  1. Hi AustinnPawers,

I was wondering if they ever gave you a specific reason for your refusal, or if they asked for anything else for you to bring to the consulate? I wish you good luck and I hope you will get another interview soon.

By the way the consulate wrote back to us today. They said they have no idea how long the processing will take, and if we need to get my husband's passport to let them know. At least they wrote back. I think I'll take your advice and not bother them with too many emails, since it seems like they really don't have a clue. Maybe I'll call DOS soon and see if they have anything to say.

My husband and I are considering taking some time off our jobs and going to live together in Egypt, if they really take a long time. At least they say he can get his passport back to do that. Hopefully it won't come to that, but we are starting to accept more each day that this could take many months. Oh well, we'll see...

    KEKhan

No they never give you the reason, we need to find the reason by our selves through UCS, I took everything all the emails, photos, telephone bills everything what I had to justify our relationship but they really dont give a F**** they take every case as a fraud case and screw ppl...anyways once we will get the reason we will proceed and will update you folks as well.

  2. So how long has it been since your 2nd interview? and what was the interview all about?

Also what visa are you seeking to get? CR1, K1, K3

Dude, I was refused in Feb 2008 you can estimate how much time has passed, my case is CR1, my wife has contaced the senetor and provided our case number and other information they asked so hope for the best, by the way we are proceeding our case through a lawyer now.

    Goodluck to all of you..

  3. Folks please be patient AR takes time and in normal cases it takes some where 3-6 months so relax, do not hammer them by sending mail every week, by sending mail every week can cuase delay so my recomandation is 1 mail in one month.

Dont worry once they will make ur passport ready with visa they will contact you by the given information.

so relax and Inshalla ALLAH WILL HELP US.....

    PEACEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  4. Hi AustinnPawers,

I hope you don't mind a question- I was wondering if you had applied for the marriage permit, and was it before or after you applied for your immigration visa?

Some websites seem to say that getting the marriage permit can be very difficult. I was wondering how your experience was. We certainly don't want to make things any more complicated (as we have already been married for almost a year, and hopefully getting our visa soon). But it would be nice to know if we could actually get the permit and family visa.

Thanks again for your input. I hope things will look up for your visa soon,

    KEKhan

I dont mind any question, you are always welcome.

No, I never applied for the marriage permit before my case refusal, now after getting the refusal I applied for the marriage permit or VISA for wife and in just 24 hours of I got the visa approval and I have sent that document to my wife in States and soon she is travelling for Saudi Arabia.

Dear If you are earning good and working in a good organization in Saudi Arabia then honestly it is not at all a big issue.

May Allah help you to get your case done successfully.

    Allah Hafiz

  5. What I find really difficult about our situation is that Saudi Arabia doesn't allow visitor visas. Apparently for some reason I can't even get a family visa bec. of the fact that my husband never got the Saudi marriage permit before our wedding (he couldn't even do that for some reason, I think he said bec. he was not yet 30 years old?) Anyways the whole system over there is really confusing to me, and it seems like one of the hardest situations, as I can't even visit him while we are waiting.

Now the problem is that they took his passport, so he can't even come to see me, or travel elsewhere. We don't want to mess up the possiblity that they could issue the visa soon, by asking for his passport back right now. We are really stuck, except for if I visit him in some Gulf countries where apparently he doesn't need a visa to travel.

Sorry to keep complaining, but I was just wondering others' thoughts on this situation and if anyone has a similar problem. It seems like visiting is so difficult, and it's such a long wait for the whole visa process to not be able to visit once in a while. Well I hope everyone will hear some good news soon about their visa. Thanks,

    KEKhan

It is really impossible to believe that your husband is not getting the family visa, If your husband is doing a good job or atleast earning 7,000 Sar then there is no question that he is not getting the permit or family visa, in Saudi Arabia age is not at all a show stopper to get the marriage visa.

Dear what ever you told me about the Saudi Law is not acceptable

Good luck to you in ur process.

