  1. First of all, just want to say.....Hi to all the mom/mom to be (F)

I am having a baby boy, 12-2-08 will be my expecting due date early christmas gift ;) . Getting closer i'm getting bigger and he's moving and kicking alot now :) . Me and my hubby are getting excited, i wake up lots of time in the night not only for going to the bathroom but also to get comfortable laying down in bed switching left / right side  .

    Goodluck and best wishes all!

  2. Week 17 has been pretty nice. I am eating a lot of fresh fruit, especially papaya!

My six year old step daughter has started to say good night to baby every night. :innocent: The kids are getting really excited.

  3. Hi All,

Similar thought here, although we would like to bring my wife's sister here on a more permanent basis. Obviously she is a sister, and not a daughter so it appears all the advice on this site is not applicable to either of our situations.

Having said that, it is really disappointing that the system assumes wrong prior to it's occurrence when it comes to visits and immigration from PI. One would think, that a green card involved couple asking for a visit of a relative would suffice to have said visit be allowed, since violation would likely negatively affect the green card holder...

My wife's sister lives and works in United Arab Emirates, and as said, we would like to figure out how to have her come live here, not just visit, but it appears there is no way to help? If there is a way to help her we would love to hear about it.

Just to have her visit would be nice too. And we would do whatever we agreed to do, have her visit for a set amount of time, or come here to stay... Either way, tying it to my wife's immigration as bond should, be sufficient. (Granted the reality of USCIS appears to be that it isn't...)

ADW good luck! Wish we had some advice for you, although we will follow your thread here and see what advice you get.

  4. hello everyone! it's our 1st wedding anniversary today :( and does somebody else experienced this also.. how did u guys managed to make it a special day.. i mean how did u celebrate it apart.. or any suggestion? am here alone in my room, enjoying a bottle of Novelino white wine :D

Happy Anniversary! I know how hard to be apart for your partner in life. We spent three years apart ourselves.

My husband and I are together now, this month we will have a double celebration for Valentines and which is also his birthday  . First we will have our own celebration at home and second We will go out eat in the restaurant together with my in laws.

Our 1st wedding anniversary is next month, March 14 wow! Time goes so quick I been here now in the US for a year!

While you are apart you need to communicate, by phone, email, cards and letters. It is hard to be apart, but the time apart will quickly fade away when your visa wait ends and you will be here. Hang in there!

  5. I've been checking my online status like a fiend today (usually I check it once and that's it) for some strange reason, and five minutes ago, I was expecting to see "Last Updated: 08/09/07", but instead, it read today's date. I clicked on my case number and it now reads "card production ordered". I am so happy, I actually started to cry.

Good luck to all of you still waiting and thanks for everything fellow May filers. :)

Wow!! That's great!! You hadn't had a touch in a long time...I just checked mine too. But since (like you) I'm so used to seeing 5/31 I didn't get a good look. I'll go back...

and then off to the gymmmm

    TGIF!!

    Amazing news Karly!! Congrats :D

I also wanted to let you guys know that I got my driver's license on Friday! I wrote the written test, then was put on a waiting list for the driving test. I waited 4 hours!! I passed with flying colours on everything, so now I have a fancy Ohio license! I used my EAD to get it though, so it's only valid for 1 year :( .

New week, new opportunities for approval...good luck this week everyone!

Hello Jashley...congrats for the success of the interview and getting your driver license...by the way, whats the question for taking the test? coz, im going to try soon.

And CONGRATULATIONS to all MAY files with recent success :thumbs:

  6. Yeah i know we should start at the bottom. So i'm just applying sales in the stores or teaching/ office assistants. I didn't even apply those which require a lot of experience/ specific qualification. In their job requirement, they just said that you need to be a high school graduate with little or no experience. But then they still didn't consider me. I also want to find a job which need my bilingual skill, but my bilingual is English/ Chinese. Here there're many Chinese professionals who have better English/ Chinese than me... sigh... I also want to find a Chinese company cuz I know it'd be easier. But there aren't any that I know here. The Chinese who work in here are all working in big companies. :(

I arrived new york city i got my work permit stamp for 120 days, glad that they give me enough time even without asking for the stamp the officer so nice to me  . Staying at home at least one month when i got my first job first experience housekeeping why not try housekeeping thinking why not i grab this i dont want to be picky, i feel homesick only i missed my family if i am at home and i feel bored id rather to work than to stay at home. I would say, first job to start my new life i have a degree of accounting but didnt get chance to take a board exam even once :( . After graduated i start working in phils. and UAE (where my fiance visa apply). From housekeeping after 3 months turn to head housekeeping (turnover for supervisor off) aside that i am earning, i didnt know that housekeeping is fun my co-workmet are nice, even is tired. I didnt know how to drive but im glad my work is close to my house walking distance 5 minutes (another reason i accept)

And now, i got my greencard and work permit in hand :dance: Its time to apply for a new job that related for my degree and my experience prior to my previous job and at the same time still working with my first job hopefully i can find soon and im excited to start my driving lesson :whistle: .

