  1. on which base did you adjust your status? Trough marriage?

If so, you need you passport, your ticket, your greencard and your marriage certificate (in case your passport is still in your maiden name, while your greencard is in your married name)

Yes, I adjusted my status through marriage. Before that, I used to show them my H1B visa when entering the US. But My H1B expired last year so there is no valid visa on my passport. What do I need to show them when entering the US?

  2. I entered US with my H1B about 2 years ago. I filed for AOS and was approved about 1.5 year ago. I'm planning on taking a trip to Taiwan and wondering if there is anything I need to do before I go back or while I'm in Taiwan.

I used to update the H1B visa on my passport last time I returned to Taiwan. Now that my status has been changed to conditional green card, do I need to apply for reentry permit? or should I change a sticker on my passport in Taiwan? Please advise. Thanks.

  3. The panel physician who did your medical should have given you a copy of the DS3025,

which is the vaccination worksheet. You take it to a civil surgeon here who transfers

it to a I693A that is the supplemental you need for the AOS.

If the civil surgeon did not give you any additional vaccs than you should be set and

everything should be in the sealed envelope.

I do not know about the translation issue.

See the * unless previously submitted * part......so if it was submitted then you don't need to send it again.

Double check with the civil surgeon if in doubt.

I'm adjusting my status from H1B. I was never asked to provide vaccinaion information. I did my physical exam at a hospital and gave the report to the civic surgeon. He saw the report and gave me a HIV test and gave me back a sealed envelope. That was it. He didn't ask me any question in regard to my vaccine. Does that mean I have to the vaccination worksheet again?

  4. I received an interview notice, which has a list of items that are required to bring to the interview. One of them is A completed medical examination (I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted).

I already submitted my I-693 in a sealed envelope when I sent in my I-485 application. However, I do not believe the civic surgeon submit my vaccination records. So, how do I prepare my vaccination supplement? Is there a form to fill out? My immunization record is not in English. Can I just translate it into English and have it notarized? or does it required a civic surgeon's signature as well?

If the civil surgeon gave you a sealed envelope, then it's all there - your HIV/TB test results and your vaccination history. You're all set.

Did the civil surgeon give you a copy of the medical? Your vaccinations are on the second page of the form.

    :)

He didn't give me a copy because he charged additional $50 for a copy. Anyway, I don't think he provided any vaccination history because he even didn't ask me what types of vacine I've got. So.....what should I do now?

  6. We were asked to show our wedding album and some letters and utility bills addressed to both of us at our home address. Also make sure that the birth and marriage certificates are certified copies rather than photocopies (unless you already sent them certified copies with the original petition).

What's the certified copy of marriage certificate? Can I bring my original marriage certificate issued by city hall and a photocopy of it?

  7. My AOS interview is scheduled at the end of next month. My husband and I are putting together all the evidence now. We didn't have wedding or reception because we want to save the money for house. We just went to city hall to register. Does anyone have the situations like us? not having any wedding photos. We do have a lot of other pictures since we met four years ago. Is the interviewer going to question our marriage? :help:

  8. I just got a notice for the interview next month. It's in Manhattan. I just submitted my application in October and I don't have that much evidence to show them. My husband and I have been living together for 2 years but we don't have anything that show both of our names together. We just opened a joint bank account a month ago, is that enough? Most utilities bills or phone bills are either under his name or my name, never together.

As for the photos, do they require wedding photos or regular photos? Are they going to keep the photos or they'll return to us?

What interview questions do they normally ask? :help: Please give me some tips. THANKS.

For the photos, what kind of photos did you show them, the wedding photos or the regular photos? Are they going to keep the photos or they'll return to us?

I'm anxious about this interview. Any suggestions? What questions did they ask?

  10. You might get more replies if your profile had more information on it. It helps understand your situation more if you fill in the blanks like, (Immigration Status), (Location), (Local Office), (Country Non-US spouse from)...

For your question look at the processing tome for I-485 for your (Local office). I would have given you a link to it but your profile is a complete blank.

My current immigration status is H1B and I am filing for I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-131. I am from Taiwan and my husband is s US Citizen. I live in New York. Is each of application being sent to a different office? Which office should I check for the status? Thank you. :help:

  11. I submitted my application package last week (I-485, I-130, I-765, and I-131). I checked my bank account earlier and found out that they just cashed my checks. There are several numbers on the back of the check. However, there are no numbers that start with EAC or LIN. There are only numbers. Can anyone tell me how I can check the status of my case? Do I have to wait until I receive the notice? Thanks.

  12. I sent in my application package (I-485-, I- 130, I-765, I-131...) to Chicago last week. According to the return receipt I just got today, USCIS received my package last Thursday. I'm a bit anxious. Can someone tell me when I will be able to receive the receipt? I checked my bank account, they haven't cashed the checks yet. How long does it take for them to open my package and start processing it? Thanks.

  13. My birth certificate is not in English. I tried to translate it into English myslef. Do I need to translate everything on the birth certificate? What information is required? Also, my birth certificate doesn't have my name on it because in my country pepople usually name the baby after he/she is born. So, what should I do about it? Can I send in other documents that show my date of birth and birth place, such as the passport?

  14. Also, my birth certificate does not have my name on it, is it ok? Thanks.

Mew is right. It will probably be a problem that your name doesn't appear on your birth certificate. I believe, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, that on the instructions for the I-130 there is a list of other documents you can provide if you are unable to provide a birth certificate. Baptismal certificate comes to mind although I know there are a couple of other options.

    :time:

In my country, we name the baby after he/she is born. That's why normally there isn't a name on the birth certificate. Can I use the Identity Page on my passport instead? It has my date of birth as well as the birth place.

  15. My husband is filling out the I-864 Affadavit of Support http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864.pdf. Does this one need to be notarized? We looked through the instruction but didn't find anything saying about the notary. However, the older version from the I-485 package http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864.pdf did mention that the signature of the affidavit needs to be notarized.

I'm confused so please tell me whether or not we need to get it notarized. Thanks.
