Hey everyone! I've been busy recently and didn't have the time to update you all.
My Mom's police clearance was received by the US Embassy last December 27. Lo and behold, after a few days, I received an email from them requesting for my husband's I-864, tax forms and W-2s. I was so aggaravated. First of all, I intended to sponsor my Mom by myself since I make enough money according to the poverty guidelines they specified. Last October, a month before my Mom's interview, they asked for my husband's I-864A and I complied, and now they're asking for another document. I was so upset. Of course I called the US Embassy, unfortunately, if you call their call center, they can't provide you with the specifics of your case. I learned it a few days after calling every single day. Their call center escalated it blah blah blah but never heard anything back. So finally I sent them an email and they responded a week after saying they want me to submit the documents. They didn't even address my other questions. UGH! Talk about customer service! Anyway, I just sent the documents to my mom and she should get it tomorrow and send it to the US Embassy via 2GO. I'm really really really hoping this is the last stretch as I can't wait to finally be with my mom. All my fingers are crossed!
That sucks with the costumer service! Just hang in the Jennnna, she will be there pretty soon!! We arrived here in Minnesota Jan.7 and mom is not really impressed with Winter. Goodluck dear!

Yayyyy! I'm so happy for you and your mom @bhelle! Your wait is finally over. Are you and your mom coming back here in the US together?
Regarding your question, I didn't know about that.. i thought before they leave they will have their permanent resident something in their passport, and when they arrive here in the US, they will get their cards. Sorry, maybe other who are done with the process can answer you.
Thank you Jennnnnna. You're next, hang in there! Yup we will go back next week! I can't wait..

Hello guys, I just want to share my Timeline again and my mom's journey for those new applicants here!
Feb 17 2017 sent petition for mom
Feb 21 Priotity Date
Feb 27 NOA1
July 20 NOA2
July 31 Welcome Letter NVC with
1.NVC CASE NUMBER
2.INVOICE ID NUMBER
AUG 1 CHOICE OF AGENT
PAID AOS FEE
*AUG 8 sent AOS & IV PACKETAUG 16 paid IV FEE
(16 days "IN PROGRESS" status)
*AUG.24 finally they changed my status to PAIDAUG.25 DS260 Completed!
OCT12 case completed
OCT31 they sent the interview letter, DEC 4 is her original interview date.Nov16-17 st.lukes, mom's medical.
I called them to change my mom's interview date to December 22 because I have a college entrance exam on Dec.5.
I arrived in the Philippines Dec17..
Dec22,Friday, my mom's interview at the US Embassy 8:40am..
I booked hotel 5 mins walk only from US Embassy.
We arrived there at 5am,so early because we thought there will be a lot of people.
WARNING: "Scammers everywhere be carefuL!!!"
So these freaking Filipino vendors, scammers will ask you to be seated on their stools/chairs but they will ask you to pay too. They will keep asking and telling everybody PHONES are not allowed because they want you to leave their phones to them and they gonna charge you too for that, or worst case scenario won't give your phones back anymore! I didn't trust them and guess what, you can leave your phones at US embassy counters for free and more SAFE!!!!
NOTE: US CITIZEN PETITIONERS are very allowed to join their parents on the interview 'till the end. I had my 3 years old daughter also with me. They were very nice! Just show your blue passport!
Pre-interview: Questions are very easy.. personal info. They asked me too if I am still married with my husband, and my name of course. They asked my mom's original documents such as Birth certificate, DS260 barcoded,Passport, and My Birth Certiricate..
They didn't even ask any pictures or marriage contract or police clearances. They also didn't ask any finances such as W2 or I864A.. The 1st interviewer asked my mom if she needs a translator. She said yes..
The Next step, Fingerprinting..
BUT we didn't know that the Filipino girl who assisted mom for her fingerprints will be the one who will conduct her FINAL INTERVIEW! She's awesome even though she had a hard time speaking Tagalog/Filipino she tried her best to help mom.. Maybe she's very used to speak English..
That was very quick. No Idea why her interview time was 8:40am, but she's done at 8:06am, hahaha!
Dec 27, I checked that they issued her Visa on CEAC website.
And earlier at 8am I called 2GO courrier and I tracked her visa, they said they gonna deliver it today. I THINK they are afraid of traffic so they asked me if I can just pick it up at the Mall near me. I said that's better than them finding my house and getting lost. Google maps doesn't show my house too!
at 5pm I finally got my mom's Visa and went to the internet cafe right away so I can register an appointment for her CFO Seminar tomorrow. I am lucky there are still spots available.
Sorry this is too long! Pardon my Grammar also.
Thank you for being part of my mom's journey. I got a lot of information from here.
*special thanks to Jennnnna
I just have a question, why IR5 has only 1 year permission to reside in the US? I am confused!