Sleepybear' just keep looking and submit resume. Hopfully you can find soon too. GOODLUCK!

For our interview support documents we had proof of my wife being on my work dental insurance and also documented her being a beneficiary of my life insurance policy. This seemed to be very important to the interviewer. Also we had mail showing either my wife, or both of us as addressees, which also seemed important to the interviewer. Since I have young kids, we also had zoo/aquarium membership cards with both our names, as well as science center membership cards.

Your list looks pretty thorough but if you have any of the stuff we listed above, add copies of that in.

By the way, the interviewer didn't keep any of our support documents (but we made copies just in case) but she did end our interview by looking through what we did bring. Best wishes! You will do great!

  9. So we had our interview today in Memphis, TN.

Its a 3.5 hr drive down there, so we left at 8 AM to get there by our appt time of 2 PM (and give us plenty of time to eat, etc.)

We got to the parking lot of the building at about 1:30 PM, and went inside and passed through security. The guards told us to go through the first door and then go into the only open door on the right. It was super easy to find. (The building is very small, much smaller than what I was expecting, but anyways....)

I went in and put our appt letter in the slot in the wall. It said something like "Put your appt letter in this slot and then wait for your name to be called." So I put it in there and we sat down.

Our appt time was scheduled for 2 PM, but at about 1:40 (after only 5 minutes or so of waiting) a rather sour-looking white-haired man that was about 55 years old or so opened the door and called my wife's name. So we went into the back with him and followed him to his office. He told us to go in but to remain standing. He then shut the door and made us raise our right hands and go through the whole "nothing-but-the-truth" bit. :)

Then the telephone on his desk rang. He excused himself and talked on the phone for a moment. He sounded like he was in kind of a hurry and said something like, "Yea I'll be there in a couple minutes. Yea, I'm almost finished here." etc etc.... Which I thought was a good sign, because if he was in a hurry then maybe he wouldnt ask too many questions and he would just approve us and let us go, which turned out to be the case. :)

Then we sat down and he introduced himself (his name was Victor Morris.) The first thing he asked for was our IDs, so we both gave him our passports. Then he asked us how we met, and we briefly explained that we met while we were both studying at the same school in Mexico. Then I guess he noticed that my wife came in on a tourist visa and he asked us our intention was to get married when she came in on that visa last October. I told him "Of course not. :) " And that was the end of that subject. :)

Then he asked my wife what our current address was and she told him, and then he asked her if it was a house and she said yes. Then he asked me if we had any photos or documentation that proved that we had an ongoing relationship, so my wife got out the 2 photo albums we brought while I looked through our paperwork. He looked at the photos from when my wife had visited the States for the past 2 years and made a few remarks about them. For example, he saw the photos from when we went to St. Louis and he asked us if we went up in the Arch and we told him yes and he said that he didnt like it because it was scary and the elevators were tiny, etc. We basically just made some small talk about the photos for 2 min or so.

Then when he was done looking at the 2 albums (he said that was "more than enough" photos :) ) I passed him the documentation he wanted, which basically only consisted of 3 things. (I'm still in college and dont have a "real job" yet so we dont own our own house or have health insurance or anything like that yet.) I gave him a bank statement from our bank that had the account thats in both of our names on it. It has her maiden name on it, but I just explained to him that our bank wouldnt let us put her married name on there until she had her driver's license, and we couldnt get the driver's license until she had her GC, etc, and he said that was fine. Then I showed him a copy of our car title thats in both of our names and the insurance for the car thats in both of our names, and he looked at all of that.

Then he said that everything was fine, and the the green card that she would receive in the mail in 1-2 weeks would only be for 2 years, and that we might have to come back in 2 years for another interview to get the 10 year one. I was like "Wait, so that means she's approved then?" And he said, "Yea." So I asked him if her name check had already went through and he said yea. I told him that was good because I had read online (here on VJ of course :) ) where some people get stuck in the name check for a long time, and he said that that does happen sometimes and people can get stuck for "years" but that that hadnt happened with my wife because her name check had already went through. :) Yay! :)

Sooooo then I asked him if we could get a stamp in her passport and he said no, but that she should have her actual GC in her hands within 2 weeks. :)

The weird thing was, I thought I had read on here before where people say that they take your I-94 and your EAD, but he only took my wife's I-94. He let us keep the EAD and told us to just throw it away or whatever when we get the GC, which I thought was strange, but I guess that dont take the EAD then? :)

So anyways, thats my story of our interview from Memphis today. I hope it helps some of you guys out. It was a looooootttt of driving for a 10 min interview. Like I said, the interview was supposed to be at 2, but we started at 1:45 and were out of there by 1:55. :)

It was a very painless process I must say. We got all worked up over nothing.

