They say the maximum time recommended to renew it is 180 days before your current one expires. We received mine September 2017 and have already sent the application in so I would suggest you begin getting ready to apply. I applied this far in advance purely because my first one took 4 months and I don’t trust that the second one will be any faster...

    Hello,

Do you or anyone on this forum know how many times you can apply for renewal of EAD & AP with a pending I-485 based on c(9)?

    Thanks in advance.

Hey guys I have a doubt...my status changed to card being produced on EAD but nothing changed about AP, does that mean that I won't get AP? Did anyone that got "Combo Cards" have been in the same situation or both status changed before card was mailed?

    Thank you in advance.

Don't worry you will receive the combo card. My AP status still says "name updated" and my EAD shows "card mailed". When i received my EAD it said on there serves as a travel document. Congrats.

So we received the written letter saying that my husband’s EAD has been approved, and we knew this last week by checking the app. But it also states that his advance parole has been approved as well, which didn’t update on the app! 😀 we are almost there guys. Now we are just waiting on an interview date, or approval for the perminat resident card

    Congrats.

He has a SS card but on it, it says that he isn't allowed to work (can't remember the wording).  So I'm trying to see if he needs a new one that doesn't say this

That's fine he doesn't need to apply for a new card. I would wait until you get the GC to go back and remove the conditions on the card. Right now it probably says can't work without authorization. If you apply for new one with EAD it will say same thing. EAD counts as a list A document. Hope this helps.

    This is from USCIS website:

    LIST A DOCUMENTS

Documents that Establish Both Identity and Employment Authorization

The documents on List A show both identity and employment authorization. Employees presenting an acceptable List A document should not be asked to present any other document. Some List A documents are in fact a combination of 2 or more documents. In these cases, the documents presented together count as one List A document.

I applied for Drivers license right after I did Biometrics with NOA1, it is Real ID. They checked on SAVE system and it was approved. Once you have a priority date adjusting status you have lawful status.

Not sure how it works for other states, but in WI they needed a physical copy of my SS card, specifically because it says on the NOA that document isn't proof of legal status or something to that effect.

When the EAD gets  approved, should my husband get a new SSN card as well?

Does he already have a SS card? If not then he should apply for a new social security card, but wait until you have the card before you do so. If i remember correctly you don't pay a fee. The EAD will serve as the List A document when he fills out his I-9, so he won't have to show that in addition to any other documents.

I would also wait to get the physical social security card (7-10days) before applying for a drivers license, trust me it helps a lot and would save you a lot of hassle especially if you are applying for the REAL ID.

I want to know this as well. We have called twice; the first time they told us to wait 30 days. After the 30 days were up, we called last Friday and they said to wait 5 days and they will send us a letter as to why it's taking so long. But nothing has changed online. It still says that the case has been received

I would suggest trying to expedite your case, same steps as before but this time when you talk to the Tier 1, ask to expedite your case. I was not working so i asked to do it based on loss of income. Then i contacted my state senator as well, they approved my EAD in a week from when i initially submitted the expedite request.

    Hope this helps, good luck!

My husband just got an email from a job injury and the Human Resource department just wants to know what his visa status is and his progress towards EAD. So we will be sending that paperwork in to HR. I think a fair amount of Human Resource departments will know what to ask about immigration and be fairly familiar with the process.
