Could you please help me, how do we contact congressman?where did you find contacts? Our case has been approved 12/4 and still no update.

I would try going to your Senator's website to find the contact number for their state offices (not d.c.). Give them a call and ask if there is a person who helps with passport and visa issues or something along those lines.  There should be a case worker in their offices who does this. Explain your situation, and if they don't offer to call for you initially, just ask if they can look further into it.  They have a different contact at USCIS than we do and get information faster and it seems more accurate ...or so was my experience. Hope that's helpful! Good luck.

So now NVC is going to take forever...WTH is going on in this country right now? Delays at every turn and they wonder why people are getting upset. total Bwisit!!

I was just wondering if you had been in contact with your congressional representative? Our case was stuck between USCIS (NOA2-10/30) and NVC for 6 weeks. Our congressional representative reached out, and it was explained that our case had essentially been put in the wrong pile.  As a result of the call, USCIS corrected their mistake, explained that we should expect it to take an additional 6-8 weeks due to backups, and that it would reach NVC by Dec 31st. Luckily, that wasn't the case, and it got sent out almost immediately, and was moved on to the embassy within the next week. I believe the speed at which it started moving was a direct result of our reps call. If you haven't yet reached out to your congressional rep, or if anyone else reading this is stuck at some stage and hasn't called their rep yet, I strongly suggest doing so. It really seems to help! I'm sure at this point, you've done everything in your powers to help move it along. I just wanted to offer our case as an example, as every little bit of information can be useful in this process.  Good luck and I hope it moves soon!

  3. Hi Everyone,

Congrats to all of you who are already in the country and working towards your AOS, EADs, and all that good stuff. We are still stuck between the NOA2 (Oct 30th) and NVC. I've been calling the NVC twice a week for the past month. This morning, the lady at NVC had me read the first line of my NOA2 which states "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded on to the listed consulate." She explained, that USCIS has forwarded it on to the consulate in Austria and NVC would not be receiving it. Has anyone encountered this? It seems odd to me, as I've not ever read about this happening to anyone else. We are going to call both the consulate and USCIS to try and get some answers, but I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone had seen this before, and to see if others had the same language on their NOA2s.

    Thanks for your help!!!

  4. Hi Everyone. So, we are still at the USCIS stage. On October 4th we were notified of our RFE, received the letter on October 11th and returned it the same day. It was received and signed for on October 12th at CSC, and on October 16th, we received an email saying our "response to USCIS: request for evidence was received, "  and our case was being worked on again. Since then, nothing. How long has it typically taken from the "response to USCIS: request for evidence was received" to NOA2? Does it matter what they've requested more evidence for? I only forgot to check one box...very frustrating. Thanks for your help!

  5. Hello! I've never posted on here before, but I do check in, or lurk, almost everyday. It is nice to see peoples updates, stories, and questions. We are a NOA1 date of April 25th. Last week I spoke with a Tier 2 customer service rep (after all of your great tips, I knew to ask for Tier 2!) and asked, in addition to a lot of other questions, about a status update. He mentioned that they were working on February cases, and my man probably wouldn't be in the country until March/April 2018!! I know from this forum that people are getting approved now, so I am forging ahead and trying to get things in order in hopes that they are wrong and y'all are right and we should see something positive in the next few weeks.

So, point of this post, I am hoping one of you might be able to offer some insight into the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I am a student right now so have no income, and last year I was living and working abroad the first half of the year and didn't file any taxes here. I do have enough in assets and savings to show I am above the poverty line (i do know you need to show more than poverty line in this case). Is it an issue to be a sponsor without an income and just on assets? And, do I need to show my tax returns for the time I was living abroad? Does anyone know who to contact with these questions or any website/forum that gives good information on this subject?

Any help would be appreciated! And, good luck to all!
