I petitioned for my husband on December 21, 2016. He is from Belgium. We have been married for 20 years and our two children are also US citizens.

We are still waiting ... there has been no update whatsoever.

We had our Congressperson send an inquiry and the response is "background check".

This is quite disheartening actually ...

Well ... interesting thread. I am a US citizen and have been living in Europe for 20+ years. My husband is Belgian and we have been married for 20 years. We have two children - both US citizens. We decided to re-locate to the US last year. I petitioned for my husband in December 2016. Our case is in Nebraska and we are still waiting for NoA2. It's been 280 days or so and ... nothing. The fact that the process is like a black hole is a real challenge. So far, he was able to travel to US on his B1/B2 visa without problems. He is now back in Belgium. An immigration lawyer that we consulted however has strongly recommended that he not try to re-enter the US until the process is finalised. Entering with the intention to visit (on a tourist visa) is contradictory to the intent to immigrate. If for any reason he was turned away by a Customs Officer, it could be a black mark on his dossier and he could never be re-admitted to the US again. This is absolutely absurd !

I am still waiting to hear from USCIS / Nebraska ... not NVC ...

If anyone could provide a number to call leading to a real human being and not an automated system, that would be very helpful ...

Well ... I filed on December 21st for my husband. He is Belgian and we have been married for 20 years. Our children are US citizens. And we are all re-locating back from Belgium to the US. Our file went to "infamous" Nebraska and it's like a black hole.

I see people who are getting their Noa2 before us and even interviews. It's very disconcerting ...

The wait for NOA2 is excruciatingly long ... My husband has travelled to the US a couple of times so far without issues.

My question is more about travel to the US once we are in the next phase (NVC) of the process. And yes, we are filing IRC1 via the consular procedure.

Hi ! I am filing from Belgium for my husband (I am a US citizen) with a December 21, 2016 Priority date. And still nothing ... Does anyone know if there is a number one can call at USCIS with a real human being at the end of the line ?

Also - does anyone know whether it is possible to travel back and forth between the US and Belgium with a visito/business visa while the procedure is on-going ?
