There are a herd of people standing outside the Embassy offering services like: Selling bullpens,  Holding your cellphones, etc.

I would just let one of the vendors watch your children

I have seen a white guy with his Fil-am child running around outside the gate while his wife inside the embassy for the interview. I better have my boys staying home without hassle :P

  2. Do I need to bring my CRBA boys to the interview for their mother's IR immigrant visa? I would think the USEM won't want too many people at the interview if I include myself, my wife, stepdaughter and 2 little boys being there this coming June 27th. It will be my first time to attend. The last two times I was in the States at that time with previous relationships. I'm trying to find this information whether I need to bring my children or not. I did emailed USEM with my question but they did not reply back since for weeks. Help would be appreciated! Thanks :)

My wife and i were just married in Oton Iloilo city on may 30. She has the marriage contact and will go to the local register in oton tomorrow. I've heard about having the nso certificate expedited because we don't want to wait 6 months. How do we go about doing this.

It took me about 2-3 weeks waiting to receive PSA marriage certificate after I reported the LCR marriage contract to PSA in Baguio.

No you didn't screw up.   It is just that NVC scheduled the interview so it doesn't show in the scheduling system (flaw in their design I guess).

With the K-1 once an interview has been scheduled they can't see the calendar anymore until they cancel their current app.      There is the flaw of doing this online for the Immigrant visa.

I do understand your issue with calling.

    Hank,

I got scared and cancelled the appointment for June 7th because I did not inform NVC to expedite an earlier date to choose my own instead theirs so I decided to wait until the 27th of June the official to avoid any conflict

Ah! I already made an appointment for June 7th online and could not find the old one to cancel would be the 27th of June. I will go in person show the new appointment if it works because calling won't work for me because you know that I'm hearing impaired

It says for immigrant and K Visa immigrant to make an appointment. I hope I didn't screw it up, did I?

This is why the embassy only offers calling to reschedule with the Immigrant visa.   With the K-1, that does their own scheduling, the initial interview date has to be cancelled before being allowed to reschedule.   In your situation NVC scheduled the initial appt.

Best suggestion I have is to call the embassy Tuesday to get them to cancel the previous appt date.

Yes you can change your interview date. Just go back on the website and review the open dates. When you find a date that's open that you want then cancel the original date add select the new date. You're allowed to cancel twice without penalty.

I am able to book the new date online but how can I cancel the old one online? Thanks!

Once USEM has the case file(s) you can call to reschedule to an earlier available date.

    Earlier Appointment Scheduling
If you case file is already at USEM, you could schedule an earlier interview appointment.

"Immigrant Visa applicants who already have an interview appointment scheduled by the National Visa Center (NVC) should refrain from scheduling an earlier appointment through the Visa Information and Appointment Service Center without first checking to make sure Embassy Manila has the physical case file.
While we are happy to accommodate earlier appointments, we are only able to do so when we have already received the physical case file from the NVC. When the physical case file is either still with the NVC or in transit to Embassy Manila, we are unable to grant earlier appointment dates. This is because we need the physical case file to conduct an effective visa interview."

    Scheduling the Interview:
    By Calling (632) 976-8500, (632) 976-8501 or (632) 976-8502.
This service is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except on Philippine and U.S. holidays. Callers may speak with an English-, Tagalog-, Ilocano-, or Cebuano-speaking operator.
Applicants, agents or petitioners calling from the United States may also use this service by calling (703) 520-2235.

Would INFO PASS appointment do if I go there at USEM in person instead to request for it? I checked ceac site and it says " ready " so the case file is already there. Thanks Hank!

@Arkitekt-GS just waited paitently. They were pretty fast anyway so my patience didnt run out.  My friend isnt in a hurry too. They intend to fly on November.

    Date of Filing:  April 30

    Email approval: May 18

    Case number: May 23

    Medicals: May 25

    Interview: June 4

Wonder why yours is taking so long for Direct consular filing. Do you have like cr2 or ir2 aside from your wife?

I didnt submit a whole lot of evidence too maybe thats why they were quick on our file?

Thats really fast just more then 30 days and good luck for the interview!

Shoot I’m an idiot. I was thinking adjustment of status not affidavit of support. My bad. 😁 My understanding is the I-864 AOS and all other remaining documents gets submitted during the visa interview.

Not a big deal  Oh, thats perfect so I would need to submit during the interview, not along with I-130. Shoot I wish to submit all together at once

  12. 2 minutes ago, deafguy72 said:

Yea I meant there is no AOS fee to pay but they need to see the financial first before to approve so that is why I asked if everything to submit in the first place if thats right? Thanks :)

I-864 should happen to submit along but no fee to pay if that makes sense here? Thanks again!

  13. 3 minutes ago, Arkitekt-GS said:

If you are filing the I-130 there is no AOS. Once the I-130 is approved and you get the MNL case#, then you file DS-260 application for CR-1/IR-1 immigrant visa. Once that visa is approved and your wife enters the US they get a stamp that serves as temporary green card while the plastic green card is produced and mailed to your US address. AOS would only occur if you did a K-1 application or were already in the US on some other nonimmigrant visa status.

    P.s. Congrats @nikkiprs such a quick approval!

Have you asked for discount from USCIS for being a frequent customer?

For me when I show up at the USEM they know me by name since I have been there so many times.

Congrats on the new endeavor, Good Luck and God Speed.................

He's not the only one. It's my 3rd petition then again soon 4th via DCF. I filed K1>approved but revoked due to adultery, CR1>approved; divorced, now 3rd IR1 soon interview next month then 4th via DCF for my stepdaughter. I am embarrassed for a reason :ph34r::whistle:

Currently I live in the Philippines and will be married to a Filipina in the Philippines in August. We also plan file in August or September. Is that okay?

After your marriage to a Filipina wife, you would need to have LCR ( Local Civil Registration ) marriage certificate report to PSA to have marriage on record in their system. It will take a while so filing probably need to happen around after Sept afterwards. Good luck

AH!  Your case file is at NVC!!  Wonderful!!    Yes, do contact USCIS about starting her petition (bring copy of the NOA2 Approval Notice from USICS for your wife ), maybe get both interviews together .. now wouldn't that be cool!

Do take note that your wife's interview date can be rescheduled once the case file is at the embassy.

    Hank,

My wife got the interview dated for June 27th so now I'm trying to think hard about my stepdaughter via DCF. I just don't want the embassy to mess up with AOS because for the household of 4 ( me and 2 dual citizen boys and the only intending immigrant, spouse ) at the first place in the States not yet to approve. I'm going to file another AOS via DCF for the household of 5 ( me, my spouse, 2 boys and the only intending immigrant for stepdaughter ) and of course process I-130 the same. I know how to file everything except the time frame to avoid the problem. Again, I assume it wont hurt to go to the embassy for the advice. Isn't that correct? Thanks!

Hi there...first post here, but just two quick things. I filed March 16 for my wife and still waiting on approval. Seems like it might be luck of the draw as I think I saw some February folks mentioning approvals in just a few weeks up to a month max. Hoping it will come soon as I’m scheduled to head back to US in June too.

Also, when I spoke with the embassy a week or two ago they confirmed there is no NOA1, we’ll just get an email with the NOA2 when approved. Good luck everyone!!

    Something is not right......
