  1. We were going through the IR-1/CR-1 visa process and made it all the way through to case complete at the NVC. We had a small family issue and decided for my British husband to chance the customs and immigration officers and he came to visit back in april. His passport allowed him to stay until july 22nd. While he was here we contacted an attorney and found out that he could stay here and we could file the change of status forms here. So after a year of marriage and being half a world apart we are finally able to begin a life together. I just wanted to share this because many people on th is forum have helped us in the past and I truly appreciate it. On another note...I HIGHLY suggest hiring an attorney. :)

  2. our application is at the nvc waiting on completion YAY but kinda getting a little freaked out by the interveiw we don't do snail mail or phone calls we use msn messenger it sounds stupid but the internet webcams and mic's let us have some sort of a maraige were connected 24/7 is there anyway to get some sort of history to prove how often we connect to each other also photos we have a few but not that many togther just going to print them all off and keep my fingers crossed we have over 1500 thousand email recived and just abit more sent print of both set ? it so close everything we have dreamed of for 2 years we don't want to fall at the last hurdle so any advice about the interveiw would be nice we recon it will be about june do u think going over to england and going to the interveiw would be helpfull just any tips and a basic timeline of what we can expect next and when would be a real help thank u

  3. My husband and I are about 3-5 months from completion on the IR1/CR1 Visa and we were wondering if anyone had any problems with there spouse coming over to the united states while their visa was being processed. He is from the UK and will fly under the visa waiver program. Our plan is to maybe use the full stay allowed under the VWP while our visa is being processed so that when he flies back, it is around he time he will have his interview. Any comments will greatly be appreciated because as u probably know, the last thing we want to do is jeopardize our visa process. Thank you all for all of your help over the past months.

  5. It better for you to stay the choice of agent since the NVC will send the documents by regular mail - the chance of it getting lost going internationally is much greater. Also, by you being the choice of agent, it saves a ton of time - it will take up to 10 days for you to receive the documents from NVC as opposed to 20 days going to an international destination.

With the documents that the beneficiary (alien husband in this case) has to sign, you should prepare those documents well ahead of time, and get him to send it back to you. So when the NVC sends you the documents, you have everything ready to send out.

Trust me, don't stress out with the fact that you are the choice of agent. Be greatful. Many people who make the mistake of keeping the beneficiary as the choice of agent have had almost 2 more months added to their overall timeline because of it.

    Good luck.

well, my thing is, we have been waiting to get the forms and now I got them and was hoping to post them tomorrow, so another week or 3 is wasted. I didnt know we needed to prepare the forms ahead of time. GRRRRR soooo many hurdles to jump. Thanks for the info. :crying:

  6. I know it may get confusing but My husband and I are using the same screenname to make these posts. I am the petitioner (wife) and I have recieved the i864bill, and i have paid it. I have not heard anything since i paid it. My husband completed the choice of agent form and maade me his agent. I recieved the IV bill and paid it the same day as i paid the i-864. I did post these dates on my timeline if it is not showing sorry. But, nonetheless, after I complete our case at the NVC it is still 3-4 months????? My goodness how the time seems to grow.. We were told via the NVC when we started the NVC processes that after we had case complete it was just a couple of weeks. Its frustrating, I am sure you all know. Thanks again and please feel free to reply with any more suggestions, advice and comments.

  8. OK, I think the NVC has changed some forms...HELP. On the timeline on Visajourney I see no DS230, however the US embassy in London says when we return the DS230 we will get an interview date. I have paid the I864bill and IV bill. We have already done the choice of agent. Is the DS230 the IVpacket? Please help and thanks in advance.

Q.1 me and my husband would appreciate a list of all documents need and would be a benfit to our application we have had our I-130 approved (yay) and our application is now on it's way to the nvc so if you could tell us all documents needed or would help our application it would be a great help

Q.2 my husband is hoping to fly over in febuary for valantines day woud you reccommend this also he will be bringing a copy of all the applications and documents that he needs for his part of our visa application all documents will be orignal as we are covering our base's and doing everything twice so he can have a copy and i can have a copy

thanks for your help it is much appricated !!!

  10. Ok. So today the I-130 funds were debited from my account, so the process is - a- movin' i suppose. I plan on filing the K-3 visa as soon as we get a reciept number. He is stuck in the UK until he gets approval to come over.

My question is...IF the i-130 is approved, can he come over on that? or do we have to wait for the K-3 approval?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!! :help::innocent:

p.s. you can read a bit about our story in my profile:) Pictures will be posted soon.
