  1. We had our interview few days ago. My wife (USC) and I come from different cultures, speak different languages, she is white and I am afro-middle eastern. She is older than me and we don't share the same religion. I was kinda expecting a tough interview based on what I've read.

The IO didn't event open any of the three folders full of evidence (which kinda pisses me off since I spent a lot of time preparing those lol). He did browse through the 2 photo albums we presented.

The interview lasted for an hour, the first 10 minutes of which was related to the AOS application. The remaining was chatting about the different countries we lived in and how one can become an immigration officer (yup we talked about that). He told me I can apply to work with them in 3 years when I am a citizen! That was my signal that we were going to be approved.

30 minutes after we left the building we got the exciting "card is being produced" update.

I am glad this is over for now, hope yal hear good news soon!

How did you receive the tracking info?? Did you status change in the uscis page??... I received the approval notice on Monday and my status is still the same on the uscis page

I received the tracking notification from USPS via text and email. I think this process is automated from USCIS though because the alerts came to the email I provided on USCIS forms not the other email I use for Informed Delivery.

My status didn't change, still shows card in production.

You must be so anxious,  yours will arrive soon (USPS Priority takes 3 days to arrive to NY) just make sure your name is on the mailbox.

Thanks. It is indeed. Now I just hope the card will get here drama-free.

Have you checked your mail? It appears the cases aren't updated timely but it may have been mailed. Or call and ask tier 2 for tracking info. You can also sign up for USPS delivery to check if anything has been scheduled for delivery at your location.

This morning I received a notification from USPS Informed Delivery of 2 mail pieces coming from USCIS.

I am going to spend the afternoon by the mailbox.

    Hi everyone,

As there are a lot of pages and I don't have time to read everything... I was just wondering if anyone had received their EAD yet? Without the expedited shipping.

Also on what grounds can we have it expedited? I'm guessing if we have a job offer or something?

And... finally... how do you know if your file is at NBC or at a local office? On my notice it's written that it's at the NBC but that was in August so I'm just wondering if they would tell us themselves or if we have to look it up?

    Thanks!

I don't think anyone (who filed in Aug) received their EAD without expediting. Still too soon. I expedited and still didn't receive it yet.

Financial hardship is only one criteria to expedite EAD (a job offer is an example of supporting document). Other criteria can be found here https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria

Finally, I am not sure about that. I am guessing that if you haven't received an RFE by now, chances are your case is in the local office (unless they are planning to approve your application without interview, in which case it stays in NBC)

  5. Progress update:

After my I-485 RFE status was updated yesterday to "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received", I decided to call today to raise a 2nd service request to expedite my EAD. I told the lady that I never received a feedback for the 1st SR I submitted and to which I faxed my job offer 3 weeks ago (1st SR status shows completed). Also I told her that my starting date is after 2 days but I didn't tell her about the I-485 RFE

2 hours later I received this update on my EAD application:

    New Card Is Being Produced

On September 29, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Biometrics was August 18th. They answered me via email the following day. How long after you faxed the documents did it change? Have they mailed it yet? Did your I485 change to ready to be scheduled for interview? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Try calling to follow up or to submit a new SR.

Received a RFIE on Saturday that says the following:

    1. Submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for the most recent tax year.

The petitioner/sponsor must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year.

    2. Based on the documents submitted with Form 1-864, Affidavit of Support, for the joint sponsor, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the joint sponsor's household size.
Submit evidence of assets that meet the standards listed below or obtain a different joint sponsor.

We initially sent my wife's transcript only, we made a mistake of not sending the other forms (required because she is self-employed).

So we responded to the RFIE by submitting required forms and schedules and also included a joint sponsor as a backup.

On September 28, 2017, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

You didn't submit tax return at all? Make sure to send all forms and schedules as well (1040, 1099 and all schedules).

Would you mind sharing what was written on your RFE?

