  1. I have heard conflicting information about when my wife can apply for naturalization. I remember reading that the three years satrted after seh got the ten year green card. Other people have told her that it starts three years after the date on the two year green card. Which one is it? I'd hate to file, have them case my check and tell me that i filed too early.

  2. Our case just got transfered to the California service center. With my local office being Boston does this mean that we will not have an interview or will it bounce from Cali to Boston? We are going to go back over to the motherland for Christmas, but have not filed for AP yet. If it doesn't get approved in a week and a half I might think of sending in the AP application to try to beat the higher new fee. Do I send the AP to CSC or to Boston?

  3. I notice in most of the post I read that people get email updates from their uscis accounts when they get rfe's and when the rfe's get recieved. I have an account and have my email status set to yes but I never got an email when I got my rfe. It doesn't say on the portfolio list that one was sent either. All it tells me is that the case is received and pending. Am I missing something everyone else is doing that I'm not?

  4. We got a RFE today for " F. (40) the sponsor or joint sponsor( if required) on Form I-864 Affidavit of Support must submit the following:

W-2s, 1099s, and/or schedules submittted to the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) --- a copy of his/her Federal income tax Return was submitted and? or the Sponsor or joint sponsor requested an extension to file his or her Fedaeral income tax return."

I never filed for an extension in my life. This year I sent in my return a month early. I sent them three years worth of w2s and last(2006) years federal return. What can they want? There is no number on the letter so I can't even call to ask them why they want something I already sent.

  5. I have a few more questions about the EAD and AOS application. Do I send them both to the same place or do they go to seperate addresses? Can I translate the birth certificate myself and fill out a statement saying I'm fluent in both langagues? I have the short version of her birth certificate. Also we are planning a trip back to her home for Christmas. Will the AOS be completed by then? Should we file for AP at the same time as the EAD and AOS or can we do that later if we see it will take longer for the AOS.

  6. Here is another way to check on it from Tim&Poonam

"You can call the Dept. of State in the US at 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0, then 0. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. They can tell you the current status of your case and if you have been scheduled an interview date."

I called them twice, both times they were very kind and helpful. You will need your embassy case number when calling

  7. All this time I have been going to my parent's house to use their long distance to call my fiancee. As I was making copies of the bills I noticed that the bill doesn't actually say their names on it. All it has is their home phone number as the account number. Do you think if I include a page from the phone book with my parents Names and address that should be enough to prove that is their account?

Somewhere on the bill it has to have their name & address, how else would the postman know where to deliver the bill/letter? Make a copy of that.

Also, did you use the internet to contact your fiance, like skype? I had 70+ pages of screenshots from all our calls, that was helpful

No internet, she doesn't have a computer. The part with their address is on the slip they send in to pay the bill.

  9. I called the State Department this morning and they told me that my fiancee's appointment has been set for Valentines Day. I think this is a pretty good sign for us. I'm so excited right now. I'm gonna start looking for plane tickets today. Does anyone know if I can make a reservation for my fiancee, in the case the visa takes more than a week or to to get to her?

  10. You could also try this approach.

"You can call the Dept. of State in the US at 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0, then 0. Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. They can tell you the current status of your case and if you have been scheduled an interview date. " This comes courtesy of Tim&Poonam. I called on Friday they told me they got the packet 3 from my fiancee and let me know I could call back to check on my status periodicaly. They were very courteous.

  11. Here is the qoute from the k1 guide and info post.

In the Reference field type CORRESPONDENCE

For the Shipment date you should select a day before and after the date NVC said they sent your file.

    Customer number leave blank

Origin Postal code should be 03801

Then Click Track (thanks to YuAndDan and to Randy)"

  12. The embassy in warsaw had recieved my petition on dec 18 and my fiancee has still not recieved her packet 3. I heard from someone that you can download the forms from packet 3, for me those are wrw1 and ds-230 part1, and fax them as long as you have a wrw case number from nvc. My question is what do i put under priority date on the wrw1 form. For the visa classification I assume that I put k1 fiancce visa, am I correct?

  13. Might be a stupid Question But our interview is in Feb 2007 for the income question On the 134 do I put what I will made in 2006 or do I put what I am expecting to make in 2007 ? thanks in advance

    Mark

no experience here but I think you put what you made for 2006 . But, in your employer letter you could ask them to put what you currently make as well as what you will amke on a certain date because of contract raises or what not

  14. The same thing happened to me when I called the automated line. I got a letter from the NVC on the 20th of december saying in a week it would be forwarded to the embassy. I called everyday, it kept telling me we have no record. So after three days I called an operator and they told me it was sent to the embassy on the 15th of december.
Did it arrived at the embassy yet?

yea it got there on the 18th of december

  15. I looked over the FAQ's and I'm a little confused on how the process goes after you get the NOA2. Somethings I've read on the state department web site say I have to fill out an application for an immigrant visa and pay 380 dollars, but I thought that the K1 was considered a non immigrant visa.It also says they need photo copies of her passport. For the choice of agent form does my fiancee fill it out with me as the agent? That guidlines on the NVC forum seem to be for I130 applications, do I follow those or is my path different? Thanks for all the help so far, I couldn't have done this myself without you guys.

  17. I sent out my K1 petition using the I129f form a little over a week ago.I checked my banking web site and got the case number so I can check on the uscis web site. When I registered and checked on my case this is what it told me.

Did they screw up or are all petitions considered I130? I have copies of the whole package so I know I didn't send the wrong one.

  18. I am pretty much ready to send out my I-129F, but I have a few questions. Do I have to send in all nine pages of the I-129f that I downloaded or do I just send in the pages with the forms on them? Will sending in emails and letters make a differnce at this stage or will my photos of us and boarding passes be enough? Also, my fiancee's name has an accent mark above the n. For the G325a and I-129f do I need to put the accent mark in or can I just leave it as is? Thanks everyone.

  19. My fiancee's polish passport expires in 2008. I will be fileing the I-129f next week and hopefully since I'm going throught Vermont, we will have our visa in 4 to 8 months. When we get married here can she apply for a USA passport? Also, we are planning on having a civil or small church ceramony here and having the big wedding over in Poland a year after we get married here. What permission do we need to get to travel to Poland for the wedding? Once again thanks for all your help.
