She gets here.  you both go to the local court house clerk, show ID's like passports, etc, and both sign and pay your fees for the license.   Then, if getting married in the court by a judge, you make the appointment,  show up with 2 legal witnesses, get married ,  and you are on your way!  Come back in a couple days and collect the one and only original certificate of marriage.

    thanks.

Can we get a license in Texas, and get married in Vegas?

Check they have the correct address for you. It'll need to be right going forward as many haven't got online or SMS updates for their NOA2s, they have only received their approval letter in paper form via the mail.

You can submit an online enquiry

thanks but I got a WAC number I received online.  If my status changes, this website should show the changes too right?

I am going to call them tomorrow and try to verify my address with them

The good thing is the petition is received, and you have a receipt number, so the case is started!  I would simply call the number and tell them that you have not yet received the paper copy from of the 797.  I believe I received mine 10 days after I got the email.  The next step now is to patiently wait.  My fiancé's petition has been with the California Service Center for over 3 months now, and it is true about the backlog.  Anyways, do call them and ask them for the paper copy of the 797, and then wait for the NOA2.  Best of luck!

    Thanks Edward for the reply

does 797 contain any instructions that I should follow?

I have called them 3 times already and they make it sound like 797  its nothing more than a confirmation and there is not much to it.

One guy told me that email should be good enough for now.

I just want to make sure that all the information I have submitted is correct and is being processed correctly.

  4. I submitted 129f form late November and I got an email notification stating   below:

"CASE WAS RECEIVED; On October 2, 2017, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number WAC**********, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by November 1, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I have no yet received the receipt notice mentioned in the email above. I haven't received anything at all so I have no idea what my steps are next.  I called the number and they said they still processing and it could take up to 5 months before I received anything because they of the backlog and are currently processing documents they received on MAY!(which sounds like very genetic answer)

Should I worry about anything? What can I do to?

    thanks

  5. I want to apply for finance visa instead of spousal visa because I dont want her to wait for me another 6~8 months after we get married to come to the US.

The plan is to get fiancee visa approved, have ceremony outside of the states(non official), and once she comes here with her fiancee visa, get married(apply for marriage licence without a ceremony).

Anybody have any thoughts or experience int his matter?

  6. Hi.  I am completely new to this so please bear with me.

I am trying to fill out I-129F for my korean gf. I am planning to use korean to fill in her address and work history.(or should I? I am afraid they will send information to wrong address by using English)

If i use Korean, it says that I must submit a translation. Where I do submit the translation?  do I just use a piece of paper and provide the translation?

    thanks
