  1. I really appreciate all of the help I’ve gotten on visa journey from my brother’s and I medical up to my questions about GED now I am looking for some answers.

When we arrived in Texas last December 16, we were told at the POE that Green card will arrive 3-4 months and then a few days after we went to the nearest SSA to apply for our SSN and it turns out that we didn’t have to apply since we’ve already been applied for when we entered the POE last Dec 16 now I’m asking: I am 19, turning 20 in October and I honestly don’t understand how this process will go for me, my brother was 17 when he entered the US and does that mean he is eligible to automatically be a US Citizen? How does that leave me and what steps do we need to do for me tk get Citizenship? Like paperwork we need to file or fees. Does this mean I wouldn’t be able to go to school or get a job after my I-551 expires?

Really looking forward for answers, thank you!

No you don't need a GED

Why would you even consider doing that if you have a diploma from PI

THANK you! We just really didn’t know what to do so i asked

You do not need the GED as this is for someone who never completed high school and you have

Thank you! I’m going to call the community college and ask them about requirements.

    1.  What is your current status in the US?

    2.  What are your career goals?

I am currently waiting on my greencard. Which will be mailed 3-4 months from now

I’m not sure but I want to take up nursing.

  5. Hi! I really need help.

I’m currently in Dallas and we don’t know what to do. I’m 19, I finished high school in the Philippines last 2015 and a semester of College at FEU.

Now we don’t know what to do.

Should I just take a GED even if I have my high school diploma?

Hope someone could help us shed light on this matter.

Zero issue tearing the plastic.  Only the envelope stamped DO NOT OPEN is to be protected, and for sure NOT opened.  Plastic .. no one cares.   And do not remove the Immigrant Data Sheet from the envelope either.

Thank you so much hank! I now have my cfo sticker and am good to go! Now i have to wait for my bro. His visa was delivered to Albay a while ago and we’re currently staying in laguna so they’ll have to send it via express at LBC tomorrow. I’m kinda worried because there’s a typhoon here. Do you think it’ll get stranded? Is it safe?

  7. Okay so I have a problem.

I got my visa last July 27.

What I understand is I could open the plastic where the visa packet is to retrieve my passport.

I ripped the platic open. It’s not neatly opened. So now I’m worrying if this will be a problem. My visa packet still looks the same, with a bit of crease on its sides. It’s always in the plastic even if the plastic isn’t that neatly opened lol. Now I’m at cfo and I’m worrying that they’d try to find the plastic of my visa, I didn’t bring it becaUse I didn’t think it’s needed... I’m so worried....

  8. My brother had his interview last October 24 and everything went well except he didn’t get approved nor was he denied.

The consul said everything looked good but he is lacking one document and since he’s 17, she said this is worth holding his visa for because it will be a big help for him when he flies to the US.

He was given the 221(g) sheet because we were missing a form (I-864W) I was about to print it the night before but it didn't say it’s needed (He’s 17!!) ugh my fault. When we wede at the releasing counter the filipina staff told us that he just needs to print the form and sign it and drop it off at 2go then she reminded us that we register our delivery address so they could deliver the visa and passport.

i sent the form right after his interview via 2Go.

Now I’m growing weary. I know it has just been a couple of days but I’ve read a couple of posts on here saying they were help up for almost a month or two and to be honest we’ve waited long enough (Sputum test and all) so i just want to ask others who’ve experienced this? how long did it take? Does the type of document that they’ll ask affects the waiting time?

That is cool that you were allowed in.  :)

Once the embassy receives the document from 2G0 it can still be a couple weeks before the visa is issued.  You can track progress on the CEAC website.

Thank you so much! I sent the document already. I know it’ll take about a week or two but i really hope it’s less than that so we can move forward to peer counseling

Sorry  read your post an hour late for the interview.  Hope all went well.   I do know for guardians an affidavit of guardianship is required, but for a sibling to just tag along... you might not be allowed inside the embassy.   Do come back and update us to how things went for you.

**Guardian Accompanying Minor to Interview:  You will need an affidavit of guardianship in the guardian's name stating what capacity they have.  Signed and notarized.

Thank you so much! It went well. USEM didn’t ask who i was when we were lining up, but we were asked during the pre screening and interview.

His visa is on hold because we are missing a form: I-864W

Do you guys have any idea how long that would take?

The consul told us that he is approved but is put on hold since we are missing this form. Anyway, we already filled it up as per instruction at the releasing counter, we can download the form, fill it up our own (no need for our petitioner to send it to us from the US) and drop it off the nearest 2go branch.

  11. Hi! I was just wondering if I would be allowed to accompany my brother for his visa interview at USEM tomorrow. He's 17. Do we need still need an SPA? Or an affidavit of consent? I read somewhere that minors could go to the embassy alone and they can also be accompanied if they wished to. I am his biological sister and I already have my us visa, he got delayed because he underwent sputum exam/

Please do reply! His interview is at 8:45 AM

  12. MY BROTHER’S SPUTUM CULTURE IS NEGATIVE AND REPEAT XRAY TURNED OUT CLEAR!!! After 2 whole months of praying, God is really good!!!

