  1. Hi everyone. We just called and found out that they cashed our money order and sent out the letter on the 13th of this week and got our case number! Our form was delivered 11/23/2020 so we were getting super worried. Hopefully everyone that are waiting get the good news soon as well!

    Money Order Cashed 1/14/2021
NOA received: Not received as of yet, mailed out 1/13/2021

  2. Hey everyone! So my wife got approved her IR1 on Oct 31, 2018. We aren't entering the U.S. until Feb 20, 2019 because her Dad got cancer and we were taking care of him until he got better. We are all paid up for all the fees and have the X-rays and Packet that was sent to us and of course her passport with the Visa in it. Is there anything else we need to bring? Also, do we need to advise the USCIS what date we are entering? How does the process work when we reach the POE? An officer just takes us aside and opens the packet? Thanks everyone for your help!

  3. Hi everyone! So my wife got her CR1 visa approved on Oct 31st after a long process! So excited. However, due to job and family reasons, we are staying in Ecuador until late February and will be moving to the U.S. either Feb 28 or March 1st. Her  visa is good until April but there is a rule that she has to enter 6 months before her passport expires, and it expires Sept 9th, meaning she has to enter before March 9th. My question is, would we get any trouble if she entered March 1st/March 4th instead of Feb 28th? As long as we enter the country before March 9th we are fine right? Thanks for all the info and your help!

  4. Hey everyone. Hope everyone's cases are moving along super fast! This week I got our case #, our invoice #, was e-mailed that our welcome packet has been mailed to my U.S. address and was able to log into ceac, and fill out the DS-261 and print out the confirmation page. The "pay now" links for the AOS and IV fee seem to be functional but everytime  I click them I am sent this error message (posted below). Is this error message due to that they are currently processing the DS-261? How long does that usually take? Also how do you know when it is fully processed and you can pay the AOS fee?

Thanks for all the help! Sending best wishes everyone's way as well!

  5. Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well and get your case # soon! Yesterday, 8 weeks exactly after our case arrived at the NVC, we got our Case #! I called today and was able to get our Invoice ID # as well. I am able to access the DS-261 application online but the worker who I talked to today said I can't do anything until I receive the welcome packet that they are mailing to my U.S. address (which supposedly can take up to 4 weeks). Is this true or can I go ahead and submit the DS-261 right now since I have the case # and Invoice ID #? Thanks so much for all your help and support! Sending best thoughts to everyone as well!

  6. Hey everyone! Hope everyone's cases are moving along! This long wait sucks but this community and info on VisaJourney has been super helpful! Quick question. I just called the NVC and they said they received my case yesterday (March 27th) but the officer also told me it could take up to 8 weeks to get a case #. Is this true, has it been taking that long to get a case # assigned? Also once we get a case #, are we able to fill out and pay the DS-261 AOS bill right away? Thanks everyone for the feedback!

  7. Hi, I am a U.S. citizen that started the CR-1 process for my wife and we got our NOA-1 with priority date Aug 28, 2017. However, since I am currently living in Ecuador and travel a lot I ran out of passport pages and had to apply for a new one. I have just been emitted a new U.S. passport and it has a new passport number. However, I had submitted the I-130 with a copy of my old passport (with the old passport number). Should I call the USCIS to update my passport number? Is this going to affect our approval process that is already way too long? Any input would help, thanks so much and I hope everyone's process is going well.

    Regards,