My mom didn't ask for an interpreter but ended up getting one anyway The interviewer was nice and didn't really ask too much questions. My mom said he was direct to the point. He did ask for a family picture which of course should include myself as the petitioner. He ask how long have I been here in the US and my bday.. Aside from the issue with the police clearance, it turned out great.
Heheh! That's a cute experience. Made me smiLe ♡ thank you Jennna, as always I am praying she will have a nice interviewer too like your mom. Then another CFO seminar , yayks!

So guys can you share some questions about your mom's interview please? I am planning to request a translator because my mom is not good in english. Her interview will be on the 22nd next month. So nervous!
Thank you everyone!

So my mom sputum results came back and everything is ok. Thanks for the prayers VJers. Doctor will send results to the embassy this week and crossing finger they will schedule interview for early December. I'm praying the police record doesn't expire. They however have the option to waive a renewal. Good luck to us all!!!
Good News! Congratulations! I know interview is just for formality Goodluck!

Ouch!!!! what a set back, but I do understand because I'm in a 2-3 months wait after my mom did her medical, they saw a spot on her lung from the xray. They had her do the 3-day sputum test, so now we are waiting on the cultures to hang out and cough up a result ....Good luck to us all!!
Sorry to hear about your mom too Caramel Swirl. But let's be positive. Atleast you found out right away and now she will be healed because of the medications they gonna give her. Did they tell your mom right away at the releasing area about her results? My mom just got her brown packet and CD and it says "do not open" but they didn't tell her if she passed or not. So I called St.Lukes and the guard answered my call and explained that my mom passed.. I am still not sure but I don't care, I already booked my flight haha!
Goodluck Caramel and Jennnna!
Thank you guys because I've been following you for almost a year and special thanks to Jennnna because she updates us a lot and is very willing to reply our questions and messages!!!!
Thank you again!!!!

Hi everyone! Hope everybody's doing well Just a quick update on my case, I received an email from NVC yesterday saying that I'm missing 1 W-2 form and that I need to send it to my mom so she can bring it at the interview. I don't need to send anything to NVC and they will schedule the interview soon. I'm 100% sure I sent NVC all my and my husband's W-2 so I don't know why I missed something, but just to be sure, i'll scan everythign again and send it over to my mom. Hope I hear back from NVC soon
Congratulations!!!!!! So happy for you. ♡

Question to those who has already submitted documents to NVC... When you check the status on their website, does it say they have received the documents? Mine's stuck at Submit Documents to NVC and I have confirmed to them if they have received it, and they said they did. It's just weird how it's not updating on their system if they really have the documents on hand already.
Same here! They said they already received it but here's my status :'(

Hi bhelle! I don't think we can ask the beneficiary to do the medical examinations without interview letter from NVC/ Embassy in hand.
It says here on visa journey that in the Philippines, they allow it. That's why I got confused. But maybe it's better to call and ask them. Thank you so much!

Hi everyone,
here is my update:
7/17/17 case approved
8/15/17 emails from NVC received for both parents, chose the agent, paid AOS fee ( FYI if there are two related cases only one $120 fee is paid) - status still shows IN PROGRESS
8/23/17 got the invoices for two IV fees, paid (their website kept crashing and i got many errors had to resubmit at least 10 times, called the customer service-wasn't helpful at all, tried on SAFARI browser - payments went through - status IN PROGRESS
This "in progress" thing is also my problem. Waiting for 16 days now!!! Arrrgghhh!!!

I see :'(
I can't open DS260 because of that "IN PROGRESS" status! Goodluck to us!

To those who are curious what the next steps are after the USCIS approval, here's my NVC timeline (so far):
06/13/17 - I-130 approved
07/20/17 - got my NVC case ID and invoice # over the phone.
07/21/17 - received email from NVC with case ID and invoice # along with steps and document checklist
07/21/17 - chose agent (me) / got email confirmation right away
07/22/17 - paid $120 AOS fee (this one's tricky, because when I went to check my status on NVC's website, it says there I need to call NVC to confirm the information regarding the agent chosen was correct but on the receipt of that I received after choosing the agent, it says I will receive an email with my case id and invoice id... in my case, I just paid the fee right away since it's a Saturday and I won't be able to call NVC anyway.)
07/26/17 - AOS fee status changed from IN PROCESS to PAID
07/29/17 - called NVC because it has been a few days and the IV fee is still grayed out. I was able to confirm that I'm on the right track and that it normally takes a whole week for them to process the payment.
07/30/17 - received IV invoice for $325, paid right away (the Beneficiary ID is on this invoice. I have been wondering where I could find it since it is needed when filling out DS260
I guess I'll try to be patient and wait for 1 whole week for them to process my IV fee... I have already filled out my AOS form and just compiling all other requirements. I'll let you guys know what happens next.
I've been following you here and thanks for sharing. I am a February filer and I am having a problem with the IV FEE.. I paid August 8 on their website, they already got the money from my bank account the next day, and until now I am still waiting. It's still " IN PROGRESS" status! it will vr 2 weeks soon! I even submitted all my documents already, AOS and IV Packages and they already received them ( we called NVC)
They just said "Just wait".. but waiting is killing me:'(
How's your status Jennnnnnaaaaaa?