Cant wait for the GC to arrive in the mail now!!! :)

    Thx VJ!

Memphis Congratulations on GC  Happy for both of you the interview went well the officer seems friendly and nice great news, thanks for sharing your interview experienced.......i will have my interview this coming wenesday seattle 2pm from home to uscis 1 and half hour driving. Have a great weekend.

    GOODLUCK to all upcoming interview.

  10. Has anyone read of cases where USCIS worked on both the EAD and the AOS at the same time? Oddly worded I guess, but there have been no touches on our EAD since June 11th which is when they touched both our AOS and EAD and notified us of our interview for AOS. Just beginning to wonder if they are even working on our EAD application...

I was wondering the same thing during my application, turns out they were NOT working on EAD or AP. However I imagine if there is a serious holdup on your AOS, the EAD would resume.

That was sort of my sense, because they are so backed up, if they believe you will get your AOS within the 90 day time frame it makes some sense for them to not process EAD and AP to save time and work on cases who will need them.

We are very happy to have our early interview date, so not really too crushed about the EAD process apparently being on hold, but still curious.

One more huge congrats to you BuxtonBabe!

CONGRATS Arazia and also to BuxtonBabe :dancing:

  11. Hi to everyone , we received today in mail for my AOS  . My interview will be in August 1 (wenesday)excited and nervous for my upcoming interview :dancing: .

    God Bless!

No updates, just a Monday repost of our list. Our case was touched this morning, but that seems normal. Based on checking Jashley820's timeline, they were touched the same number of days right after arriving at CSC as well, so I'm not getting too excited about it.

  12. My AOS application was approved today (without interview or any RFE's)

by the California Service Center. This puts them right in accordance with

    their currect case processing time.

Good luck to all who are still stuck in the immigration waiting hell hole.

WOW....thats good you got it happy for you

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine waiting for my biometric and fingerprint  .

  13. The overused shoes

When I went to Davao for Christmas vacation in 2001, I found what I think was the best shoes I've ever had. It was a blue and white slip-ons with a flower on its strap. And I bought the shoes for 500 lang! Feeling ko pa, suwerte ako dahil last pair na iyun. And it was my size!

Sobrang natuwa ako sa kikay kong sapatos. At napakalambot niya! I wore the shoes everyday because they would match anything... denim, slacks, capri pants, skirt, dress. Gamit ko siya in the office, at the mall, in church, even at the beach!

Saka on sale.

    The shoes that got away

Black and white siya.

Lesson learned: Kung magpapaligaya sa atin ang isang bagay, seize the day!

Cute naman ng story mo nakakatuwa make me smiled habang binabasa ko nakakatouch, nakakainlove at nakakapagbigay ng idea, a lesson.

thats part of life nararanasan ng bawat isa sa atin, maganda man o pangit at dahil tayo naman ang gumagawa ng kapalaran, nasa atin ang desisyon and of course with the guidance ng nasa taas.

Pagsubok sa isang tao pag ibinigay sau kaya mong lagpasan at dapat may natutunan ka, to be improve at higit sa lahat maganda ang kalooban at yong love[ (L) ] nan jan. nasa taas hinde siya natutulog mabuting kang tao blessing come and you deserve the best.

I enjoy reading, am surprised din kasi tagalog ang sinasabi mo, inspired me  , how i missed my country

  14. EVERYTHING WENT ON GREAT TODAY, AFTER WAITING FOR 7HRS, THE CO CALLED ME AND TODAY ME

  15. My brother in law received his EAD card today and it says valid from 12/22/06-1/28/07.. for 30 days only !?!?!?. He came and got married on October but he hasn't applied for AOS yet. I thought EAD is valid for 1 year after applying. Is this some kind of a mistake when they processed his application?

hi, it seems that it depends will give AED that how long the expiration because, mine I got EAD valid from 03/06/2007 till 06/05/2007...for 90 days. hmm

Alhamdullilah, my wife's case was completed by the NVC on Oct 26th.:dancing: Does anyone know about how long it will take for the NVC to schedule her appointment in Abu Dhabi ???

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to ease my wife's concerns about waiting too long. I keep telling her she should be so so so happy that things have gone this well, alhamdullilah. But I know it's hard on her.

Any clue would be much appreciated. Trying to plan on ticket prices and time off from work.

    Thanks.
