Waivers can take a long time, but a lot depends on the type of waiver and the beneficiary's country of origin.
So, a few questions to help you better:
- Is your husband currently in the USA or abroad?- Which country is he a citizen of?
- What is the waiver for?
- Did you get any updates since sending the waiver, anything from acknowledgement that they received it over online status updates to getting your elected rep's involved?
He was born in Veracruz, Mexico and he resides here in the USA. We submitted the I-601 Provisional Waiver. Our lawyer requested an update in July and we received on stating they are just behind. It's just taking longer than we expected and so stressful when he has had all these job opportunities and they want him but he needs legal status.

We started my husbands case in Aug 2015 and our I-130 was approved Feb 2016 and they received his waiver Dec 2016 and still no answer on whether it was approved or not. We are stressing out this is taking longer than we expected

We received our I-601A approval for our waiver 9/14/2017. So happy about this!!! it's been such a stressful time waiting for it to be approved and the time taking longer than it should. It was received 12/23/2016 and approved 9/14/2017. So now to wait for the interview appt and pray that he is approved. Does anyone know about how long they are taking to make appointments for the interviews? Thank you!