    Take care

    Allah Hafiz

  6. Hi,

I am a US citizen, and my Saudi husband is trying to get his conditional residence. He had his final visa interview appt. on Feb. 12 at the Riyadh consulate. During that time they did not tell him if he was approved or not, and just took his passport for "administrative review" of our case. They told him that once they are done, he can pick it up or have it Fedexed to him (he lives in Jeddah).

They have not finished with the visa yet. We emailed them 2 weeks after his interview (bec. we don't know why they should take his passport for an unknown amt. of time w/o letting him know why). They emailed back and said to give it 2-3 more weeks and try to email them again if we don't hear anything. This is discouraging that it might take as long as 7 months. Does anyone else have any other similar experience or advice?

    thank you,

    KEKhan

Dear I got the call in February and am refused by the us consulate, for me its very much upsetting situation right now, it will take 3-6 months officially to get another call, so relax and stay cool, wish you luck in your process, they kept my passport and again when I got a call I thought they will give me a visa but they interviewed me hard again for almost 30 minutes ...but hope your case will be fine.

  7. There is no point in refiling for the K-3 you still have the CR1, and right now they have a fraud marker against you. They will not issue a visa until this is resolved. This interview was for the CR1, correct? It sounds to me like you had no evidence of a real relationship. You didn't save any history? Why would they believe you? You need to place yourself in their shoes. If you had a case that you had to decide on, and the couple can't even prove they talk to each other often, would you believe them? This is the reason they asked you questions that you could not answer. They just plain don't believe you. You must understand, the consulate isn't trying to prove that your relationship is real, they are trying to prove that it isn't real. You must keep that in mind, and make sure you are prepared to show it is real.

Your not totally lost, but you had better get busy and start saving your history NOW! This will go back to the USCIS and they will send you (after several months) a Notice of Intent to Revoke. Your wife will need to respond. At that point she had better have tons of evidence of a valid relationship or they will revoke the petition. Just plan on another year or more, it isn't quick or easy.

Thankx alot morocco for the reply, I have provided every single thing I had, EMAILS, PHONE BILLS, PHOTOS, MSN CHAT, now I dont have anything else to prove...I dont know what else they want to know.

Anayway...you are right that there is no need to start another K3, I will wait and will see where this will endup....

    Thankx alot....

  8. Good luck to all of you, who are in process and who are waiting, US embassy refused to give me VISA and very much upset here.

you can read the story here if you want to...

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=1584568

If any body has faced this issue before or any kind of experience or any suggestions, then please let me know...

    Wish you best of luck.

  9. Folks Count me as well, my vote is with you

Hi folks, last week they again called me for the interview and after interogating me almost 30 minutes they refused my case and said that they are going to send my case back to USCIS and also got all my submitted evidence and documents back along with the same horrible blue sheet 221(g) mentioned reason "Recomandation revokation" something like this.

They asked me again lots of personal questions yes no doubt few of them I missed but I answered most of questions.

Anyway can anybody guide me what to do next, can my wife file a new case or it is over...? what to do ....

I dont know what type of evidence they require, she said, all the emails you provided to us is one sent by your wife to you, there is not email evidence you sent to her when I said that we never send to many mails to each other and specially I never keep the history in my mail box and when ever I need to talk to her I dont send her mail, I always a phone call and have some chat, I gave them my telephone bills. I gave them what ever I had to prove that our relationship is real.

She asked me my wife's previous husbands COMPLETE NAMES their date of births and how long she married with them( I mean these types of questions are really really beyond the case, why should one will know his/her privious life may be he/she is not interested what ever has happenend before)

anyway the above questions were just few of those horrible quesitons I have been asked.

I mean I am in a big mess, upset as well dont know what to do...

One of friend suggested me to apply for K3 again any other suggestions please welcome....

    GOOD LUCK TO YOu...

