  3. Hi Guys

Just to let everyone know that I had my IR1 visa interview this morning at the US embassy in London and it went like a breeze...

I was really worked up in the hotel last night ( I stayed in the Park Lane Mews Hotel ( sunday night special £84 - which is great for Mayfair) ) but the rainy 10min walk to the embassy calmed me this morning

I waited in the queue for about 10 mins ( I was there at 9.15 for a 10.30 appointment )and then proceeded through to the waiting hall...unbelievably I was called to deliver my documents, and have my finger prints withing 15 minutes of being there. I then returned to the hall and awaited the 'interview'...well it was hardly that. While the nice lady rescanned my left hand she asked me what my husband does...and thats' it!!!!! I left gobsmacked to pay my courier charge and was out by 11am with a big smile on my face even though it was pouring down!!!...fantastic!!!!

I have my flight booked for 3 weeks time and its all systems go

I just wanted to say to anyone who is still waiting to get to this stage .... hang in there...its not as bad as we all fear and it does come eventually

  5. Hi guys...

So we are moving along nicely - I think our case seems to be going a lot quicker than most, with our 1st pack from the NVC and my question is....do they have a website where you can put in your case number and check progress, like the Service Centers...

Thanks and hope you all having a great weekend :D I'm off to see Jody next week so my weekend has all been about packing and applying some fake tan!!!!

Good luck to all who have interviews this week

  6. Hi Guys

We've been very lucky so far...both I130 (7o days) and I129f (49day) have been approved and sent off to the NVC. We haven't had our next pack back for I130 yet...(3 weeks) and I129F has just been appoved so we wouldn't hear something just yet....so here are my questions that I would appreciate your kind advice on...

    • As we now have both approved do we have to choose which one to proceed with yet?
    • Should I call NVC about the I130 application as stilll waiting for next pack?

I know I shouldn't get excited but with both approved I'm starting to get a little tingle of excitement!!!

I'm off to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 16 of my US family in 10 days time...it would be nice to have the next pack to start filling in!!!!

    Thanks for your help

  7. Hi

I'm relatively new and have found everyone here really helpful and friendly. This is a tough process to go through and most of us are in the same waiting boat. As with the rest of humanity not everyone is a 'good egg' but I feel from reading the posts and the nice things that have been said to me that the majority on here are supportive and really care if someone is having a particularly tough time...

    Just MHO.....

  8. Hi Alix

I met Jody online in 4 years ago on October 15th this year....He proposed to me 5 days after arriving in England from Dallas were he was working, for the 1st time...(1 month after 1st email)...I already knew he was my soul mate it was just a case of when he would ask....he proposed on one knee in the Rose garden at Warwick castle in England...romantic apart from the pouring rain!!.. we travellled back and forth until Feb 19th 2004 when we were married in the US Virgin Islands over looking the British Virgin Islands...my dream wedding..I was truly a lucky girl ...marrying my soulmate, wearing my dream dress, the sun shining down on all my friends and family..bliss.....and a honeymoon in a private villa with our own pool cut into the rocks...amazing. We went back to the UK together and 3 days later I was putting Jody back onto the plane to go back to Orlando. 3 weeks later he was back for a long weekend to celebrate at a big Caribbean themed party....then more tears again at the airport as I sent him back again....:(

Then torture as we are seperated again until Jody's visa comes through to come to the Uk..it was really quick though and by April 24th he is in UK to live and work HURRAH!!!!!...we had the most fantastic 15 months..just loving each other more and more each day...but I knew that Jody's career was suffering over here..he project manages skyscraper builds...not much call in the UK :( .so when he was headhunted back to the States I needed to let him go..we said 1 year..no more...however we are now at 14 months!!! at 11 months we decided that I would go live in the USA and hence all this started....I'm back visiting back and forwards again until its all sorted, but its really hard. I have good and bad days...the bad days involve bursting into tears on my own with no one for comfort...the good days...counting down to my next visit or Jody's next visit here....I go again Oct 19th...can't wait. I find it easier if I have a flight booked...its really hard otherwise as you feel in limbo.

These 4 years have been the most expensive and heart wrenching ever , but I'd do it all again to have Jody in my life, the most amazing man I've ever met....

  9. Hi Guys

Apologies for asking questions that have already been asked, but here goes..

Jody, my husband of 2 1/2 years, and I were married in USVI (St Thomas). He originally had visa to live here (UK) however we have decided to move me to USA (he has been back working in Orlando for 10 months).

We originally started our application with the I130 08/17/2006 (Texas) and have had receipt. We have also sent an I129F 2 weeks ago in the hope of getting a K3 visa quicker...

    so my questions are

    1. Have we done the right thing as from reading the polls K3's are taking longer?

    2. How long do you think it will take to get to the next stage - I was hoping that I may be looking at getting to USA early New Year - do you think this is likely?

    3. Any advice for dealing with US Embassy in London when I eventually end up there much appreciated...

Sorry if this has all been written before...I was gobsmacked how complicated this all is as when Jody came to UK we collected soem documents, sent his visa to New York and his Visa was returned within 3 weeks of application!

If you want point me in direction of other posts then that would be most welcome too....

PS thanks for the hope that the other messages have given me, I was feeling really down about all this until I found this forum :-)