Hi. I am in a similar situation. My PD is 8/8, did walk-in biometrics on 8/25 and received a job offer on 8/31. I sent an expedition request on 9/1 and finally received letter in the mail on 9/11 to fax over all the pertinent documents/information. Today (9/15) I called USCIS since I haven't received any notification after I sent over everything. Level-2 officer couldn't really help me. He said wait for few more days and try calling back next week. I'm getting nervous because I will lose my job offer unless I receive EAD card by 9/29 :(

I received a RFIE 2 days ago. Waiting for the notice in the mail. My start date is Oct 2nd.

Did you hear back from them about your expedite request?

At this time it had not been long enough. But now it has been, what did you find out. I submitted one last Friday, 7/28 and on 7/31 I received a email and several messages on my USCIS case status. They still have not asked for any additional information. I was diagnosed with cancer a need surgery and treatment. I have to small children that need caring and bills that need to be paid. its a lot but I am so surprised we have not got a response we have delayed surgery and treatment waiting for an answer. I am so depressed at this point I just want to give up. I have thought about suicide.

I hope everything will be ok for you. Be strong my friend.

Effectively, I received a letter with a Fax number to send my documents. Then the same messages appeared (the ones from my first post), and after a couple of calls, today I received the "New card is being produced".

Congratulations. I submitted a service request to expedite I765 last week Sep 8, the following day they sent me an email asking to send the job offer. It has been showing the standard 3 updates online ever since (SR assigned, request sent and completed).

Who did you call? Did you speak to a tier 2? Did you involve your congressman?

    I guys! :) SO i got a RFE letter :(.

My BIO appt is tom I'm exited :)RFE is only for my i485 form!

It requests me to summit: I94 record which I have, the  sponsor form :/ i didnt send it i honeslty didnt know i should have send it since the begginig... can my husband be my sponsor me his tax paper work shows in come is about $19.000 is it good ? we are waiting on me to work :/

my birth certificate (again) but they want it translated to English my birth certificate is in Spanish :/ here is where my question comes do i have to send a original one again? anyone ever did this? I do have  a copy but the original i had already send it when i sent the package I can get another one but it will cost me more since they are mailing it from my county. How the translation has to be artificer by a lawyer? if anyone can help me I truly appreciate it :) and thanks in advance

FOR EVERYONE Do not get frustrated it if ur case online does not change that is  actually good!! means NO RFE :) Keep the wait!!!

USCIS currently requires minimum income of $20,300 for Affidavit of Support (for household size of 2). See https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

It seems like you will need a joint sponsor.

You should not send original documents to USCIS unless they asked you to (please note that you will need to bring it to the interview if your case requires one).

I sent a copy of my birth certificate and had it translated and certified via online service https://www.rev.com

Did you receive Request for Evidence RFE or Request for Initial Evidence RFIE?

What does your tracking say exactly?

@rali sorry if I missed some of your story. Just wondering, did you have a job offer before getting to US or once you arrived you started applying and received a job offer? another question I have is, in order to expedite your EAD you only need to call USCIS and wait their email?

I applied after I got here. Yes, you can also contact your congressman after you submit the expedite request and hope for the best.

Wow, i did not know that this is possible! I basically found a job as well already and they are willing to wait until i get my EAD but i want to start as soon as possible. how did you explain to the uscis that you should be expedited? do you have a letter by your future employer that says they need you to start until a certain date?

I don't have such a letter, I however have an official job offer with a start date. I am hoping it will be enough.

    Hi Rali,

I think we have similar situation. I just got a job offer and they asked me to start on 11/6. I just had my biometrics done on September 7. I am hesitating if I should submit expedite request this week for my EAD  - I'm not sure if I should wait after the full 75 days. When does your job start? Do you know by chance how long it will take for them to assign your request to an officer?

Please keep us updated about the progress of request. Wish you good luck!

You don't have to wait 75 days to expedite based on a job offer. I know this because my expedite SR was 17 days after filing my AOS package.

My job starts Oct 2. My request was, surprisingly, assigned to an officer the very next day.
