Hello, I am a 17 year old boy who lives in Lebanon and is willing to study in the USA. My family filed for a greencard (I-130) in 2011, which consists of me, my mom and dad, and my younger sister. The problem is that it’s taking too long, the case was approved but it still needs around 5-6 years and I want to study in a university in USA soon. My grandmother is a permanent resident over there and has a house where I am willing to stay there if everything worked out hopefully as I am planning. My question is, can I get an approval for a student visa (I-20) and study in the USA whilst waiting for my I-130? I am not willing to stay there after my study period since my whole family is here in Lebanon, I only have my grandmother living there. I am willing to study 4-5 years if not more.
