    Hi guys ,

I have some good news to share. We were on AP for a little over two months. We got four updates since two months mark. And finally today the CEAC status says Issued. This was a very stressful journey and I am glad it is over. This forum was very helpful. I like to thank this forum and the people who runs it and everyone else who help and support each other. For those of you who are waiting due to AP. Be patient and you will hear the good news soon. I wish you guys all the best.

    hey maryam!!! congratulations!!!!!!!!!

You are lucky that they reply to your emails. the embassy where my wife's interview was conducted did never reply to my follow up emails.

the inquiry i meant is what you exactly did (to email the embassy about your case).

hope you hear something back very soon

Wow, I didn't know some embassies don't bother to follow up applicants' emails. I'm so sorry. I will post something if there's any update. Please do the same. Good luck to both of us, and all of us. We got this, guys..!

I don't understand why you were given that form since your country falls under the visa waiver program. However, It's time to submit an inquiry ..... Have you called or emailed the embassy?

    If not, do so

I don't understand either. However, I do see that we're experiencing delays at the embassy in my country. I did email them and they said while they fully understand my situation, it's still under AP. But they delivered my message to the consular officer. They also added saying that they are doing their best working on my application. Do you have any suggestion on what kind of inquiry I should make? I already told them it's been 60 days and I need them to expedite the process...

    Hey Good day guys

I a few minutes ago I gave a call to NVC number (603) 334-0888. I have applied for DS-5535 I thought these paper go to Washington DC to get it check because when I call the NVC they told me my application is in the embassy in my country, everything looks fine but I do not know it takes time. I am worried because my school been started this Monday and the school give me until 11 of September to get my visa done. but next week the US embassy in Saudi Arabia will have a holiday of Eid al Adha for a week so I don't know if it possible to get a call tomorrow.

I don't know what to believe anymore. This lady at the embassy in my home country told me a few weeks ago that my case was sent directly to Washington DC for approval. Turned out that she lied because when I spoke to another person the next day, she confirmed that my case was being handled in my home country.....Wait..so did they tell you your case looks fine and they arent sure why its taking time?

Hopefully everything clears after 60 days and you hear something soon. I got an update on my case when it reached 60 days.

Did they not say anything after you reached 60 days? How long has it been for you? The embassy told me that the investigation ends in 60 days, and they'll let you know if there's further investigation to do afterwards. It's been so difficult for all of us.....

They say to wait 60 days before contacting them when you are on AP.

Yes i know. It looks like ppl on this thread received their visa within 60 days. Do you know if they will actually do anything after 60 days? I mean i spoke to someone at the embassy and they said the investigation ends then and they decide for a further investigation if theres another hit in your application. Does that mean i'll get my visa issued if it all goes well in 60 days..?

My wife interview appointment was on 10th of July for an immigrant visa. they postponed it till 27th of July then at the end of the interview she was handed that ####### DS-5535. so it's been 48 days since her first interview date, 31 days since DS-5535

I have been emailing the embassy nonstop, and I always get the same response...I know this whole process feels extremely dreadful...I haven't seen a single update on ceac since I submitted DS-5535 on July 3rd..

yes, if you go up I wrote everything happens since August 6th. my school starts on Aug 28th. I am trying to know if anyone got the pink slip as well

I just read it. So you got DS 5535 form in addition to that pink slip? Did you receive your passport back with it? I'm not sure if my case is the same as yours since I never received any colored slip like people are talking about here. All I received was DS 5535 via email after they reviewed my documents online...I know this is distressing but let's be hopeful that ours will be approved soon as we've seen 3 people got theirs approved in the last few days.

My status changed on 8/18/17 at 1400 Pacific standard time Canada. All the best

Congrats! Have you been noticing any update (date) changes on ceac in the last 2 months you've been waiting? Mine is going to be 2 months in about 2 weeks and so far I have not seen a single update on ceac. But every time I call the embassy, they tell me that it is being processed. Thank you for your answer in advance!

    Hello!

Yesterday my status got updated but stayed administrative processing.

Today morning I got a call to submit my passport!

    so good luck guys!

Wow, congrats! How long did it take for the whole process? I'm in the same situation as you. I got DS-5535 form to fill out after attempting to renew my student visa. (I'm a continuing student in the States)

Yeah pretty much all of us are in the same shoe. I have been waiting since June 22nd no case update since. Every time I ask consulate for an update they just replied that my case is undergoing AP which is an electronic process and they can not control it . It can take days to weeks. How many days or weeks nobody knows.

Yeah, let's all stay positive since now we know at least one person with DS 5535 got his visa approved. I want to believe that they're working on our cases...

  12. I'm a student from South Korea and I initially got my visa interview waived and submitted my student visa renewal application on June 28th via dropbox. (I have been studying outside of my home country since 2001. Received all my education in the U.S. and Canada). My case was created on June 29th and was asked to fill out DS 5535 via email on July 3rd. I filled out the form and sent it back immediately and it's been undergoing AP since then. I have submitted all of valid documents including official transcript (GPA a little below 4.0), valid I-20 (through 2022) and DS 160. I'm currently on full scholarship pursuing my doctoral degree. I don't see any date updated on CEAC, but the emails I've been receiving from them says "your case has been updated, please log back into your account to view the details.", but still in AP and the date indicates the same, July 3rd. Does this still mean that it's somewhat being processed?? I hope so...? I have my apartment, my car, my jobs, literally all of my belongings in Houston. Also, it irritates me how every person I speak to provides me with false information. For instance, a lady that has been responding to my emails decided to give me a call and she said she's not supposed to call the applicants but she was calling because I seemed so desperate in my emails and wanted to let me know that my case was sent directly to the U.S. for approval and that they're actually waiting for a response from them. I waited for 2 weeks and then called the embassy again, someone else picked up the phone, informed me that my case was NEVER updated since July 3rd and that it's nonsense that my case was sent to the U.S.......hmm....first of all, I've been in contact with her since July 3rd and someone else from the visa department says that they don't see any email threads or updates for my case since July 3rd...Was she lying to me...?? I'm so confused why she did that to me.

Anyways, my school begins on August 21st..I'm already late unless some miracle happens and I hear back from them tomorrow for my passport's resubmission. It's not like I applied for visa renewal last minute. I have been waiting for almost 2 months now. If I'm unable to make it back in time, school will withdraw my SEVIS record...then what is the point of waiting for this visa...? Any continuing students experiencing this? Lastly, we're all aware of what this DS 5535 is all about...This is such a torture waiting for this without a specific timeframe. I know it says some cases take longer than 60 days, but this better resolve within 60 days...Please feel free to share your thoughts on this. Thank you for taking your time to read in advance!