  11. Hello,

I'm from Riyadh, its been more than 7 months since we are waiting for administrative processing to be done... we had the final visa interview on 30 May, 2007 since then we are just waiting and waiting...

dont know how long will it take :(

    Regards

Dont worry Tariq inshalla it will be soon over just be patient, keep in touch with US Embassy in RIYADH by E-MAIL, coz visiting US Embassy will be a time consuming step...

  12. Hello Everyone...

I was wondering how many people in this Forum had the opportunity to have the case put on Administrative Processing. Also, how long did it take for you to receive a letter/ phone call from the Embassy to send your passport? Were you asked to come in person or did you just have to mail your passport? If you are still on Administrative Processing, how long has it been?

Our case was put on AP in September and it has been about 2 and half months and we are still waiting patiently.

    Please advise... Thanks

    AFZubairi

Hi, my case is in AP and my interview was in septemeber but due to lack of required documents they asked me to provide the evidence of relationship, Liquid asset and orignal divorce decree and also told me at the day of interview that I dont need to come in person to submit these documents if I dont want to, I can send these documents along with my passport by mail. But i went to the embassy right after 7 days along with all the required documents and passport and submitted everything by hand to the immigration officer and then they gave me a blue card "Token" to collect my passport, there is some number mentioned on it.

So this is my story, yes Its more than 2 months since appeared in the interview.

Praying to Allah to finish the procedure successfully and asap.

Good luck to you dude inshalla everything will be fine...

    Allah Hafiz

  13. hello everyone,

reccently I emailed the ISB embassy inquiring about my husband's visa status because they told my husband to contact them 4wks after the his interview date which was august 28, 2007.

well this is all I got frm them today:

    ""Dear Sir/Madam,

A consular officer has reviewed your immigrant visa application and has determined that additional administrative processing is required before we can complete your case. The time that this processing takes will vary on a case-by-case basis. Once we have completed this administrative processing, we will continue with your visa application. If your case is otherwise complete, and you have opted to have your passport, visa and documents returned by courier, the courier service will contact you to arrange for delivery. If you have opted to keep your passport, we will contact you to let you know when to come to the Embassy to drop it off, and will then return your visa by courier.

\I hope this information will be helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you required any further inquiry.

    Thanks & best regards""

So now the wait continues. does anyone know what exactly is AP all about?

    thanks

AP from Islamabad is the security checks, a background check, if married to rule that it is legitimate, if you stated you were not married to rule out that you are not hiding a marriage from the USC, security checks that involve your education or job (science, etc), and an overall check on the validity of your information that was submitted for your visa such as name, family, travel history, and the new check to rule out that you did not give any funds from you or your family to help terrorists. There is no way to determine how long it will take and the response is what most persons get when first asking for a status update from the consulate. Good luck on your AP finalizing soon.

This information is from the FAM:

  14. I am curious to know when your interview was, where was it, and did they take your passport at that time.

Dear my interview was 15-sep-07 in Riyadh [saudi Arabia] and at the day of interview they told me that my wife's financial support is not enough i need to find a CO-Sponsor or I should show them the liquid Asset worth 22,000 $, they also wanted my wif's orignal divorce decress and Proof of relationship. They told me that I dont need to come in person to embassy to submit these documents I can submit all these documents by mail along with my passport, so I again appeared in the embassy after a week and submitted all those required documents

    Orignal Divorce Decrees

    Proof of Relationship

Proof of Liquid Asset showing 30,000$ (Bank Statement)

I submitted all those documents along my passport and now 1 month is over since I submitted passport....I dont know how much time it will take more to get this process done...

  15. Here 's a bit of background .

I am franco-british born in the Island of Mayotte , I hold three passports (2 british for professional reasons) and 1 french + 1 french ID card - I.T consultant working through my own company(generating + 60 k /year in revenue) specialised in the data storage/backup ,I worked for the HM Inland Revenue (gone through security clearance like a breeze) and supported US customers (US army/university/companies) in the use of a backup software.