Now off to another dillema; as i am typing this right now we are at St. Luke’s, waiting for his vaccination, we weren’t given a time as to when he will be called but I am assuming it will be late since they said they still have to type his file and edit.

Now how do we schedule for his interview? Can we still get a schedule after a week or two? Because we have waited long enough for hus sputum culture and we cannot wait any longer. Please do help because SLEC says they won’t help us reschedule and we’re scared that that the October calendar might be full already.

We’ve been waiting for this for about 10 years and we’ve faced a ton of hurdles and I am so glad we’re done with worrying that he’ll be positive with tuberculosis. Now we just have to wait for him to get his vaccinations. I hope you guys can help us. Thank you very much!

Highly unlikely you would end up with a December interview date.   Don't judge interview openings by the interview date you got from NVC .. not the same.

When will SPUTUM be complete (60 days)?      You could very likely have an interview date from 2 - 4 weeks after that (with 2 weeks, or less, being more of a reality).   Other people cancel and early date do show up also.

The result will be out by Octover 16. Sorry it should be 60, just a typo, was a but confused. Thanks for this, didn't know it's possible to have our interview scheduled a week or two after his results

You should wait till he is cleared at SLEC. Once cleared book is interview appointment.  You can get a date a few weeks after and your still on track.  I think you are dragging this out and you will end up on the short end of the stick. Sorry. Just my opinion.

Alright. Just afraid that we might get a later schedule. Didn't know we can schedule a week/2weeks after he's been cleared. Thanks!!

Why would you wait 90 days?

That's just a typo. It should be 60 days or two months, sorry for that.  If you want to schedule your visa interview and you call by septe, your date will be by November

  15. 3 hours ago, notantifun said:

Don't reschedule the interview so early on. There are lots of applicants who cancel and reschedule each day thus resulting in new open slots.

I too was flagged for sputum and I only rescheduled after confirming with SLEC that I'm on the clear.

You can only reschedule 2x and you pay a new fee if you exceed this. So be very careful.

This is our first time rescheduling. We cancelled his appointment for July 2017 due to the sputum test. Mom wants us to schedule as soon as possible bec if we wait until the results on october, his interview will be scheduled by December, so we'd wait another two months for that. His results for the culture will be out by October 16 and we're all rooting for him to be clear so our Mom wants his interview to be scheduled now so that we wouldn't wait another 90 days.

  16. 2 minutes ago, Hank_ said:

Nope October isn't full....   the October appointment calendar isn't available yet (they should have told you this on the phone), probably won't become available until the middle of September.

Okay so if we call by September we can get the october schedule? I thought if we call by then we'll get the November schedule already.

  17. Good day! My brother's sputum test was negative but he had pneumonia so he was prescribed antibiotics, we still have to wait 2 months for the culture result but my mom wanted us to schedule his interview now (August 2017) so he can get a slot by the last week of October, bec if we wait for the culture, he will be scheduled by December so we took initiative and we're hoping for the best that he's negative.

Now our problem is, we've been calling the embassy for 3 days and they're saying that they don't have available dates yet but that doesn't mean the whole month of october is already full, they just don't have the schedule. I just don't get it. What does it mean? Also they said that they're not sure when they will have the schedules. This is one of our dilemmas bec we really want him to be scheduled by October. What can we do? Did anyone ever experienced this?

  18. Hello! Been trying to call this number  (02) 902 8930 for about 20 times now and it's not ringing, line is always busy no matter what time or date so i was hoping you guys could help me? Through phone is our only way to reschedule. We need to be scheduled by October so i wanted to know what time will it be best to call and what ofher numbers do they hve? I tried calling the one with "5555" in the end but ut turns out that i got the wrong number bec they said they're a Chinese school, the number was posted on the website so i was kinda confused. Hope you guys could help me. Thanks in advanced

  19. I've been feeling really anxious about my brother's state. Last July 11, our medical went smoothly even though my brother had a cough that day. next day was difficult when we found out that he needed to undergo Sputum test on August 8, 9 and 10 + Pulmonary Evaluation on the 11th.

when i told my mom about the bad news she said that my brother had Primary Complex when he was a kid and he was treated for it.

Now we're all worrying, we separated his untensils and had him wear mask at home but after a few days he refuses to wear mask and now I'm just really worried that he might be positive and we might've gotten it too.

I've been praying really hard, every night and I just recently had my Visa approved (July 26) so now I'm really hoping that my brother will be negative for his sputum test and his culture.

I just have a few questions, can i accompany him on his test? He's 17 and I'm 18. My uncle can't make it since he will be missing 4 days of work if ever. I tried calling SLEC for answers but they're taking forever to pick up.

really hoping that he's negative. he doesn't show any symptoms of tb, he told me his cough started last July 5 and we got him meds when he arrived in manila, he said that the bus to manila was really cold so it might've triggered his cough more. He isn't coughing right now since he's been taking meds for it.. but of course we can never really be sure.. Right now I'm just really clinging on my faith to God and hoping that everything turns out fine. We just want to be with our mom and we already waited for so long...
