  1. In the IT world, batch files are set to run during non-peak periods to minimize the load on systems and servers. Most likely your case was worked on within the last day or two and the database was updated early this morning.

Yup, I agree with Krikit there. People on VJ have reported many times of touches at the weekend. Doesn't mean anyone is working that day, just that the computer system is updating a little later than "normal". Well, as normal as USCIS can ever be...

Thats v. strange as my last touch was Friday.

Oh well, the mystery of processing continues...

  2. I have this problem with my advance parole. When I called USCIS, they filed a service request to change the number and said it would take up to 45 days to change. I also scheduled and infopass apt to try and get this sorted out, as i don't trust the USCIS office to get it changed in time for me to travel. I would push for the change at your biometrics, but also get a service request filed with USCIS. Maybe you can get an infopass apt for the same day as you have your biometrics and kill 2 birds wth one stone?

  3. Today, after my file was sent to CSC on 10th August, i got an update that: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

Does anyone know how long (approx) it takes to get the GC once this notification is received from CSC?

The reason i ask is, I'm having terrible problems with my AP, (they have my alien number incorrect and its delaying the application despite service requests etc) and I arranged an infopass apt for Monday to help speed it up as I NEED to travel back home for a visit in November (its the only time I can go for the next 9 months ^_^ )

Should i just wait for the AOS, or go ahead with the Infopass for my AP just in case the AOS takes forever too?? Grrrr

  4. I am having a difficult time finding health insurance for my new wife. Since she has not been here for 2 years I can't get an individual policy and my policy does not recognize,as they put it, life changes. I found a company called Insurance Services of America http://www.immigrationhealth.com/ICS.htm and was wondering if anyone has used them and if they know if they are a legitimate company. Thanks

Not sure about this company, but i have only been here for 3 months and got insured by blue cross blue shield.. I am a non US citizen too..

  5. Thanks Everyone. Your comments really spurred me to try the USCIS office again. I was extremely polite on the phone and explained the mess of my case.

Well the first operator couldn't see what was going on, so escalated my call and I have to say that I was (thank God) put through to the nicest man ever.

He spend quite a while investigating, and then realised that my alien number for my AP was NOT the same as my AOS.. A typo on their part (one number different) that meant that they could not match up my AOS + AP - hence the continued RFE's..

So.. he filed a service request for me over the phone to get the Alien number corrected on the AP to match the AOS, and told me to hold fire for 30-40 days while they get everything updated. Thank god, as i would have continued to get RFE after RFE and it would have been too late to travel. So thanks again everyone! I wish i had this guy's extension number, i would certainly share it for those having problems with this process. He also informed me that despite my stauts not being updated online, that they had received my RFE and my biometics for the AOS on the 23rd, so we'll have to see what happens next.

Thanks for all the congrats, and I sympathise with everyone not getting results.. wow 2.5 years is unbelievable. I would be tearing my hair out. Shona why did you get removal proceedings ?

I'm so glad that I didn't sit and wait this out - thanks for the encouragement to get in touch (again). I guess sitting quiet doesn't work !!

  6. USCIS IS COMPLETELY SCREWING WITH ME !!

    Both for AOS and AP..

On 14th July I received an RFE for the AP for further evidence..

On 16th July I received an email thanking me for sending in the further evidence (i hadn't even got the mail yet about the one on the 14th, just the email notification - so I hadn't even sent anything back to them - go figure!!)

In the meantime, I get the RFE letter, they want to see the evidence that I'd filed for AOS - i sent that in last week.

NOW TODAY.. ANOTHER RFE email asking for additional evidence again..(i bet they haven't even entered the package I sent last week into their stupid system)

** THEY ARE DRIVING ME MAD...***

    AS FOR AOS:

The AOS case status online hasn't been updated since the 12th June (when I first applied), despite getting an RFE for W2's a couple of weeks ago , again which i sent last week.. i've also had biometrics done, and i still have a status of 'reject' until we receive additional evidence.. I HAVE SENT ALREADY!

This whole thing is absurd, and i really don't think anyone knows what they are doing down there at USCIS..and calling them for clarification is completely pointless because the operators don't know anything either..

I really don't care how long it takes to get my AOS.. but my AP.. I want to travel back to England for my sisters birthday in November, AND i have just found out i have a baby cooking in the oven, so if I can't travel in November, then I WILL BE DEVASTED as its my only chance before i get too big to travel...

Sorry for the rant, but I'm so angry and frustrated with this..I never had any trouble filing with the KI up until this point and its making me distressed now..

Has anyone else been screwed over like this and do you have any advice?? Is it worth scheduling anything with INFOPASS to try and get this mess sorted out?

  7. I got the same RFE.. I was so mad, as i sent everything they asked for the first time round.

When I called them to get further information, they asked me to send it all again, as it may have gone *missing* - this whole thing is getting on my nerves now, and the status online never seem to change either..

When i replied, i sent the original letter back (made a copy for my records) plus all of the tax returns etc i had sent the first time..

Now its just a waiting game..

  8. Now IM CONFUSED!!

I received another email this morning saying my evidence has been received - but i haven't sent anything in yet!!

Since I filed online - I'm wondering, if they've just processed the photo's i sent in after my application?!

I still hate this process - so confusing ....

  9. Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering who has received an RFE for their advanced parole application, and if so, what was it for?

I'm quite sure i filled in all of the forms correctly with the evidence required, yet i've just received this email (i guess the letter is on its way)

    ------------

On July 11, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

    --------------------

Anyone else get one of these??

    Thanks!

  11. I got married in florida on the 1st June.. If you don't live in Florida, you don't need to wait 3 days for the marriage licence, you can pick it up the same day so that there is no wait.

We went early just in case, but there were no problems. We were married on Friday on the beach, got it notarised by the court house on Monday and sent off AOS forms the same day.. Good luck to you!!

I'm sure you can get it all done in one day if you're not having the official wedding ceremony on that day..