My wife is a chinese citizen born in Dandong with leave to remain in the UK. Well what I can I say about her : strong character and will not stand for any wrong.

Nov 2005 I applied for DV lottery I found it fun to participate to something free and you could actually win big. Oh boy ! how much I was wrong

March 2006 I married my wife

July 2006 I have been informed by KCC I can apply for DV visa

    * It took me one month to get the form correctly filled out :

    - Do not leave any blank instead write " not applicable "

    - The forms can be emailed back or sent via fax to speed up the processing

Dec 2006 visa number became current

10/01/2007 interview at the US embassy .

Interrogate my wife for 45 minutes and myself for 10 minutes and bang 221g requiring more evidence of relationship with questions close to being classified as racist such as " why you married a chinese ?" I would expect this kind of question from Nazi germany not from an employee of the US government

    * Be prepared for the interview ,bring updated pictures/phone bills/email exchanges and proof you actually leave together - if you are a contractor working aborad you are in for a tough luck

    * under no circumstances ask for your passport back (it will further delay the application

    * for those who follow up the time line our relationship needed to be demonstrated despite being married well before being informed about the DV win - where the logic ? Only those clever guy at DOS would be able to answer ? Basically you are guilty until proven innocent such an un american concept well we are just bloody foreigners so we do not count for much :)

10/08/07 after chasing them for 7 months for an update they finally decided to " invite " me for a follow up interview ( we previously discussed with my wife I will go alone in the US while she takes care of our business - property management ) so the application will be for a single person without follow up or derivatives . Interview went well - the CO could not find any reasons to deny me the visa , told me to pay my delivery fee and wait for the visa

15/09 started filing mandamus action (kind of late ) but filing for the principle , it costs me 350 $ but the DOS will share the cost and maybe maybe it will realise there is room for improvement on the way visa are processed. Security is a legitimate concern but why the security checks was not done since January 2007 (for those who still following up the story)

25/9 application still under additional administrative processing or the other euphemism used " clearance required from the department of state "

My advise to all visa applicants , if you know you do not have anything to hide under your bed go for it and fight for your rights (thanks fatbrit I understood a bit late) and be proactive :

    * sue under mandamus action after one month if the embassy has received all the requested information (221 g) - email me and I will provide details/assistance on how to file a civil action against the dos (court DC columbia + defendants + 350 $ + complaint + cover sheet + summons (5) )

    * request from DOS information held about you under the freedom of information act

    * request from the FBI information held about you under the feedom of information act ( a full set of finger prints will be required )

Notes : You do not need an attorney to file a civil action and most attorney will charge you for just having a chat (fact finding) but it is advisable to hire one to actually get the job done right straight away (filing pretty gruesome process)

In conclusion based on my experience the main mistake I did was to trust the Embassy will be dealing with my application in a timely manner , I should have sue a lot earlier.

On the bright side I just realised I have sufficient point to get a working visa to Australia.

Thankx for sharing the info maore, well I appeared in my interview 2 weeks back and that day they gave me bit tough time in interogation and that day I couldt provide them proof of relationship, the CO gave me blue paper asking me to provide the proof of relationship, Liquid asset(coz my wife is not earning enough or find a co-sponsor) and orignal divorce decree, she told me to provide these documents i dont need to come in person to embassy, I can send all these documents along my passport by mail, but last week I went to the embassy and appeared in person(I went to embassy coz I dont want them think me as a LAY MAN) and submitted my all the requested documents along with my passport and they handed over me a serialized collect passport token they said that your case will be reviewed and we will inform you when to get your passport. The guy did not inform me about the status of my visa either it is approved or not ?

SO I am expecting a call within 1-10 days hopefully positive answer

once again dude, wish you good luck in your efforts....

  16. Austinn Pawers nice to see you in the forum and good luck on this being the last of your AP. As far a a purple thing is is half size and does it have numbers on it?
