview now?

    It's not a fluke, because I recieved the same letter for my wifes son (K-2). We filed around the last week of July, before the rate increase took place - could the flood of applicants have anything to do with that? Very odd - of course, I am not complaining in the least!

    Anyone else have any experiences like this?

    "Card production ordered"

    Does anyone have a sense of how long it is taking to receive the EAD card after status is changed to "Card Production ordered"? My status said that my card was ordered on October 31, then it said my card was ordered (AGAIN) on November 5. Since then I have heard nothing. No approval notice, and no card in the mail. I'm starting to get a little worried, especially with some job prospects lined up ... Anyone in a similar boat or have thoughts?

    Excellent! I've been worried because when I originally filed the I-765 back in the beginning of September I accidentally put (a)(6) in box 16 like a dummy! Then on October 3rd I mailed them a letter asking to correct this mistake and put code (c )(9) in box 16. Apparently the letter worked. :dance:

    It takes around a week or so. Hope you get it soon! :)

    Hey everyone.. so some of you may remember my MOH fiasco... well her friend, the other bridesmaid, just wrote me an email.

    Hey Liz

    I just thought that I would let you know that Jenny is really, really hurt and upset by the way you left without speaking with her.

    Jenny takes friendship very, very seriously and gets hurt quite often from a lot of her friends.

    She really wished you reached a little further out to her (perhaps a phone call) before you left.

    She said if you had called and expressed that you really wanted to see her before you left she would have come to your going away party, but she felt like it really didn’t matter to you either way. We spoke about this last night.

    This is probably based off of the fact that apparently when you asked her to step down as the maid of honour, you started off by saying “I don’t know if our friendship will withstand this,” or something along those lines, which gave her the impression that you had no faith in the strength of it at all.

    I tried to explain that you thought you did reach out with the text and e-vite, but Jenny thought that was very impersonal and since you sent them to everyone else as well it was obviously not specific to her.

    She’s really hurting thinking that her friendship meant so little to you.

    If that is not the case, I think you should try to get that across to her.

    A written letter or a phone call would probably be best. (Not email).

    Just a suggestion.

    With "friends" like this I rather stay alone! :unsure: This girl is all about herself, not about your friendship.... I would let her go :whistle:

    Hey all-

    My wife got a strange message on her vm this afternoon telling her that her residence interview is scheduled for this Friday. Is it odd to get a phone call for the initial interview without any kind of paperwork (ie receipt or interview prep)? Also, she didn't say what to bring, just who my officer is and the time to be there...in 48 hours!! I'm freakin out just a little as I like to be prepared, has anyone else gotten notified this way?

    just got back from interview (Milwaukee).

    Officer was nice, friendly, didnt ask much so I am not sure if he has much experience as and AOfficer.

    Anyways, even though he didnt take the I94 from the boys passports, he did say we should put their names on the mailbox in order to get the green cards (and that we needed to wait).

    SO we are assuming we are approved.

    Glad you had a good Officer and everything went smooth. Congratulations!! :dance:

    interview appointment will be this february 11, 2008.

    My wife's card arrived Friday in the mail. Now no more dealings with immigration until 7-30-2009

    Congrats! No more USCIS for a while :thumbs:

    We are very much prepared for the trick and treaters to show up . We turn on all the lights at the front door and garage, lit the jack-o-lantern, a small bag full of candies and chocolate are ready to hand them but no one coming. :( . Robin and I are so excited and really looking forward to have them in our front door.Oh well.. :(

    Now we have so many candies and chocolates , I think it takes a month before we finish eating them.

    I am eating some left over candy right now :P
